Sun Apr 3 202223:15Yoan Moncada Battling Through Slow Spring
Chicago White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada went 0-for-3 in Cactus League action on Sunday, as he continues to struggle this spring. Moncada has just four hits through 30 at-bats this spring and is yet to homer while sporting a measly .289 OPS. Fantasy managers shouldn't put too much stock into the slow spring due to the small sample size. The 26-year-old posted a career-best strikeout rate in 2021 and should do plenty of damage as part of a loaded White Sox lineup. Moncada is a solid value in fantasy drafts at his average draft position of 147th overall.

Thu Sep 16 202113:46Yoan Moncada On The Bench Thursday
Chicago White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada isn't starting on Thursday. The White Sox will take on the Los Angeles Angels and right-hander Alex Cobb but will do so with one of their best hitters in Moncada on the bench. The 26-year-old is batting .269 with a .380 on-base percentage, 12 home runs, and three stolen bases in 552 plate appearances this season. Romy Gonzalez will move into the lineup at third base and hit seventh on Thursday. Gonzalez has three hits so far in 16 plate appearances for the White Sox this season. Fantasy managers are probably best off looking elsewhere for streaming help.

Thu Sep 16 202107:10Yoan Moncada Hits 12th Homer
Chicago White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss versus the Los Angeles Angels. Moncada crushed a homer to right field in the bottom of the fourth inning against Janson Junk to tie the game at the time. Moncada has been having a very nice second half of the season and is now hitting .310 with three homers and 10 RBI over the last month. For the season, Moncada is hitting .269 with 12 home runs and 56 RBI. As part of a dangerous lineup, Moncada should continue to drive in runs and be valuable in all formats moving forward.

Sat Sep 4 202117:00Yoan Moncada Not Starting On Saturday
Chicago White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada isn't in Saturday's lineup for a matchup with the Kansas City Royals and left-hander Daniel Lynch. Moncada has been plenty productive for both the White Sox and fantasy managers this season, hitting .264 with a .374 on-base percentage, 11 home runs, and three stolen bases in 516 plate appearances. He'll get the day off on Saturday with Romy Gonzalez starting at third base and hitting leadoff. Gonzalez just made his Major League debut on Friday, going hitless in a pair of plate appearances. He was productive in his time at Double-A and Triple-A this season, hitting 23 home runs in 378 combined plate appearances between the two minor league levels. Still, you're probably better off looking elsewhere for streaming help on Saturday.

Sun Aug 29 202112:17White Sox Rest Yoan Moncada On Sunday Afternoon

For the season, Moncada is hitting .264 with 11 home runs and 54 RBI. Replacing Moncada on Sunday will be infielder Jake Lamb. The veteran has struggled offensively this season with a .209 batting average, but has hit six home runs with 13 RBI in 110 at-bats. Lamb will bat fifth and is a dart throw in DFS versus Kyle Hendricks.

Sat Aug 28 202100:20Yoan Moncada Extends Hitting Streak To 13
Chicago White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada extended his streak to 13 games in Friday's victory versus the Chicago Cubs. Moncada went 1-for-4 with a pair of walks and one RBI. The third baseman had a slow start to the second half of the season, but he is starting to warm up over the past two weeks. Moncada has underperformed for what managers expected out of him this season, but he has still put together a solid season. He is now hitting .262 with 11 home runs, 54 RBI and three stolen bases. Moncada will look to extend his hitting streak to 14 games on Saturday versus Alec Mills.

Thu Aug 26 202113:01Yoan Moncada Sitting Against Toronto On Thursday
Chicago White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against Hyun-Jin Ryu and the Toronto Blue Jays. Leury Garcia is covering third base and batting eighth in the game. Moncada tweaked his wrist during Wednesday's game, but that incident appears to be unrelated to his omission from Thursday's lineup. It is just a scheduled day off for him. Moncada has been hitting well lately. He's currently in the midst of a 12-game hitting streak in which he's scored seven runs. Expect to see him back in the lineup for the team's cross-city matchup against the Cubs on Friday.

It's his first home run since August 9. While Moncada's power numbers have not jumped off the page this season, he's been incredibly good at getting on base, posting a .371 OBP for the year. He's also slashed .320/.433/.440 over his last seven games, heating up at just the right time to push his fantasy teams into the playoffs.

Fri Aug 20 202108:43Yoan Moncada Goes 2-For-4 In Loss To Oakland
Chicago White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada notched his second multi-hit effort of the month in Thursday's game against the Oakland Athletics. He went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and a pair of strikeouts. It's been a rough August so far for Moncada. Over 16 games this month, he's slashing .190/.299/.259 with just two extra-base hits (one home run, one double). He has 20 strikeouts over his 58 at-bats this month. Moncada was a big disappointment in 2020 as he slashed .225/.320/.385 with just six home runs over 52 games. He's been better this year, slashing .254/.368/.387 with 10 home runs over 110 games. However, he's still been a shell of the Moncada we saw in 2019, a year in which he slashed .315/.367/.548 with 25 home runs over 132 games.

Wed Aug 11 202111:46Tim Anderson, Yoan Moncada, Luis Robert Sitting On Wednesday
The Chicago White Sox are giving Tim Anderson, Yoan Moncada and Luis Robert the day off on Wednesday. Jake Lamb is getting the start at third base, Leury Garcia is starting at shortstop and Adam Engel is in center field. It's a planned day off for Robert, who returned from the 60-day injured list on Monday. Anderson and Moncada are the more surprising omissions from Wednesday's lineup. All three players should be expected to suit up for Thursday's Field of Dreams game against the New York Yankees.

Mon Aug 9 202123:16Yoan Moncada Goes Yard In Victory
Chicago White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada went 2-for-5 with two runs and a solo home run in Monday's blowout victory versus the Minnesota Twins. Moncada has been in a major funk with just a .216 batting average over his last 30 games and hopefully Monday's performance can get him going. Moncada is hitting in the middle of a dangerous White Sox lineup and now has a .256 batting average to go along with 10 home runs and 49 RBI. Moncada should continue to be rostered in all formats.

Sun Aug 8 202112:51Yoan Moncada Battling Slump
Chicago White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada enters Sunday night's contest against the Cubs trying to break out of a slump. Moncada, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI on Saturday against the crosstown rivals, is slashing .138/.194/.224 over his last 15 games. The 26-year-old has been mildly disappointing this season, hitting .256 with nine home runs and 48 RBI, but as part of a strong Pale Hose offense, he can still perk up and be a deep-league fantasy asset the rest of the way.

Fri Jul 30 202123:55Yoan Moncada Hits Ninth Home Run
Chicago White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada went 3-for-5 with two runs and a solo home run in Friday's victory versus the Cleveland Indians. Moncada caught a break in the bottom of the second inning when Indians outfielders Bradley Zimmer and Daniel Johnson collided going for a pop fly and the ball would wind up over the wall for a solo home run after a few bounces. Moncada entered the game with three hits over his last 27 at-bats, but hopefully tonight's performance is what he needs to get back on track. Moncada is now hitting .270 with nine homers and 46 RBI.

Moncada has now gone hitless in three straight games, and is slashing .111/.143/.148 over his last seven games. He's been very streaky this year, but overall has managed to put up fairly solid numbers at the plate, slashing .265/.382/.403 with eight home runs, two steals, 45 RBI and 44 runs over 92 games. He'll hope to turn things around at the plate and break out of this slump when the White Sox return to Chicago on Friday night.
