Sun Jan 1 201219:46Kevin Walter held catch-less in Week 17 loss
Kevin Walter was held catch-less in the Texans' Week 17 loss to the Titans.
Houston will enter the postseason as the AFC's No. 3 seed, but they've lost three straight games. Walter started the game, but appeared to play sparingly and was targeted only once as the Texans made a conscious effort to rest starters with nothing to gain from a win. More will be expected of Walter in the playoffs. The Texans will face the Bengals in Week 18.

Fri Dec 23 201100:26Walter leads Texans with 47 yards
Kevin Walter led the Texans with 47 yards on three receptions against the Colts in Week 17.
Walter's three targets were second only to backup tight end Joel Dreessen's four on a night where T.J. Yates made just 16 throws. Walter will go back to second-fiddle in a run-dominant offense if Andre Johnson (hamstring) returns for the season finale.

Sun Dec 18 201117:25Kevin Walter held to 26 yards in Week 15
Kevin Walter caught just two passes for 26 yards against the Texans in Week 15.
Walter had a 24-yard touchdown nullified because he stepped out of bounds before catching the ball. Even with Andre Johnson likely to sit out again in Week 16, Walter won't be a recommended WR3 option versus the Colts.

Sun Dec 18 201112:11Kevin Walter active for Week 15
Kevin Walter is active for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Walter (knee) was listed as probable on the injury report and should be close to 100 percent for Sunday. The Texans' Week 15 inactives are QB Jeff Garcia, CB Sherrick McManis, OG Mike Brisiel, OT Andrew Gardner, WR Andre Johnson, TE Garrett Graham, and DE Tim Bulman.

Fri Dec 16 201120:46Kevin Walter listed as probable
Kevin Walter (knee) was limited in Texans practice for the third straight day Friday, but is listed as probable for Week 15.
He's expected to start opposite Jacoby Jones with Andre Johnson (hamstring) out at least one more game. Walter usually lines up at the position Panthers LCB Chris Gamble most often covers and won't be a recommended Week 15 fantasy play.

Thu Dec 15 201117:37Kevin Walter limited again on Thursday
Kevin Walter (knee) was limited in Texans practice for the second straight day Thursday.
The Texans haven't said much about Walter's status, but as of yet there's been nothing to suggest he'll miss Sunday's game against the Panthers. Coming off a six-catch, 76-yard, one-touchdown performance against the Bengals, Walter is Rotoworld's 46th ranked receiver for Week 15.

Wed Dec 14 201117:57Kevin Walter limited with knee injury
Kevin Walter (knee) was limited in Texans practice Wednesday.
Walter racked up 76 yards and a touchdown on six catches in Week 14, seeing ten targets. Assuming he plays against the Panthers -- and he should -- the possession receiver would still be a dicey WR3 in fantasy leagues.

Sun Dec 11 201118:42Walter scores game-winning TD in Week 14
Kevin Walter caught six passes for 76 yards and a touchdown against the Bengals in Week 14.
Tying for the team lead with 10 targets, Walter came up huge on the game's final drive. He survived a big hit for a 19-yard gain to the Bengals' 35-yard line and hauled in a 6-yard slant for the game-winning score with just two seconds on the clock. While today's performance was encouraging, Walter stills falls short of WR3 territory even if Andre Johnson misses Week 15 against the Panthers.

Fri Dec 9 201113:34Kevin Walter misses practice with an illness
Kevin Walter missed Texans practice with an illness Friday.
Coach Gary Kubiak admitted afterwards that he's "a little bit concerned," but is confident Walter will "do everything he can to play" against the Bengals. Jacoby Jones and Owen Daniels are superior Week 14 bets in fantasy leagues.

Sun Nov 27 201116:43Walter goes for 15 yards in Texans victory
Kevin Walter caught two passes for 15 yards in the Texans' Week 12 win over Jacksonville.
He was targeted twice. Walter will struggle for more than 5-6 targets a game as long as the Texans have rookie T.J. Yates at quarterback and enter each week with an extremely run-heavy plan. He's a WR5 at best with Andre Johnson back.

