Memphis Grizzlies guard/forward Desmond Bane (foot), forward/center Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) and center Steven Adams (ankle) are all active and available to play Monday against the Philadelphia 76ers. All three players were listed as questionable, but all went through shootaround without any hiccups. Bane and Adams end up not missing any time with their respective ailments, while Jackson will return after a one-game absence and push Kyle Anderson to the bench.

Sun Dec 12 202119:13Jaren Jackson Jr. Questionable For Monday's Action
Memphis Grizzlies forward/center Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) is considered questionable for Monday's meeting with the Sixers. The 22-year-old missed Saturday's win over Houston and it lifted Kyle Anderson into the starting unit. Jackson Jr. had just enjoyed some really good outings, so he's picked up an injury at an awful time. With Steven Adams (ankle) listed doubtful, the Grizzlies could be very short of bodies to tackle Joel Embiid. Xavier Tillman and Killian Tillie are the reserve bigs for the team. They combined for 40 minutes of action on Saturday.

Sat Dec 11 202119:41Jaren Jackson Jr. Won't Play Against Rockets
Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Houston Rockets. This is certainly frustrating with the Grizzlies already shorthanded for this matchup. His absence should mean Kyle Anderson moves into the starting five on Saturday. He'd make a logical DFS option given the fact he'll get extended playing time. Santi Aldama could play more as well, but Anderson is the much better option between the two.

Sat Dec 11 202118:01Jaren Jackson Jr. Doubtful For Saturday
Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) is listed as doubtful for Saturday's game against the Houston Rockets. This is certainly frustrating with the Grizzlies already shorthanded. Now, they could potentially be without one of their better players on Saturday. His absence would mean Kyle Anderson would likely slide into the starting five. He could have some streaming appeal and possibly low cost DFS value without Jackson on the court. Fantasy managers should check back closer to tip-off for more information.

Fri Dec 10 202107:48Jaren Jackson Jr. Gets Game-High 25 Points In Thursday's Win
Memphis Grizzlies power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. went for a game-high 25 points as the team shocked the Lakers with a 108-95 win Thursday night. The young forward had a tough time from three-point range, shooting 2-for-8, but he did well overall with a 9-for-18 effort and capped things off with five rebounds, three steals and three turnovers in 29 minutes. Memphis finished a back-to-back set and Jackson Jr. had 20-plus points in both outings, so his confidence must be sky-high now. He'll meet the Rockets next, against whom Jackson Jr. produced an 18-point performance with 50 percent shooting earlier in the season.

He completed his line with three rebounds, one assist, two steals, two blocks and one turnover in 20 minutes. The 22-year-old has looked great in recent outings, managing back-to-back 20-point games. Memphis Grizzlies power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. led the charge in Tuesday's 98-91 victory over Toronto, scoring a game-high 25 points on 8-for-14 shooting. He was 4-for-7 from downtown and 5-for-6 at the line with six rebounds, one steal and a season-high five blocks. Jackson Jr. also matched a season high here with 34 minutes. The 22-year-old is expected to do a bit more heavy lifting with Ja Morant (knee) on the shelf. Jackson Jr. has a perfect matchup to shine next as Memphis gets ready to host OKC. The Thunder own the second-worst defensive record in the league against opposing power forwards, and they don't know too much about rebounding either.

Sat Nov 27 202115:41Jaren Jackson Jr. Scores 14 In Loss Friday
Memphis Grizzlies forward/center Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 14 points during a 132-100 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Friday. The 22-year-old shot 5-for-15 from the field, including 0-for-5 from behind the arc, and 4-for-4 from the line. The Michigan State product added five boards, a steal, and a block across 23 minutes. The talented big man is now averaging 14.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.1 triples, and 1.9 blocks while shooting 87.9% from the line and 39.7% from the field. While the boards are light for a center, Jackson Jr.'s ability to block shots at a high clip and contribute threes makes him a unique fantasy asset.

