McCollum (ankle) left Monday's game with a left ankle sprain and will not return.

The Blazers are as banged up as almost any team in the league, and things went from bad to worse Monday, as both McCollum and Nic Batum (knee) exited with injuries. Prior to leaving, McCollum scored four points on 2-of-8 shooting in 20 minutes.

McCollum played a team-high 40 minutes in his start against the Jazz on Saturday. He finished with 26 points (9-17 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

This was arguably McCollum's best performance of the season. The 23-year-old will likely see extended minutes moving forward since Arron Afflalo (shoulder) is off the court for the next 1-2 weeks, meaning that McCollum has two more regular season games ahead of him to duplicate this type of performance.

McCollum appears poised to start Saturday's game against the Jazz, The Columbian's Erik Gundersen reports.

With Arron Afflalo out McCollum gets a taste of a larger role in one of the final games of the season. He is an intriguing prospect, but it would be risky to gamble on him in daily leagues Saturday.

McCollum assumed his normal role off the bench Thursday against the Warriors. That outing entailed 17 points, two rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one block in 31 minutes.

Perhaps more important than McCollum's box score from Thursday is that normal starter Arron Afflalo was forced off the court prematurely with what appears to be a serious tear in his shoulder. Official word hasn't been released on the matter, but McCollum may once again assume the role of a starter moving forward, inflating his value for the final few games of the regular season and for postseason formats.

McCollum earned his first career start Monday at Brooklyn, supplying 15 points (6-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 34 minutes.

In this makeup game, the Blazers opted to leave Nicolas Batum, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Chris Kaman behind in Portland for the cross-country trip, which afforded McCollum the nod. McCollum is showing more comfort by the game, as evidenced by scoring in double figures in four consecutive contests. During that span, he's averaged 16.3 points (on 58 percent shooting), 3.3 rebounds, two assists, 1.8 three-pointers, and 0.8 steals in 25 minutes. While the workload will reduce once the rotation is intact Wednesday against Timberwolves, he's coming into his own as a scoring threat off the bench.

McCollum is starting Monday's game at Brooklyn, The Oregonian reports.

McCollum has flourished with increased playing time, which was the direct result of Wesley Matthews' season-ending torn Achilles. Since Matthews was lost on Mar. 5, McCollum is averaging 17.4 points (on 48 percent shooting), 3.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.2 three-pointers, and 1.6 steals per 36 minutes.

McCollum scored 10 points (4-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT) with one rebound and two assists in the win over the Pelicans on Saturday.

McCollum cooled off a bit after getting hot on Friday, and was limited a bit on offense by a random Chris Kaman 10-shot, double-double performance. He's still a good bet to earn 20+ plus minutes may get more looks offensively with Aaron Afflalo throwing up yet another dud on Saturday. McCollum is player to watch and has a chance increase his role if he can continue to produce.

McCollum torched the Lakers on Friday with a career-high 27 points. He added six rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 27 minutes of action.

McCollum has had the occasional fantasy outburst with his explosive play, but hasn't been able to get enough minutes to contribute consistently. He's averaging just 11.8 points on 20.0 minutes per game over the last five, and Friday's game was an anomaly, thanks to the blowout outcome.

McCollum reeled off a new career high, posting 23 points (9-18 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT) Tuesday against Warriors. In addition, he chipped in three steals, two assists, and one rebound in 29 minutes.

Tuesday's loss was a tale of two halves, with the Blazers failing to uphold their early level of play after halftime. Everyone except McCollum, who thrived in the uptempo style laid down by the Warriors, especially when Portland's offense stalled in the second half. He has now scored in double digits in three consecutive games, averaging 17 points (on 50 percent shooting), 2.3 rebounds, 2.3 treys, 1.7 steals, and one assist in 25 minutes. The absence of Wesley Matthews (Achilles) has afforded McCollum plenty of playing time the past few weeks, which he's clearly utilized in his mini-breakout. As long as LaMarcus Aldridge (finger) and Nicolas Batum (back) are sidelined, McCollum's offensive prowess will be required to keep the Blazers afloat.

