Weaver allowed two runs on eight hits through six innings to pick up a win over the Phillies on Wednesday. He struck out five and walked two in the contest.
Weaver battled through most of the evening, leaving the mound after the sixth with a 2-1 deficit before the Halos put up three runs in the bottom of the frame to allow the 31-year-old to pick up the win. Weaver has been unseated as the ace of the Angels' staff by Garrett Richards this season, but he has still been a serviceable option. He will take a 3.66 ERA into a start against the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Weaver allowed four runs on seven hits in six innings in a loss against the Red Sox on Friday. He struck out three and walked two in the outing.
Weaver looked sharp out of the gate Friday, as he didn't allow a run in his first two innings of work, but a three-spot from the Red Sox in the third followed by a mike Napoli home run in the fifth was enough to hand Weaver his seventh loss of the season. He will look to avoid the big inning when he takes a 3.68 ERA into a start against the Rangers on Friday.

Weaver tossed six innings Sunday afternoon against the Rays, giving up two runs on six hits and four walks while striking out three en route to his 12th win of the season.
Coming off of possibly his worst outing of the season, Weaver put up a nice rebound effort Sunday afternoon. The Angels' ace did not display his typical strong command, but was otherwise solid over a half-dozen frames and has now won his last five decisions. Weaver is slated to be back on the mound Friday versus the Red Sox.
Tue Jul 29 201423:28Weaver hit hard by O's but gets a no-decision
Jered Weaver was fortunate to go home with a no-decision, as he allowed six runs over five innings, but the Angels fell in 12 innings to the Orioles by a 7-6 margin.
Weaver had been pitching much better lately, allowing exactly two runs in each of his last three outings, but the Orioles were squaring him up well on Tuesday. The right-hander surrendered two home runs: a solo shot to Adam Jones, and a three-run shot to Nick Markakis. Overall, he yielded seven hits and walked four while striking out four. Now with a 3.62 ERA, a 1.16 WHIP, and a 114/42 K/BB ratio, Weaver will look to get back on track when he takes on the Rays in a road start on Sunday.

The 31-year-old has encouragingly held the opposition in the ballpark in each of his last four starts, and six of his last seven. Weaver improves to 11-6 with a 3.36 ERA and 1.12 WHIP, numbers he'll take into a rematch with the Orioles on Tuesday.

Jered Weaver left Monday's start against the Blue Jays with lower back tightness.
Weaver had thrown two perfect frames but exited after warming up before the top of the third inning. He's likely considered day-to-day, but the Angels should provide an update on his status after the game. Matt Shoemaker, who threw 102 pitch last Thursday, relieved Weaver.

On the plus side, he didn't walk a batter while striking out six. The ugly win leaves him with a respectable 9-6 record, 3.56 ERA and 1.16 WHIP on the season. Jered Weaver pitched seven innings of one-run ball Thursday in a victory over the Twins.
Weaver had given up 14 homers among his 85 hits allowed this season, but none of the eight hits he allowed today left the yard (Joe Mauer's might off, but Mike Trout got a glove on it and turned it into a double). He's given up two runs over 15 innings in his last two starts to bring his ERA back down to 3.33. Despite the homers, he's been better than the Angels should have anticipated.

Jered Weaver fanned nine while allowing two runs over six innings Friday in a victory over the White Sox.

Weaver gets the A's on the road Sunday.

Thu May 22 201400:40Weaver allows 1 run, 2 hits in CG victory
Jered Weaver yielded only two hits and one run in a complete game in Wednesday's 2-1 victory over the Astros.
Weaver whiffed five and walked only one. It's time to start wondering: Are our lying eyes deceiving us? Weaver appears to have diminished stuff, and nobody was surprised when that flatter-than-usual arsenal produced an 0-2 start with a 5.79 ERA through three starts. Since that time, he's turned in seven strong starts in a row. He's only coughed up three homers during that span -- including George Springer's solo long fly tonight -- which won't continue, but owners need to ride the wave as long as Weaver continues fooling big league hitters. Now 5-3 with a 2.85 ERA and 0.99 WHIP, Weaver has a road date in Seattle on Tuesday.

Sat May 17 201401:47Jered Weaver goes seven strong in loss
Jered Weaver pitched seven innings of two-run ball, allowing three hits, Friday against the Rays.
Diminished stuff or no, Weaver has turned in six strong starts in a row. It's mostly a result of him allowing just two homers during the span, which seems pretty fluky. Enjoy it while it lasts, but don't expect a lot of mixed-league value the rest of the way.