Tue Nov 16 202109:32Jaren Jackson Jr. Does A Lot In Limited Minutes
Memphis Grizzlies power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. produced 18 points, seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks in just 24 minutes Monday night in a blowout win over the Rockets, shooting 7-for-14 from the field with a 2-for-6 effort from downtown. It was the perfect response to a four-point dud the 22-year-old had in his previous outing against New Orleans. Jackson Jr. tends to lay an egg here and there, but he's having a solid season overall and is averaging 14 points with 5.7 rebounds and 1.9 blocks. It would be nice to see him playing more, as head coach Taylor Jenkins has given him only 26.5 minutes a night, but maybe that will come later in the season. Jackson Jr. also needs to work on his shooting, with him having so far hit only 38.3 percent of his shots.

Sat Nov 6 202108:31Jaren Jackson Jr. Gets Close To A Double-Double
Memphis Grizzlies power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. fell just one rebound short of his first double-double of the campaign in Friday's 115-87 loss at Washington. It was a miserable night for the Grizzlies, but Jackson Jr. did a decent job with 13 points, two assists, one steal and two blocks. His shooting could've been a lot better, though, as the 22-year-old finished only 4-for-14 from the field and had a very poor 1-for-6 record from downtown. Memphis will look to produce a big bounce-back effort on Monday against Minnesota. Power forwards have done pretty well against the Timberwolves this season, averaging 21.3 points per 48 minutes with 11.1 rebounds.

Thu Nov 4 202108:32Jaren Jackson Jr. Leads Memphis Past Denver
Memphis Grizzlies power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. scored a team-high 22 points in Wednesday's 108-106 win over Denver, finishing things off with a big fourth quarter. He notched nine points, grabbed five rebounds and produced one block inside the final 12 minutes, helping Memphis to win the quarter by seven points. Jackson Jr. shot 7-for-14 for the game with most of his makes coming from downtown with a 5-for-9 effort. He finished with eight rebounds in total and added two assists and three blocks to his line with three turnovers in 30 minutes. The 22-year-old has had a slow start to the season so far because his shots haven't been dropping, but this performance was a good sign that things are starting to change. He can start building momentum in a nice matchup against the Timberwolves, who are allowing opposing power forwards to shoot 47.4 percent against them.

Mon Oct 18 202114:17Jaren Jackson Jr. Signs Massive Extension
Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. has agreed to a massive extension with the organization. The two sides agreed to a four-year $105 million extension, which is fair given what Jackson brings to the table. Last season, Jackson averaged 15.4 points, 1.7 triples 4.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. Fantasy managers should feel comfortable snagging him around the fourth or fifth round in most formats. This is a solid deal for a player who seems to be getting better each year.

The Memphis Grizzlies will be giving Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., Steven Adams and Kyle Anderson a rest day on Saturday as the team faces the Atlanta Hawks. Adams put up 15 points and 16 boards while Morant compiled 16 points, eight assists, five rebounds and two blocks. Desmond Bane and De'Anthony Melton are solid DFS targets for Saturday. The duo combined for six threes and 30 points in Thursday's game.

Thu Jun 3 202121:41Grizzlies see bright future after surprising playoff push
The Memphis Grizzlies believe they have a great foundation after returning to the playoffs much faster than anyone outside the franchise expected. That makes losing their first-round series to the top-seeded Utah Jazz a little easier to take. “We definitely didn't want our season to end the way it did, but I mean we have a lot to be proud of," guard Ja Morant said after Memphis was eliminated in five games by Utah. "Our fight. We had an unbelievable season. We achieved one of our goals. ... We know what we got to do. Everybody's hungry for more.” Memphis exceeded expectations by finishing 38-34 to reach the NBA's new play-in tournament. The Grizzlies beat San Antonio, then the Golden State Warriors on the road to earn the No. 8 seed and snap a four-year playoff drought. That made the Grizzlies not only the youngest team this postseason but the youngest in the playoffs since Oklahoma City in 2011. They won Game 1 before falling in five games to the team that posted the NBA's best record... [More]

