Colston paced the Saints' receivers with 53 of 68 offensive snaps (78 percent), according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, and caught four passes on five targets for 49 yards in Sunday night's win against the Packers.
While Colston spent much of the day being covered by shutdown cornerback Tramon Williams, Drew Brees attacked the other half of the field at will, connecting with Brandin Cooks and Kenny Stills a combined 10 times for 151 yards. Further, Jimmy Graham saw a bump in playing time (42 snaps), after being essentially a decoy last week against the Detroit, and saw more action on shorter and intermediate routes, a spot where Colston thrived last week. Colston will continue to see plenty of playing time and the Saints unleashing Cooks and Stills downfield could actually help open things up for him, but there are a lot of mouths to feed in the Saints' offense, so the days of consistent double-digit targets for Colston are likely over.

Colston had six catches on 10 targets for 111 yards Sunday against the Lions.
With Jimmy Graham severely limited by a shoulder injury, Colston picked up the slack, tying his season-high in targets, while setting season-highs in receptions and receiving yards. It's been a pretty up-and-down season for Colston, who still only has one touchdown through six games. It doesn't get much easier, as the Saints will host a Packers defense in Week 8 that is ranked in the top-five in fewest passing yards allowed per game.

If Jimmy Graham is unable to play Sunday in Detroit, Mike Triplett of ESPN.com believes that the Saints will likely rely more heavily on Colston to replace Graham.
While the Saints likely will not rely on a single player to replace all of Graham's production, Colston works the middle of the field and red zone in a fashion similar to Graham. Though he has had an up-and-down season thus far, Drew Brees still remains confident in him on crucial third downs, according to Triplett. As such, Colston could see an uptick in value if Graham is unable to suit up.

Colston caught three passes on six targets for 63 yards in Sunday's win against the Bucs.
While reports of Colston's complete demise have been overstated, it's not unfair to expect more than three catches on six targets from Colston on a day where Drew Brees fired 57 passes. Colston continues to post some numbers each week, giving him a stable floor, but he's clearly been passed by Brandin Cooks (11 targets) on Drew Brees' list of preferred receiving options. Fantasy owners will have to look elsewhere in Week 6 with the Saints on bye.

Colston had five catches for 50 yards on 10 targets in Sunday's 38-17 loss to the Cowboys.
Colston had a pair of bad drops, one of which was negated by a defensive penalty. While his 10 targets were second-best on the team to TE Jimmy Graham's 11, Colston still has just 23 targets through four games, compared to 30 for Brandin Cooks. Colston hasn't looked good this year, and while he still has a significant role in the offense, he seems to be headed for a second straight season with fewer than 1,000 receiving yards. He has a 12-185-1 receiving line through four games, putting him on pace for just 48-740-4.

Colston caught two passes on five targets for 25 yards, including an 18-yard touchdown reception, in Sunday's win against the Vikings.
A week after he failed to catch a pass for the first time in 86 games, it was looking again like Colston could be shut out of the reception department before hauling in two late grabs, including the touchdown, to save the day for fantasy owners. Colston will surely have nice performances going forward but it's looking more like it's going to be difficult to trust the previously-reliable Colston on a weekly basis, with Jimmy Graham having clearly passed him in the receiving pecking order and Brandin Cooks - who has 18 receptions through three games - possibly having done so as well.
Mon Sep 15 201409:55Colston failed to catch pass in Sunday's loss in Cleveland
Colston failed to catch a pass in Sunday's loss in Cleveland, snapping an 86-game streak in which Colston has caught at least one ball in a game he played, reports the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Though he had a key drop and fumble in the Saints' season-opening loss in Atlanta, Colston managed an impressive 110 yards to kick off the season last week. Sunday's performance against the Browns, however, was a far cry from the type of performance the Saints and fantasy owners alike have grown accustomed to from Colston, as the last time he went without a catch was nearly six years ago. Drew Brees and the Saints have typically fared better at home than on the road, so after an 0-2 start to the season, there's still reason for optimism as the team returns home for the first time all year to host the Vikings in Week 3.

Colston had five catches on eight targets for 110 yards, but lost a costly fumble in overtime that set up Matt Bryant's game-winning field goal during Sunday's 37-34 loss to the Falcons.
Colston finished with fewer receptions than tight end Jimmy Graham, running back Pierre Thomas and wide receiver Brandin Cooks, although he did lead the team in receiving yards. With Kenny Stills (hamstring) sidelined and Nick Toon inactive Sunday, Colston will continue to have big responsibilities for a team that passes quite a bit with Drew Brees under center.

