Sun Jan 5 201400:00C.J. McCollum has a solid weekend
C.J. McCollum scored 24 points on 11-of-23 shooting with the Idaho Stampede on Saturday, adding one assist and three turnovers in 23 minutes.
He is coming off solid game of 13 points, six boards, five assists, two steps and three turnovers on 6-of-13 shooting on Friday. McCollum should have no problem taking care of business in the D-League, but he doesn't project to make the Blazers rotation while the team is healthy.

Fri Jan 3 201413:19McCollum not expected to crack rotation
The Oregonian does not expect C.J. McCollum to crack the Blazers' rotation at all this season.
Coming off another fracture in his foot, McCollum will suit up for the D-League's Idaho Stampede on Friday night. He's expected to play a couple games down there and then rejoin the Blazers. But coach Terry Stotts prefers to ride a nine-man rotation and it's rock solid right now with Damian Lillard, Wes Matthews and Mo Williams holding down the three-guard rotation. Stotts has no reason to change things as he boasts a 26-7 record.

Thu Jan 2 201421:11Blazers grooming McCollum as a shooting guard
C.J. McCollum will play shooting guard for the Idaho Stampede over the weekend.
He will join the team after the two games on Jan. 3 and 4 to be re-evaluated by the team. McCollum played predominately point guard in Las Vegas Summer League and also at Lehigh last year, but the Blazers don't really need help there with Damian Lillard becoming a star. Wes Matthews is also enjoying a breakout season, so there are not going to be a lot of minutes for C.J. He can be left on the wire in almost all leagues and would need an injury to Lillard, Matthews or Mo Williams to become fantasy relevant.

Wed Jan 1 201416:50C.J. McCollum to play in D-League on Jan. 3
The Blazers assigned C.J. McCollum (foot) to the D-League on Wednesday.
He is expected to be available for games on Jan. 3 and 4 for the Idaho Stampede. McCollum has been out all season with a fracture in his foot and he was cleared for full contact last week. The move makes a lot of sense with the Blazers owning one of the most solid NBA rotations, so this will give him a chance to develop. No player attempted more shots per game in summer league, so the rookie will likely have a lot of scoring responsibilities with the Stampede. Once he makes it to the NBA, his minutes figure to be sparse while Mo Williams is healthy.

Fri Dec 20 201315:43C.J. McCollum participates in full practice
C.J. McCollum (foot) was cleared and participated in a full practice session on Friday.
He still does not have a timetable to return from his broken foot which was suffered in the preseason. McCollum led the Las Vegas Summer League in shots per game and the Blazers looked like they were going to bring him along quickly, but the developments of the season probably changed that. Wes Matthews and Mo Williams have both exceeded expectations, so it's hard to get excited about picking up McCollum in almost any format right now.

Sun Dec 15 201316:36C.J. McCollum does 3-on-3 work at practice
C.J. McCollum (foot) participated in 3-on-3 workouts on Sunday.
He was cleared for 3-on-3 on Thursday and is nearing his pro debut. The Blazers are one game behind the Pacers for the best record in the NBA, so they won't need McCollum to be an impact player. Most fantasy owners shouldn't be picking him up despite his impressive skill set. Wes Matthews should be fine and only Mo Williams could lose minutes, but that's far from a guarantee.

Thu Dec 12 201321:18C.J. McCollum (foot) cleared for 3-on-3 work
C.J. McCollum (foot) has been cleared for 3-on-3 play, according to coach Terry Stotts.
He still doesn't have a timetable to return and the team is no rush to get him on the court based on their 18-4 record. McCollum was the centerpiece of their Las Vegas Summer League team, but Wesley Matthews having a career year along with Mo Williams' improved play should keep the rookie's impact to a minimum. He's only worth stashing in the deepest of leagues.

Wed Dec 11 201314:24C.J. McCollum has his CT scan, no results
C.J. McCollum (foot) had a CT scan on Wednesday and the results won't be known today.
Everything has been going along smoothly from McCollum's foot fracture. He's been out for two months with the injury so while he doesn't have a timetable to return, he could be back on the practice court soon. The Blazers don't have any holes in their rotation and are playing great ball, so it's hard to imagine coach Terry Stotts messing with his team's chemistry and giving McCollum a noteworthy role. He's not worth owning in almost any league despite his eye-catching offseason.

Mon Dec 9 201309:36C.J. McCollum (foot) to have CT scan, X-ray
Blazers rookie C.J. McCollum will have a CT scan and X-ray on his fractured foot this Wednesday.
The tests should determine how far along he is in his rehab. He was cleared for light shooting in mid-November and should be nearing a return to full activity, but for now he remains without a return date.