Tue Jun 1 202119:01Young, Westbrook, Morant back at scenes of ugly fan actions
Philadelphia, Utah and Atlanta can reach the second round. Dallas or the Los Angeles Clippers will get to the verge of it. Yet as Russell Westbrook and Ja Morant try to save their seasons and Trae Young looks for a clinching victory, eyes will be on the action in the seats right along with the court. The games Wednesday are the first for all three of those players in the arenas where they were the subjects of ugly fan actions in Game 2 of these first-round series. The unruly fan behavior continued Monday when a spectator was tackled after running onto the court in Washington, and Young noticed. “They doing it for attention now,” he wrote on Twitter. Young was cursed at in both games and spit on in the second one at Madison Square Garden, the only game the Knicks won in the series. The Hawks went home and easily took Games 3 and 4 in Atlanta. Now they can silence the New York fans for the summer. Hawks coach Nate McMillan said he feels safe as the team returns to New York, adding that the... [More]
Fri Mar 26 202113:52Grizzlies: Jaren Jackson Jr. due to return by end of April
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The Memphis Grizzlies expect forward Jaren Jackson Jr. back in the lineup by the end of April, nearly nine months after he hurt his left knee in the NBA bubble. Grizzlies general manager Zach Kleiman updated Jackson's status Friday after Memphis made no moves at the NBA trade deadline. It's the first concrete return date for the third-year player. “At this point, he is on track to return in April by the end of the month, and we can't wait to have him out there," Kleiman said. "But Jaren has made very significant strides, encouraged by the progress he's made and we just can't wait to have him back on the court with us.” Jackson tore the meniscus in his left knee in his third game in the NBA bubble last summer, and both he and the Grizzlies chose to do a full repair rather than try to trim the meniscus for a faster return. Kleiman said that was done for the long-term of the fourth overall pick in the 2018 draft who won't turn 22 until September. Kleiman said some people... [More]
Thu Jan 28 202102:00Grizzlies back to practicing, hope to resume season quickly
The Memphis Grizzlies finally are back on a basketball court and hoping to get back to playing games. The Grizzlies returned to practice Wednesday night after having their last five games postponed because of contact tracing within the team and the length of time they were unable to practice. They had been allowed to do individual workouts with one coach over the past couple days, and coach Taylor Jenkins said it was great to be back. “It’s definitely been unique,” Jenkins said. “But I think our entire team, a lot of credit to our players, our staff to adjust obviously working really closely with the league on what are the best courses of action over the last dating back to when we were in Portland. But everyone’s handled it really well.” The NBA stopped play last March with the Grizzlies in Portland for a road game against the Trail Blazers the next night. They were in Portland again last week on a five-game winning streak only to have the first of a back-to-back with the Trail Blazers... [More]
Tue Dec 29 202017:43Grizzlies' Ja Morant out 3-5 weeks with sprained left ankle
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — NBA Rookie of the Year Ja Morant will miss three to five weeks after spraining his left ankle. The Memphis Grizzlies said Tuesday that further tests revealed Morant suffered a Grade 2 ankle sprain during Monday night's 116-111 overtime win over Brooklyn. “i know God is working, so I smile,” Morant wrote Tuesday on Twitter. Morant was defending a shot by Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and rolled his ankle when he landed on Luwawu-Cabarrot's foot. Morant hopped off the court and was taken by wheelchair to the locker room. He returned to watch the end of the game with his left foot in a walking boot. The Grizzlies already are without Jaren Jackson Jr., who is recovering from surgery to repair the meniscus in his left knee in August, and Justise Winslow, who is coming back from a left hip injury. Morant led Memphis in scoring last season, averaging 17.8 points a game. He also opened this season scoring a career-high 44 points. ___ More AP NBA: https://apnews.com/NBA and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports
