Hunter went 1-for-4 with an RBI double and a run scored in a 6-4 loss to the Blue Jays on Friday.
Hunter's outstanding May continues, as he's put up a ridiculous line this month following a .205 April: .337/.396/.568 with six homers and 23 RBI in 24 games. He's approaching his 40th birthday, so there's no way Hunter can keep up this pace, but it looks like he's on track to deliver another quietly productive campaign, at least in terms of batting average, RBI and runs.
Sat May 30 201511:25Hunter out of Saturday's lineup against Blue Jays
Hunter is out of Saturday's lineup against the Blue Jays, LaVelle E. Neal of the Star Tribune reports.
Hunter is just getting some rest, with Eddie Rosario backing him up again. Hunter usually gets spelled from right field by playing DH, but that's not the case this time with Eduardo Nunez getting the start there.
Sat May 23 201521:04Hunet 1-4 Saturday with solo shot, seventh home run of season
Hunet went 1-for-4 Saturday with a solo shot, his seventh home run of the season.

Thu May 14 201510:50Hunter not in lineup Thursday against Tigers
Hunter is not in the lineup Thursday against the Tigers, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
It looks like a scheduled day off for Hunter, who will give way to Eddie Rosario in right field. Rosario is joined by Eduardo Escobar in left and Aaron Ricks in center field. Catcher Kurt Suzuki will slide up and bat second in Hunter's usual slot.

Hunter whacked his sixth home run, drew two walks and scored two runs in Wednesday's win over Detroit.
The first-inning homer got the Twins started on a fairly leisurely win and continued what's been a fabulous stretch of hitting by Hunter. In 12 games during the month of May, Hunter has hit five of his six homers while going 19-for-48 (.396) with 14 RBI and 14 runs. Those are elite fantasy numbers. Of course, at his age, Hunter can't be expected to keep up this sort of onslaught, but it looks like he's headed for a very productive season.

Hunter went 3-for-5 Saturday with three runs scored and a solo home run, his fifth blast of the season.
His quiet April is ancient history, as Hunter has exploded for a .462/.500/.821 line with six multi-hit games, four home runs, 12 RBI and 11 runs in nine May contests.

Hunter was 4-for-4 with a home run and four RBI as Minnesota defeated the Indians on Friday night.
A huge fan favorite in Minnesota, Hunter finished April hitting a disappointing .205, but he (and the Twins) have turned it on in May. Hunter is now hitting .280 and has four long ones to go with 18 RBI as the Twins have won eight of their last nine games. Jump on board - Hunter and his mates are feeling good right now.

Hunter hit a three-run home run Tuesday against the A's and has now driven in six runs in his past three games.
Hunter has started to gain some momentum in May, bringing his averaged up to .253 after finishing April with it at .205. He now has a hit in five straight games.

Hunter got the start at DH on Saturday, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBI and his second home run of the season.
His .250/.291/.388 slash line so far isn't setting the world on fire, but until the Twins start calling up prospects like Byron Buxton, or give Aaron Hicks another chance, Hunter's spot in the lineup should be fairly secure.
Wed Apr 29 201510:55Hunter not in lineup for Wednesday's game against Tigers
Hunter is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Hunter will get the day off with the Twins playing an early game and utilizing a lefty-heavy lineup against Tigers starter Shane Greene. Oswaldo Arcia will get the start in right field in Hunter's place.
Sun Apr 26 201513:45Hunter out of lineup Sunday against Mariners
Hunter is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mariners, LaVelle E. Neal of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Manager Paul Molitor will use Sunday's getaway day as an opportunity to give some of his older regulars in Hunter and Kurt Suzuki a rest. Hunter appeared in the last seven games for the Twins, going 7-for-29 with a homer and five RBI. He'll be replaced in right field Sunday by Oswaldo Arcia.
Fri Apr 17 201516:45Hunter out of lineup Friday against Indians
Hunter is out of the lineup Friday against the Indians, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Hunter will get a day off Friday in favor of Eduardo Escobar in left field, with Oswaldo Arcia sliding over to play right. Escobar will also bat in Hunter's second spot in the order. There's no indication of injury, so it's likely just a maintenance day and he should return to the lineup Saturday.
Thu Apr 16 201523:38Hunter 3-5 in Thursday's win over Kansas city
Hunter went 3-for-5 in Thursday's win over Kansas city. He hit second in the order and manager Paul Molitor said he'll stick with Hunter in that spot and Brian Dozier at cleanup, ESPN 1500 am Twin Cities reports.
Hunter hit mostly second in the order for Detroit the past two seasons and says he's more comfortable in the role. His lower OBP isn't an idea fit for the top of the lineup, but the extra at-bats he'll get could boost his fantasy value slightly.
Wed Apr 15 201516:42Hunter will hit second in Twins' order Wednesday against Royals
Hunter will hit second in the Twins' order Wednesday against the Royals, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Hunter was used a few times in the two hole during spring training, and now that will come to fruition during the regular season. There's no word whether this could become a permanent fixture or not, but a permanent move to second could result in extra at-bats for Hunter.
Sat Apr 11 201511:09Hunter not in lineup for Saturday's game against White Sox
Hunter is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox, Doug Padilla of ESPN reports.
This can be chalked up to a 39-year-old veteran getting rest. Hunter is probably going to require more days off than your usual starting right fielder, so adjust lineups accordingly. Shane Robinson is filling in at right field.
Wed Apr 8 201517:51Hunter 0-3 with strikeout in Wednesday's loss to Tigers
Hunter went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in Wednesday's loss to the Tigers.
Hunter has slotted into the lineup in the cleanup spot in both games thus far, but has struggled at the plate as he's gone 0-for-7 with three strikeouts. He hit closer to the top of the lineup at times throughout the spring, but appears to be set at either fourth or fifth in the order.

Hunter hit second in the batting order and went 0-for-3 in Friday's spring training loss to Pittsburgh. He's hitting just .250 (5-for-20) this spring.
Spring training stats are likely meaningless for a veteran like Hunter assured of a starting job. He'll start in right field for the Twins, but it's not clear where he'll hit in the order. There was talk in the offseason he could hit second, but his low OBP would appear to be a poor fit at the top of the order. He'll more likely hit fifth in the order.
Tue Dec 2 201420:59Torii Hunter: Signs With Minnesota
Hunter signed a one-year, $10.5 million contract with the Twins on Tuesday, Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports.
The 39-year-old Hunter will return to where it all started for what figures to be his farewell tour in major league baseball. Although Hunter's numbers declined last season, his two years in Detroit were a rousing success, as he hit .295/.327/.456 with 70 doubles and 34 homers. His return to Minnesota will likely push Oswaldo Arcia back to left field and relegate Jordan Schafer to a reserve role.

Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski said Friday that he doesn't think the team will re-sign Hunter, MLive.com reports.
Hunter showed this season that he still has something left in the tank at 39, batting .286 with 17 homers and 83 RBI in 142 games, but Dombrowski said he doesn't think Hunter would be a fit for the team in 2015. Last month, Hunter said that he hadn't made a final decision about playing next season but that he was leaning toward playing another year.

Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski was non-committal with regards to re-signing Hunter this winter, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Now 39, Hunter is planning on playing in 2015 with the hope of making a push for a World Series title. The Tigers have made finding a new center fielder their top priority, while re-signing Victor Martinez is also on Dombrowski's wish list, which may ultimately leave Hunter as an odd-man out with regards to the team's 2015 plans after he hit .286/.319/.446 with 17 homers and 83 RBI in 142 games in 2014.
