For the second straight week, Toon will be a spectator as the Saints opt to go with four receivers. He'll likely need long-term injuries to both Marques Colston and Kenny Stills in order to ascend to fantasy relevance.

Despite missing Kenny Stills due to his lingering quad concern, Toon isn't getting the call in Week 1. Drew Brees will instead direct his passes to the likes of Marques Colston, Joseph Morgan, and Brandin Cooks.

Toon is listed as the backup to Marques Colston on the Saints' initial depth chart, report the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Though technically ahead of rookie Brandin Cooks on the depth chart, Toon is essentially a Colston clone, with his superior size and athleticism, so it makes sense that he would fall behind Colston on the depth chart. Expect Cooks to see more time playing out of the slot, with Toon's fantasy value more directly tied to Colston's health.

Despite playing the majority of his snaps with the first-team offense, Toon didn't catch a pass on two targets in Saturday's third preseason game against the Colts.

Though Toon's night was uninspiring, the big news was that presumed starter Kenny Stills aggravated his quadriceps injury in Saturday's exhibition, which could put his Week 1 status in doubt. Toon is a different type of receiver than Stills, but he could still be in line for a bump in snaps, along with rookie Brandin Cooks, if Stills is forced to miss any regular season time with the injury.

If Toon can continue to earn reps with the starters, he could be a player to keep an eye on in deeper leagues.
