"The one combination that worked was 'Moose,'" coach Jason Kidd said, about Monroe. "He played well tonight; no one joined him. He was out there by himself so we have to get people to join him."

Monroe played 17 minutes and posted six points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in his only preseason game with the Bucks so far.

Monroe is entering his sixth NBA season in a different setting than he's been accustomed to. He surprised many in the NBA by signing with the Milwaukee Bucks as opposed to bigger market franchise this off-season. Monroe's entering a situation where he'll be the main focus on the block as opposed to sharing time and looks with Andre Drummond. It's going to take time for him to adjust to playing with a new lineup, so there's no need to overreact early. He'll have a chance to put up a similar line to what he did in Detroit along with increased scoring and rebounding.

Monroe and the Bucks agreed to terms on a maximum contract Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Monroe met with a number of teams, including the Lakers, Blazers and Knicks, but ultimately chose Milwaukee, likely due to its willingness to offer a maximum deal. With Jabari Parker returning and likely sliding in as the starting power forward, Monroe figures to see most of his time at center. The Bucks now have a host of talent in the frontcourt and may look to make a move to unload a piece this offseason.

Monroe said he will meet with the Celtics, Knicks, Bucks, Lakers and Trail Blazers this week, also acknowledging that the Pistons are unlikely to pursue him, The Advocate reports. "Stan [Van Gundy] had smaller teams in Orlando years ago," Monroe said. "[Andre Drummond] is like Dwight Howard. So Stan wants to put good players around him. The team has different plans, and I respect that. I don't want to be anywhere I'm not wanted."

The Pistons likely want Andre Drummond playing next to a power forward with a jump shot, which makes Monroe more valuable to other teams. A split makes sense for both sides, and while Monroe's style of play isn't a fit everywhere, he's still one of the better big men on the market and will thus draw plenty of interest. As will be the case for many of the top free agents this offseason, Monroe said he's looking for a two-year deal that includes a player option.

Monroe enjoyed arguably his best statistical season as a pro, averaging 15.9 points, 10.2 rebounds (career-high) and 2.1 assists while shooting 49.6 percent from the field.

While the Pistons' first season under Stan Van Gundy did not go as planned, Monroe was the team's steadiest offensive player, ranking 12th in the NBA with 35 double-doubles and grabbing 10 or more rebounds 37 times. One of the most durable players in the league, Monroe missed significant time due to injury for the first time in his career. The Georgetown product sat out 12 games in late-March/early-April after straining his knee during practice. Prior to this season, Monroe had only missed one game in his professional career. Monroe will enter the summer an unrestricted free agent after the Pistons failed to tender him an extension offer. While the team would likely be interested in keeping him, it's all but certain Monroe will be in a new uniform in 2015-16. He's already been linked to the Knicks, but other suitors are sure to emerge. Monroe is among the steadiest power forwards in the league, but he's limited as an athlete and is not a threat to stretch the floor. According to Basketball-Reference, nearly 40 percent of Monroe's attempts came from the 3-10 foot range, but he converted at only a 37 percent clip. To make matters worse, he was a non-factor in the mid-range, with a mere seven percent of his field goal attempts coming from 10-22 feet. He's also shown no signs of developing as an outside shooter, an increasing focus for teams looking to spread the floor, as he's 0-of-7 from long-range in his career.

Monroe provided 17 points (4-10 FG, 9-10 FT), nine rebounds, and four assists in 33 minutes in the win over the Hornets on Sunday.

Monroe has played well since returning from a knee injury three games ago. He has averaged 18.3 points and 10.3 rebounds in that span as he attempts to make a late-season free agent run.

Monroe played his second game since returning from a knee injury and posted a double-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 35 minutes of action Friday against the Pacers.

Monroe hasn't missed a beat, and he's closing the season strong after his unexpected injury a couple weeks back. Owners can ride him on for the last few games in fantasy.

Monroe (knee) scored 19 points (9-14 FG, 1-2 FT) with 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks in 31 minutes during Wednesday's loss to the Celtics.

He missed 11 games with the injury, but couldn't make it back quickly enough to save the Pistons from being eliminated from the playoffs. Monroe, a pending free agent, will look for a strong close to the regular season.

Monroe has been sidelined for an extended period of time due to his strained knee, but will finally return to the court Wednesday barring a setback of some kind. Following his return, Anthony Tolliver will be pushed back to the bench.

Prior to the game, coach Stan Van Gundy relayed that Monroe would play in a postseason scenario. However, Monroe must practice before making his return, meaning his target date is now Wednesday against the Celtics. In the meantime, Anthony Tolliver will continue to start at the four.

Monroe hopes to return to the last five games of the season, Keith Langlois of the team's website reports.

Head coach Stan Van Gundy said Monroe could return over the weekend, but that the last five games is the more reasonable goal. At the very least, it seems this means that Monroe will be out for Wednesday's game against the Hornets and Friday's matchup against the Bulls.

Monroe (knee) will sit out again Tuesday versus Atlanta, David Mayo of MLive.com reports.

Monroe will remain out for the eighth straight game as he continues to battle a knee injury. The Pistons haven't offered much of an update regarding his status, and it appears he's being evaluated on a game-to-game basis.

Monroe (knee) will not play Sunday against the Heat, Ethan J. Skolnick reports.

Monroe would have had a great opportunity against a banged up Miami frontcourt, but his knee injury continues to linger. Anthony Toliver figures to be the main beneficiary from Monroe's absence.

Monroe (knee) did not practice Thursday, Keith Langlois of Pistons.com reports.

Monroe has missed the last five games with a lingering knee issue, and his absence Thursday suggests he could miss another contest Friday when the Pistons face the Magic. That call likely won't be made until after he's evaluated Friday morning, however.