Colston caught two passes for 25 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown grab, in Saturday's preseason game against the Colts.
Colston benefitted from the return of Drew Brees, who appeared to be in regular-form despite missing most of training camp with an oblique injury. Hampered by foot and knee injuries during the first half of last season, Colston turned it on over the season's final eight games. With the Saints posting points at ease this preseason, Colston, who has proven to be one of the most consistent fantasy receivers over his career, is looking more and more like a steal at his current ADP.
Mon Aug 18 201409:42Colston returned to practice on Monday
Colston, who missed Friday's preseason game for undisclosed reasons, returned to practice on Monday, reports the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Colston, hampered by foot and knee injuries much of the first half, suffered through arguably his worst season as a pro last year, failing to post 1,000 yards receiving or seven scores for the first time since 2008. Still, he managed 48 grabs for 601 yards and four scores over the final eight games of 2013, showing that his early-season ailments may have been to blame for his relatively low numbers. While it's possible Colston has lost a step as he enters his ninth NFL season, he's been one of the most consistent weapons in fantasy during his career and remains the top wide receiver option in a Drew Brees-led offense, making him a potential value if he slips in fantasy drafts.

Colston caught two passes for 10 yards on four targets in Friday's preseason opener against the Rams.
Colston's role probably won't change much, as the Saints drafted Brandin Cooks and will likely throw to Kenny Stills more often, but they also lost Lance Moore and Darren Sproles in the offseason. It's fair to expect a rebound of sorts from Colston, who battled a foot injury for much of last season, before coming on strong in the second half, followed by a huge performance against the Seahawks in the divisional playoffs. According to ESPN.com, Colston feels much better than he did at this time a year ago. The veteran wideout said training camp has been "a totally different experience" without the foot injury to contend with.
Fri Jul 4 201413:24Marques Colston: I have no restrictions
Marques Colston reiterated that he has "no restrictions" from his past chronic foot woes.
"I feel really good," he said. "The foot I know was addressed earlier in the offseason. It's really not an issue. I've been able to get out here with really no restrictions and just run around and feel good." Still only 31 -- certainly not a past-prime age for wide receivers, Colston is commonly available in the seventh and eighth rounds of pre-training camp fantasy drafts.

Wed Jun 11 201416:41Marques Colston says he has no foot issues
Marques Colston says the foot issues that hampered him in 2013 are no longer giving him fits.
"Feels completely different," Colston said. "No restrictions." Colston started slow last season, but if we extrapolated his final ten games out over a 16-game season, Colson would have put up a very respectable 98-1,213-8 receiving line. The top wideout in a Drew Brees-led offense, Colston is a back-end WR2.

Wed Mar 26 201408:13Marques Colston's foot issues not going away
Coach Sean Payton doesn't expect the nagging foot woes Marques Colston battled last season to go away.
It's March, but Payton is already saying that Colston's practice time will have to be monitored again this season. It's obviously not ideal. Colston set four-year lows in catches (75), yards (943) and touchdowns (5) last year while also watching his YPC sink for the third straight season. The 31-year-old (in June) remains a WR3 as the top wideout in Drew Brees' offense, but there's very little explosive upside left here.

Mon Jan 13 201416:00Coach: Colston's horrid lateral was by design
Saints coach Sean Payton says Marques Colston's ill-fated lateral attempt on the final play of Saturday's loss to the Seahawks was a called play.
As suspected. With the Saints looking to score a touchdown and two-point conversion, Colston caught a 13-yard pass near the sideline. Instead of going out of bounds, he attempted to "lateral" the ball across the entire field. Instead, he committed an illegal forward pass that ended the game. Even had Colston's lateral been perfectly executed, the odds were long that New Orleans was going to escape Seattle with a victory.

Sat Jan 11 201420:10Marques Colston has 11/144/1 day in defeat
Marques Colston caught 11 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown in New Orleans' Divisional Round loss to the Seahawks.
With the Seahawks eliminating Jimmy Graham, Colston drew a team-leading 16 targets. Colston did tough work over the middle against Seattle's league-best secondary, but also committed a baffling forward pass on New Orleans' futile final play from scrimmage. In Colston's defense, it was quite likely a designed play. Going on 31, Colston wasn't himself for the first half of 2013, but was a different player after sitting out to rest a knee injury in Week 9, catching 48 passes over his final eight games. He'll be back as Drew Brees' No. 1 receiver for 2014, and will be a high-end WR3 for fantasy purposes.

Mon Jan 6 201408:29Marques Colston led Saints WRs in snaps
Marques Colston led Saints receivers by playing on 51-of-72 snaps (70.8 percent) in Saturday's win over the Eagles.
Colston's surprisingly low two targets were not a result of reduced playing time. The Saints took an effective run-heavy approach in the bitter cold as they nursed a lead for much of the game, leading to no one going over 44 receiving yards. We can safely expect a ton more targets for Colston in the Divisional Round as the Seahawks have been installed as eight-point favorites. Making plays against the Legion of Boom is another story, of course, as Colston had a 4/27/0 line on seven targets when these teams met in Week 13.

Fri Jan 3 201409:56Saints set NFL record for 70-plus catches
The 2013 Saints are the first team in league history to field four players who caught 70-plus balls.
Jimmy Graham led the unit with 86 catches, nine more than runner-up Pierre Thomas. Marques Colston tallied 75, and Darren Sproles had 71. The overall team production was outstanding, but fantasy consistency was elusive for Saints skill-position players throughout the regular season, and this explains why. "Spread the wealth," said a smiling Drew Brees when told of the stat.