Sun Nov 13 201118:20Walter held to just six yards in Week 10
Kevin Walter was held to just six yards on one reception against the Bucs in Week 10.
Walter was targeted just once on a day where Matt Schaub only threw the ball 15 times. He's not going to be a fantasy starter coming out of the Week 11 bye with Andre Johnson returning.

Fri Nov 4 201116:33Kevin Walter practices again on Friday
Kevin Walter (knee) participated in Texans practice Friday and will play in Sunday's game against the Browns.
Cleveland has been awfully tough against the pass this season, so Walter will be only a low-end WR3 in Week 9. He has 27 targets in the last four games.

Thu Nov 3 201118:24Kevin Walter comes down with knee injury
Kevin Walter was limited in Texans practice Thursday with a knee injury.
Walter wasn't on the Texans' Wednesday injury report, so he was likely hurt in practice this afternoon. There haven't been any indications he'll miss Sunday's game against the Browns, but he'll definitely be someone to check in on tomorrow. He's Rotoworld's 52nd ranked receiver for Week 9.

Sun Oct 30 201117:56Kevin Walter shows well again
Kevin Walter caught five passes for 70 yards in Sunday's win over the Jaguars.
With Andre Johnson (hamstring) sidelined once again, Walter racked up a team-high nine targets. Over his last four games, he's averaging 4.7 catches for 59.5 yards with one touchdown. And as long as Johnson is sidelined, Walter will make for an unexciting WR3/4 option. However, the Texans' big-play shots go to Jacoby Jones, leaving Walter without much upside.

Sun Oct 23 201118:11Kevin Walter held to 35 yards in Week 7
Kevin Walter was held to 35 yards on three targets against the Titans in Week 7.
Walter outproduced Jacoby Jones, who had two receptions for 27 yards on the same number of targets (4). Neither receiver was a factor after the Texans jumped out to a 20-0 halftime lead. Walter can be dropped this week if Andre Johnson returns to practice by Wednesday.

Thu Oct 20 201108:30Walter likely to be No. 1 wideout again
Kevin Walter has 11 catches for 133 yards with a touchdown in the last two games.
With Andre Johnson (hamstring) out at least another week, Walter remains the No. 1 wideout in Houston. He'll have solid WR3 appeal against a Titans defense that has given up nine passing touchdowns through five games.

Sun Oct 16 201120:38Walter hauls in six catches in loss
Kevin Walter caught six passes for 52 yards in Sunday's loss to the Ravens.
With the Texans missing Andre Johnson for the second straight game, Walter drew a season-high eight targets. All of his looks came on short-to-intermediate routes, and Walter never came close to breaking a big play on a day where the Texans rarely looked downfield. With Johnson likely to miss another game in Week 7, Walter will be a WR3 against the Jaguars.

Thu Oct 13 201116:28Kevin Walter held out with illness
Kevin Walter was held out of Thursday's practice with an undisclosed illness.
Players don't often miss games due to a mid-week illness, so we still expect Walter to start against the Ravens this week. Check back on Friday for an update.

Thu Oct 6 201108:23Kevin Walter moves up with Johnson out
Kevin Walter is in line for a bump in targets with Andre Johnson (hamstring) sidelined.
Walter may see his role expand slightly, but he's not a real fantasy option. In the three games that Johnson missed last year, Walter averaged just 2.6 catches for 34.3 yards with no touchdowns. And he's scheduled to see a bunch of top Raiders corner Stanford Routt this week. Playmaking Jacoby Jones is a much better option.

Sun Oct 2 201116:50Kevin Walter held to just one target in win
Kevin Walter was held without a catch in Week 4 against Pittsburgh.
A highly disappointing performance for Walter, who started the game across from Andre Johnson. Even though Johnson didn't play for two and a half quarters, Walter saw just one ball thrown his way. With Johnson potentially out for Week 5, Walter will be Houston's No. 1 receiver, but may spend a majority of the game against up and coming shutdown CB Stanford Routt. He's a WR5 for fantasy purposes.
