Orlando went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and a sacrifice fly in Thursday's win over Baltimore.
It was his second straight start after four straight games on the bench, but the 29-year-old outfielder possesses limited pop, while his wheels have hardly lived up to the promise of his early barrage of triples. That makes him a fringe fantasy option even in AL-only formats.

Orlando was recalled from Triple-A Omaha and will enter the lineup in left field Sunday against the White Sox.
Orlando will take the 25-man roster spot of utility infielder Cheslor Cuthbert, who was sent back to Triple-A in a corresponding move. While the Brazilian outfielder doesn't figure to see frequent at-bats with the Royals, he'll join the lineup as the No. 7 hitter Sunday due to his strong career numbers in a limited sample against the White Sox's Jose Quintana. He's 4-for-5 with two doubles versus the Chicago lefty.

Orando was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Thursday.
The Royals needed to clear a roster spot for Ben Zobrist, so Orlando will head back to Triple-A, where he's played 32 games this season. In 46 major league games, Orlando holds a .237/.270/.408 slash line with 17 RBI.

Kansas City Royals outfielder Paulo Orlando was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Thursday, according to the team's official website. The team's acquisition of utility man Ben Zobrist made Orlando the odd man out after he hit .237 with 17 RBI in 46 games with the Royals.

Orlando went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's game against the White Sox.
The 29-year-old now has three home runs and 10 RBI in his last six starts and is making the most of regular playing time. Orlando has now made five consecutive starts in left field and should continue to garner regular at-bats while Alex Gordon is on the disabled list.
Sat Jul 18 201512:27Orlando in lineup for Saturday's game against White Sox
Orlando is in the lineup for Saturday's game against the White Sox.
Orlando will get the start in left field for the second straight game Saturday, batting ninth. He'll be facing lefty Jose Quintana for the second time in his career. The first time Orlando faced Quintana, he went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI.

Orlando is in line to see additional at-bats due to what projects to be an extended absence for Alex Gordon (groin), the Kansas City Star reports.
Orlando was the main beneficiary when manager Ned Yost wanted to give Gordon planned rest earlier in the season, and the rookie should once again see an opportunity for his role to grow. With Gordon projected to be unavailable until as late as September, a soft platoon between Orlando and Jarrod Dyson seems to be the most likely scenario. Orlando may see more starts, however, as Yost may elect to maintain Dyson's role as a late-game pinch runner and defensive replacement. Even though Orlando turned heads with a walk-off grand slam in his first game with the Royals since May 29, he doesn't typically bring much power to the table, collecting just four total long balls between the Royals and Triple-A Omaha in 2015.

Orlando went 2-for-5 with a walk-off grand slam in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Rays.
The blast came against Brad Boxberger in the bottom of the ninth after the Rays took a one-run lead by scratching out a run against Royals closer Greg Holland in the top of the frame. Orlando will see a brief stretch of regular time with the Royals leading into the All-Star break as Lorenzo Cain is battling a nagging hamstring injury.
Mon Jul 6 201517:18Orlando recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Monday
Orlando was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Monday, Joel Goldberg of Fox Sports Kansas City reports.
With Lorenzo Cain tweaking his hamstring over the weekend, the Royals opted for another outfielder to make sure they are covered. He hit for a .241/.274/.384 slash line in 112 at-bats for the Royals this season. Orlando replaces Jason Frasor on the active roster.
Sat May 30 201514:16Orlando optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Saturday
Orlando was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Saturday.
With Alex Rios (hand) ready to return to right field, Orlando will head back down following a disappointing run as a regular in the Royals' outfield. The 29-year-old hit .241/.274/.384 in 117 plate appearances, notching one home run, 14 runs scored, seven RBI and two stolen bases.