McCollum got extended run with Nicolas Batum (back) and LaMarcus Aldridge (hand) ruled out for the second half of the game and turned in his best performance in recent times. If Batum or Aldridge will be forced to miss time, McCollum should see enough minutes to become a short-term fantasy asset, but it'll likely be only in the points, three-pointers and steals categories, three categories in which he has been productive the last two games.

McCollum has achieved double-digit points in three of the last four games, averaging 10.8 points (on 48 percent shooting), 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 treys, 1.3 assists, and 0.8 steals in 19 minutes. At this point in his second season, he's little more than a scoring threat. However, because he's hit at least one three-pointer in a career-best five consecutive outings, he appears to be coach Terry Stotts' preferred wing option heading into the All-Star break.

McCollum recorded 12 points (4-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 20 minutes during Thursday's victory versus the Suns.

McCollum was one of three Blazers reserves to take the court before garbage time, and in the process, the workload marked his most since Jan. 16, a span of 10 outings. He earned nearly a quarter of playing time in the first half, racking up 10 of his 12 points in a single 11-minute span. Mixing driving layups and the three-point game, he could be on the verge of a breakout. However, until he earns consistent minutes, it's difficult to consider the second-year guard outside of dynasty leagues.

McCollum tied his season-high 17 points (7-10 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-4 FT) in 20 minutes.

This certainly isn't the norm for McCollum, who has only put up double-digit points in four games this season. He doesn't have a consistent enough role on the Trail Blazers to be a legitimate fantasy option.

McCollum scored 17 points (6-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT) to go along with three rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block in 27 minutes Monday against the Rockets.

The Rockets beat Portland badly Monday, so McCollum and other members of the bench saw extended minutes. Although McCollum was able to produce, don't expect him to play this much on a regular basis.

McCollum (finger) logged 14 minutes in his return to action Wednesday against the Bucks. He contributed three points and three assists.

McCollum has missed an entire month of basketball, and it appears he's finally healthy enough to play. Still, he's behind Damian Lillard, Wesley Matthews, and Steve Blake in the depth chart, which means he won't produce much from a fantasy standpoint unless a major injury were to take place.

McCollum (finger) is probable for Wednesday's game against the Bucks.

He will return to the court exactly one month after fracturing his right hand in three places. Considering Damian Lillard and Wesley Matthews are healthy, McCollum may struggle to do enough to be fantasy relevant in shallower formats, although there is a lot to be excited about here in dynasty formats.

McCollum receiving clearance for full contract in practice on Monday night following a round of X-rays on his healing right index finger, which was broken in three places on Nov. 17. Fulfilling the expectation of an unhindered practice, he was seen putting up shots in the portion of drills open to the media, but coach Terry Stotts "most likely" comment clouds whether McCollum will in fact make an immediate return. Thus, consider the second-year guard questionable for Wednesday's contest.

McCollum (finger) has been cleared to participate in full-contact practice, The Columbian reports.

Following numerous X-rays on Monday night, McCollum was given the all-clear to practice for the first time since breaking his right index finger in three places on Nov. 17. Once he's able to play in a game, he'll be a boon to a lineup that outscored opponent's by 24.5 points per 100 possessions when he was on the court prior to suffering the injury.

McCollum (finger) has received clearance to shoot and dribble, the Blazers' official site reports.

McCollum broke his right index finger in three places on Nov. 17, which limited the use of that particular hand in the meantime. Now that he's able to partake in the basics of basketball, his expected examination next week could forecast a return date. However, his continued absence will allow Allen Crabbe to join Steve Blake as the primary backcourt reserves for the foreseeable future.

McCollum's finger, which is broken in three places, won't require surgery to mend, Blazers digital reporter Casey Holdahl reports.

The backup guard will be reevaluated in four weeks, and since he won't need surgery, it seems reasonable to expect him back sometime this season. While he is out, look for Allen Crabbe and Will Barton to be featured off the bench.
