Rodriguez's visa has been approved, and he should report to the Brewers' spring training complex later this week, MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports.

Rodriguez has yet to join the Brewers since the two sides agreed on a contract two weeks ago, but it appears he will not be away from the team much longer. With a few weeks to go before Opening Day, Rodriguez should have plenty of time to get ready for the start of the regular season.

Rodriguez still must pass his physical for his deal with the Brewers to become official, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

All the details of Rodriguez's two-year contract with Milwaukee have been ironed out, but the deal won't be finalized until he takes his physical at the team's spring training complex in Arizona. There is no timetable for Rodriguez to arrive to Arizona, as he is still in Venezuela waiting on his visa, but the 13-year veteran shouldn't need much spring work to prepare for the season.

Rodriguez agreed to a two-year deal with the Brewers on Thursday, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports.

Rodriguez was a late sign by Milwaukee last offseason as well, but the move paid off, as he recorded 44 saves and a 3.04 ERA over 68 frames in 2014. He'll presumably usurp Jonathan Broxton as the Brewers' projected closer, but the 33-year-old righty will likely have to prove he's still got it during camp. The terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed, but considering the stage of Rodriguez's career, it is likely heavy on incentives. Per Heyman, the deal will also contain a club option for a potential third season.

Rodriguez (5-5) picked up the win in relief against the Reds on Friday night as he pitched the ninth inning while striking out one and walking two.

The game was tied when Rodriguez came on in relief, so it was a solid win where he did not give up a run. Rodriguez has struggled of late in giving up six earned runs in his last five appearances but is tied for fourth in the league in saves with 41 on the year.

Rodriguez had a perfect ninth inning Thursday to earn his 41st save of the season.

Rodriguez struck out a batter and tossed just 11 pitches, in a much-needed clean outing. In fact, it was his first 1-2-3 appearance in a save situation since August 15.

Rodriguez had a miserable outing in a non-save situation Tuesday against the Marlins, losing the contest and allowing three runs on two hits (both of which were home runs) and one walk, while striking out one in his inning of work.

Rodriguez has been struggling of late, as he has now allowed six runs on eight hits and three walks in his last six appearances. He now has a 3.34 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 70:15 K:BB in 62 innings this year.

Rodriguez blew his fifth save of the season Wednesday, coughing up a solo home run to Rene Rivera in the ninth inning against the Padres.

It's Rodriguez' first blown save since July 25, but he has been shaky of late, giving up homers in three of his last four appearances. The 32-year-old has been taken deep 12 times this season and his 1.80 home runs per nine innings is the second highest among relievers in the league.

Rodriguez coughed up a solo homer and allowed a walk, but was still able to convert the save Sunday versus the Pirates.

It wasn't the prettiest of innings for Rodriguez, who needed 26 pitches to get the job done. The 32-year-old closer, who now has 39 saves, owns a 2.90 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 67:13 K:BB ratio in 59 innings this season.

Rodriguez served up a solo homer to Matt Kemp, but held on for his 38th save of the season Saturday.

Home runs continues to be an issue for Rodriguez, who has now surrendered nine in his last 36 frames. The Brewers have made no indication that his job is in any danger, so Rodriguez will continue to be the preferred ninth-inning option barring a surprising waiver-trade acquisition prior to the August 31 deadline.

A walk followed by a blooper that landed just beyond the range of second baseman Scooter Gennett enabled the Dodgers to send the tying run to the plate, but Rodriguez shut the door by getting Matt Kemp to ground out to end the game. Barring an addition prior to the waiver trade deadline, Rodriguez should remain the Brewers' closer for the rest of the season despite a few hiccups throughout the past two months.

Rodriguez continues to have a fantastic season, as he has just four blown saves on the year to go with a solid 2.94 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 61:11 K:BB ratio in 52 innings pitched this year.

Rodriguez recorded a one-out save Wednesday against the Rays, striking out the only batter he faced.

Rodriguez upped his save total to 31 in four pitches Wednesday. He has been the only constant in the back end of the Brewers bullpen this season, with the eighth inning in flux as of late. He will look to keep the Brewers in contention as the calendar shifts to August with the team leading the division, a far cry from a year ago where the team traded K-Rod before the deadline.

It was good for K-Rod to get back out there and have some success after blowing a save on Friday night. He yielded a one-out double to Eric Young Jr. but struck out Curtis Granderson and induced a lineout from Daniel Murphy to end it. The Brewers remain three games above the Cardinals at the top of the National League Central standings.

The homers have been one of the only issues in what's been a strong year for the 32-year-old, as he's got a 2.35 ERA and 0.94 WHIP through 38 1/3 innings of work. His 25 saves are best in the National League.