Fri Nov 15 201318:52C.J. McCollum (foot) still progressing
C.J. McCollum (foot) said his injury is still progressing.
He had an X-ray and it sounds like it yielded good news. McCollum still doesn't have a timetable to return and his role with the Blazers isn't quite clear yet. Mo Williams has been better than expected and is healthy for a change, so the Blazers won't be rushing their lottery pick back.

Wed Nov 13 201320:58C.J. McCollum had an X-ray on his foot
C.J. McCollum had an X-ray on his foot and the results are expected to be released on Thursday.
The team is just looking for an update on how his fractured foot is healing. McCollum has been out for over a month with his fractured foot and projects to be in the rotation. The lack of a specific role makes it tough to stash him in almost any format, though.

Fri Nov 8 201312:51C.J. McCollum (foot) making progress
C.J. McCollum is getting ready to lose his walking boot and will meet with doctors next week to determine a target date as he recovers from a broken foot.
"The foot's feeling pretty good," McCollum said. "I'm just continuing to progress. It'll be a good sign if I have a clean X-ray." McCollum will have his foot X-rayed next Tuesday or Wednesday, and if all goes well, he'll likely be cleared to start running. But it still sounds like he's still not close to game action, but he is making progress.

Mon Nov 4 201315:41C.J. McCollum sheds his walking boot
C.J. McCollum (foot) was not wearing a walking boot and was on a stationary bike on Tuesday.
There is still no timetable for him to return and he seems to be a ways off from taking contact. McCollum was the focal point of the Blazers' summer league showing, but he doesn't really have a clear path for minutes, especially with Wesley Matthews playing well. There's not much reason to stash him in most redraft leagues.

Thu Oct 24 201322:09C.J. McCollum ditches crutches Thursday
C.J. McCollum was not using his crutches on Thursday but was still in a walking boot.
He's progressing in his rehab from a foot fracture and the ultrasound procedure performed earlier this month. McCollum is still out indefinitely and the rookie isn't worth drafting in most formats, but he may emerge as a pickup at some point.

Wed Oct 16 201316:04C.J. McCollum to be re-evaluated in six weeks
C.J. McCollum (foot) had a non-operative ultrasound procedure on Wednesday and will be re-evaluated in six weeks.
The procedure was in Charlotte, North Carolina by Dr. Robert Anderson and is a little different from most procedures since it's designed to stimulate bone growth. McCollum's fifth metatarsal fracture could keep him out beyond the six weeks, so he might be out for a couple months.

Wed Oct 16 201310:42McCollum (foot) won't have surgery on foot
C.J. McCollum (fractured foot) will have a "non-operative ultrasound procedure" on Wednesday.
The procedure is designed to stimulate bone growth -- McCollum broke the same fifth metatarsal in his left foot during college, so with luck this inventive approach will permanently strengthen his foot. The team should provide an official timetable once the procedure is complete.

Tue Oct 15 201316:07C.J. McCollum flying back to get surgery?
C.J. McCollum (foot) is flying back to east to with the team's director of performance, Chris Stackpole.
He's probably flying back for surgery on his foot and the team should have an update in the coming days. He's out indefinitely, but the fracture in his foot figures to cost him a couple months. He's a talented player, but the injury knocks him out of the conversation as a pick in most leagues.

Sun Oct 6 201321:00C.J. McCollum (foot) has no date for surgery
C.J. McCollum (fractured foot) doesn't yet have a date for surgery, and he's unsure how long he'll be sidelined.
McColllum, who re-broke the same fifth metatarsal in his left foot which ended his season at Lehigh, addressed the media using crutches and wearing a protective boot. He will consult two specialists, one in California and one in Charlotte, before determining a course of action. We've pointed out that Chris Singleton had the same injury this offseason and will miss 6-8 weeks after surgery, a timetable which should be roughly applicable to McCollum.

Sat Oct 5 201319:36C.J. McCollum needs surgery on fractured toe
Blazers rookie C.J. McCollum needs surgery to repair a fractured fifth metatarsal in his left foot, and there is currently no timetable for his return.
An X-ray confirmed the awful diagnosis. This is the same injury which sidelined Wizards F Chris Singleton for 6-8 weeks, so we're tentatively assuming that McCollum will miss the same amount of time. Until his return, in mid-November at the earliest, the Blazers will rely more heavily on Mo Williams and Wesley Matthews. More minutes should also be available for guys like Earl Watson and Will Barton.

Sat Oct 5 201317:18C.J. McCollum dealing with a left foot sprain
C.J. McCollum left Saturday's practice early with a left foot sprain.
Coach Terry Stotts said he's not sure about the severity of the injury. Wesley Matthews ran into a screen set by McCollum, causing the rookie to hit the floor. McCollum has been impressing players and coaches in summer league and voluntary workouts, so it would be upsetting to see him have to miss extended time in camp.