Orlando went 1-for-3 with his first career home run in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees.
Orlando's sixth-inning solo shot was the lone run Kansas City managed to put on the board, as the team collected just four hits on the evening. The 29-year-old has provided modest fantasy production (.250/.284/.394) during his recent stint of increased playing time, but will likely return to a reserve role upon the pending return of Alex Rios (hand) this weekend.
Sat May 23 201515:42Orlando out of lineup Saturday
Orlando is out of the lineup Saturday, 610 Sports Radio's Josh Vernier reports.
He has been starting in right field pretty consistently but will take a seat Saturday with righty John Lackey on the mound for the Cardinals. Jarrod Dyson will play right and hit ninth.
Thu May 7 201511:01Orlando out of lineup Thursday
Orlando is out of the lineup Thursday, the Kansas City Star's Andy McCullough reports.
Jarrod Dyson gets the start in right field Thursday as the Royals continue a semi platoon with Orlando and Dyson while Alex Rios is out.
Wed May 6 201515:16Orlando not in lineup Wednesday against Indians
Orlando is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Indians, Joel Goldberg of FOX Sports Kansas City reports.
Orlando has essentially worked his way into a starting role with Alex Rios on the disabled list, but his production has dipped a bit of late as his slash line now stands at .254/.299/.429. Jarrod Dyson will draw the start in right field Wednesday, but Orlando still figures to be the primary option for the time being.
Mon Apr 27 201514:51Orlando not in lineup Monday against Indians
Orlando is not in the lineup Monday against the Indians, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports.
Orlando has worked his way into the starting lineup with regularity lately as he had made 10 consecutive starts entering Monday. Jarrod Dyson will start in right field in his place and bat ninth, but it appears Orlando has the upper hand for at bats with Alex Rios on the disabled list with a hand injury.
Thu Apr 23 201516:39Orlando will make seventh straight start in right field Thursday
Orlando will make his seventh straight start in right field Thursday, Matthew DeFranks of FOX Sports Kansas City reports.
Orlando has served as the top option in right field since Alex Rios (hand) hit the DL, logging 37 total plate appearances to Jarrod Dyson's 13. A former track star in his home country of Brazil, Orlando has notched five triples already this season with one stolen base. He led off for Kansas City twice last week with Alcides Escobar out of action, but it appears Orlando will primarily hit in a bottom-third spot in the order for now.
Sat Apr 18 201515:24Orlando will lead off for Royals on Saturday night with Alcides ...
Orlando will lead off for the Royals on Saturday night with Alcides Escobar (knee) out of the starting lineup, Josh Vernier of 610 AM in Kansas City reports.
The extent of Escobar's injury is unknown, but the speedy Orlando has been limited to use in the bottom third of the batting order during the first two weeks of the season.

Orlando will start in left field and bat seventh Thursday against the Twins.
Orlando stands to gain significant playing time over the next month, with regular outfielder Alex Rios on the disabled list with a broken hand. Mix that with the fact that Ned Yost seems to be sticking to his plan to rest Alex Gordon in day games following night games, and Orlando may begin to find fantasy relevance in deeper mixed leagues and AL-only formats. The 29-year-old is 3-for-8 at the dish to start the year, with all three of those base knocks being triples. It remains to be seen how his numbers will stabilize over a larger sample size, however.

Orlando and Jarrod Dyson will get more playing time while Alex Rios (hand) is out, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports.
Rios suffered a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metacarpal in his left hand, which will likely require an absence of at least one month. Orlando figures to handle the lesser half of a platoon with Jarrod Dyson, but both outfielders should garner plenty of extra at-bats, as Alex Rios and Lorenzo Cain may get occasional days off. The 29-year-old Orlando has started his big-league career with three triples through eight at-bats, and while he doesn't have much upside as a batter, he did steal 34 bases in 136 games for Triple-A Omaha last season.
Sun Apr 12 201513:13Orlando will draw start in left field Sunday against Angels
Orlando will draw the start in left field Sunday against the Angels, Joel Goldberg of FOX Sports Kansas City reports.
Orlando will make his second start of the year in left as part of manager Ned Yost's plan to rest Alex Gordon in day games following night games. With Yost likely conserving Jarrod Dyson for a late-game defensive replacement, Orlando will once again get the start. The 29-year-old went 1-for-3 with a triple in his last such opportunity, but will need more consistent playing time to achieve fantasy relevance in most formats.
