Mon Jun 20 201110:11Presley close to promotion?
Pirates manager Clint Hurdle suggested Sunday that Alex Presley may be close to gaining a promotion.
Presley, 25, has registered a .333/.384/.509 batting line with eight homers and 34 RBI in 69 games this season for Triple-A Indianapolis. The only thing keeping him in the minors is the fact that the Pirates have a fairly crowded -- and also somewhat talented -- outfield depth chart. The Bucs want Presley to get regular playing time.

Sat Jun 4 201123:54Alex Presley hit by pitch, leaves game
Alex Presley was forced from Triple-A Indianapolis' game on Saturday evening after getting hit by a pitch on the right arm.
He will be re-evaluated on Sunday. His injury doesn't sound serious, but still comes at a bad time for a player that's absolutely raking, as Presley entered play on Saturday the owner of a .339/.381/.523 slash to go along with 13 steals, eight home runs and 31 RBI. He's someone to monitor in deeper NL-only leagues, especially as the struggles from Pittsburgh's right fielders grow more pronounced.

Sat Jun 4 201111:44Alex Presley's call-up not imminent
Alex Presley's call-up from Triple-A Indianapolis is not imminent despite a .339/.381/.523 batting line with eight homers and 13 steals.
Presley had a breakout year in 2010, winning the Pirates' Minor League Player of the Year award while earning a September call-up. But, when asked if a promotion for Presley was looming, GM Neal Huntington said only that "Alex has continued to play well and develop in the areas where he can improve." Garrett Jones has fallen out of favor after a recent slump, but the Pirates aren't ready to give Presley a shot at regular playing time yet.
