1B Chris Davis and the Orioles finalized a seven-year, $161 million contract Thursday.Davis, 29, led the major leagues with 47 home runs last year, his second AL homer crown in three years. He also finished first with 208 strikeouts while batting .262/.361/.562 with 117 RBIs. He bounced back from a poor 2014 in which he batted .196/.300/.404.
Sat Jan 16 201614:27Davis, Orioles agree to seven-year, $161M deal
The Baltimore Orioles and slugger Chris Davis have reached agreement on a seven-year, $161 million deal, multiple media outlets reported Saturday. The contract includes a full no-trade clause and there is no opt-out in the deal with the first baseman, which is pending a physical, according to MLB.com.The sides reached an agreement less than two days after the Orioles reportedly were prepared to move on from Davis and had offered Yoenis Cespedes a five-year, $90 million deal.Cespedes is no longer a consideration for the Orioles with Davis agreeing to re-sign, a source confirmed to ESPN.com.Davis, 29, filed for free agency after the 2015 season and balked at an earlier offer made by Baltimore reportedly worth about $150 million.Davis, who has been with the Orioles since 2011, hit 47 home runs with 117 RBIs last year and has 126 homers in the past three seasons.

1B Chris Davis rejected the Orioles' reported seven-year, $168 million offer, which the team then withdrew. Davis is said to be seeking an eight-year, $200-million deal but there doesn't seem to anyone to go that high as a Cardinals' source told The Sports Xchange that they are interested in the 29-year-old "but not at that price."Beyond the Orioles and Cardinals, nobody has emerged as a serious threat to sign Davis. That might seem to indicate he will have to settle for less than his asking price, but agent Scott Boras usually gets his clients top dollar.

1B Chris Davis received a seven-year free agent offer from the Orioles in the $150 million range, according to reports Wednesday.ESPN reported the offer was for about $150 million, which would average more than $21 million per year. The Baltimore Sun reported the Orioles aren't willing to go beyond $22 million a year to re-sign Davis. The 29-year-old Davis, a first baseman who also has played third base as well as right field since coming to Baltimore in 2011, led the majors with 47 home runs in 2015 and has 159 homers over the past four seasons, more than any other player on the free agent market. The left-handed slugger was second in the American League with 117 RBIs this past season. Davis hit 53 homers for the Orioles in 2013.

Tue Sep 22 201522:53Chris Davis: Has RBI Double Tuesday
Davis was 1-for-4 with a double, RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-1 victory over the Nationals.
After a recent three-game stretch where Davis only mustered three walks over eight at-bats, the veteran slugger's bat has heated up again. Davis now has a three-game hitting streak and is hitting .417 (5-for-12) over that span, with three doubles, a homer, three RBI and three runs scored.

Davis went 2-for-6 with a game-winning RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 6-5 victory over the Red Sox.
Davis' single in the 13th inning plated Gerardo Parra, giving him 19 hits and 15 RBI in 14 September contests. The power-hitting first baseman shows no signs of slowing down, with four multi-hit outings in his last six games. Davis figures to continue a push for the 50-homer mark over the remainder of the 2015 campaign, although it will take one of his trademark barrages to get there.

Davis swatted his MLB-leading 42nd homer in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Royals.
Davis hit the Orioles' fourth and final homer of the evening off Royals ace Johnny Cueto in the fifth inning, surpassing the Mariners' Nelson Cruz for the MLB lead in the process. The 29-year-old has already hit seven long balls and has driven in 14 runs in just 11 games in September.

Davis went 2-for-2 with a double, two walks and two RBI against the Yankees on Wednesday.
An out machine last year, Davis has now lifted his OBP to .351, its highest point since the first week of the season. He's on an eight-game hitting streak, and he's racked up six homers and two doubles (not to mention seven walks) in that span.

