Dan Uggla went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Dodgers.
Both hits were singles, but the second plated the tying run in a 2-1 game in the ninth inning. The multi-hit effort was Uggla's second in three games, while he's now batting .264/.346/.417 after sporting a .527 OPS less than 10 days ago. Atlanta's second baseman appears poised to avoid a repeat of his dreadful 2011 start.

Dan Uggla went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Monday's loss to the Astros.
Uggla is now 1-for-13 (.077) with five strikeouts to begin the season. He can't possibly be as bad as he was during the first half last year, but the Braves likely need big seasons from him and Jason Heyward if they hope to contend.

Thu Mar 15 201215:49Dan Uggla homers in second straight
Dan Uggla homered in a second straight game Thursday against the Phillies.
Today's blast off David Herndon probably wasn't quite as noteworthy as yesterday's off Stephen Strasburg. Still, it gives him three homers for the spring, which is a nice change from last year. He hit .212 with one homer last spring before turning in a terrible first half of the regular season.

Mon Mar 5 201216:44Dan Uggla homers, doubles in win
Dan Uggla homered and doubled Monday in the Braves' 10-5 win over the Astros.
Uggla spent the second half of last season hitting cleanup for the Braves, but now it looks like he'll be moved behind Brian McCann in the order, something that figures to take a toll on his fantasy value. While McCann typically has solid enough OBPs, he's slow as molasses, something that will cut into Uggla's RBI numbers if the current arrangement sticks. He'd also score fewer runs.

His season will be remembered for his Braves record 33-game hitting streak and for the manner in which he turned around his campaign after the All-Star break, batting .296 after hitting just .185 before it. He'll make $13 million in the second year of a five-year contract in 2012.

Wed Jul 27 201123:10Uggla extends hit streak to 18 games
Dan Uggla went 3-for-4 with a walk and a double in Wednesday's 10-inning win against the Pirates.
The teams had so much fun playing 19 innings last night that they decided to go into extra frames again. Forget for one second that Uggla is batting just .205. He is now riding a career-best hitting steak of 18 games, watching his average rise all the way from .173 in that time. Despite a horrific start to the season, he has 18 homers and 41 RBI. We expect him to continue to rake. If you have a sucker in your league still willing to give him away, take advantage of the opportunity.