Davis went 1-for-3 with a game-winning solo homer and a walk in Monday's 2-1 victory over the Yankees.
Davis is on one of his renowned torrid streaks with the bat, and his 41st round-tripper of the season leading off the ninth against Chasen Shreve propelled the Orioles to victory. Davis has now hit homers in four out of his last seven games and has blasted six homers and 10 RBI in seven September contests. He's hit safely in all of those outings as well, and in nine out of the last 10 overall. Davis' sizzling start to the month comes after a 10-homer August and gives him an outside chance of reaching the 50-homer mark for the second time in three seasons.

Davis was 2-for-5 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in the Orioles win over the Blue Jays on Friday night.
The home runs pushed his season total to 40 to go with an even 100 RBI and a modest .255 average. Davis has always been streaky, and he is in one of those hot stretches right now. He now has multiple home runs in each of the last two games, and has hit two or more in a game six times this year. If he's on your fantasy roster, enjoy the ride.

Davis went 3-for-4 with two homers -- including an 11th-inning walk-off shot -- and three RBI against the Rays on Wednesday.
After an awful season last year, Davis has provided something like a best-case scenario this season despite strikeout and walk rates that remain nearly unchanged. He's seen his average rebound to .253 -- identical to his career average -- and is now just one homer back of Nelson Cruz's MLB-leading 39.

Davis went 2-for-4, hitting two home runs and driving in three runs during Saturday's 4-3 win over the A's.
Davis' second home run was of the walk-off variety, as he hit a solo homer off Pat Venditte to give the Orioles the win. The 29-year-old has been white hot as of late --- he now has multiple hits in four of the last five games, and has scored at least one run in nine of the last twelve games. He's been incredible since the All-Star break, hitting a mind-numbing .327/.411/.765 with 15 homers and 36 RBI in just 27 games.

Davis went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Sunday's defeat to the Angels.
The home run was Davis' 29th home run on the season and boosted his RBI total to 80. He also struck out for the 139th time this season, the most in the big leagues. Six of Davis' last eight hits have gone for extra bases and the powerful left-handed hitter has boosted his slugging percentage up to .522.
Thu Aug 6 201500:19Davis 2-4 with grand slam and walk, Wednesday against Oakland
Davis went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and a walk, Wednesday against Oakland.
Davis' slam was a game-winner in the 10th inning and his 28th bomb of the season. The slugger is starting August on fire, as he's homered in three of his last four games. In addition, he now has hit safely in six of his last seven games.

Davis went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's game against the Tigers.
The slugger is in the midst of a power surge at the moment, as he has seven home runs and 19 RBI in his last 12 games. Davis' average is still at an underwhelming .245 on the season, but his power and run production are extremely valuable to his fantasy owners.

Davis went 2-for-4 with a homer, a walk, four RBI and a run Thursday in a loss to Detroit.
He also struck out twice, making this about as stereotypically Chris Davis-esque a day as you'll ever see. Not unusually, it's been all or nothing for Davis lately -- over the last six games, he's put up four RBI twice and five RBI once, but he's gone 1-for-10 in the other three contests.

Davis went yard twice off Atlanta's Julio Teheran on Tuesday, finishing 2-for-4 with a total of five runs batted in.
Davis is on a roll of late with five home runs in the past week, not to mention 11 RBIs during that same time frame. His batting average seems to be the weakest link in the outfielder's game this season, although he's raised it to .243 thanks in part to his recent outburst of production.

Davis went 1-for-4 Saturday with a grand slam off Erasmo Ramirez, his 22nd home run of the season.
He's now hitting an almost-respectable .242 on the season, and if Davis stays healthy he's got a good chance of recording the third 30-plus home run season of his career, and possibly his second 100-RBI campaign as well.
Thu Jul 23 201500:14Davis 1-4 with solo homer in Wednesday's loss to Yankees
Davis went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Wednesday's loss to the Yankees.
With some help from the All-Star break, it was his first homer in exactly two weeks. However, Davis has hit safely in five straight since coming back from the break, and he actually didn't strike out in this one, which is pretty rare for him. After last season's .196 disaster, it's awfully hard to complain about the .238 average and 20 homers Davis has provided, yet it still feels like he's just not doing enough, and a lot of that is probably thanks to the shift. He's exactly the kind of hitter whose production would skyrocket if the shift were to be made illegal.
