Flaherty went 1-for-3 with a solo homer in Monday's 2-1 victory over the Yankees.
Flaherty has a modest four-game hitting streak and now has homers in two out of his last three games. He's also totaled five RBI in September. Despite the recent success, the 29-year-old second baseman supplies only occasional offense for the Orioles and is not typically counted on to provide consistent fantasy production, given his career .219 average.
Sun Aug 2 201511:34Flaherty out of lineup Sunday against Tigers
Flaherty is out of the lineup Sunday against the Tigers, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
The addition of Gerardo Parra to the Orioles' outfield mix has squeezed Flaherty out of the lineup for the last two games, with the team using Matt Wieters and Chris Davis at first base. Flaherty hadn't made a strong case for sticking around in the lineup, as he's recorded only one hit in his last seven games, spanning a total of 27 at-bats.

Flaherty will make his second consecutive start at first base Sunday against the Rays, Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
It's fourth start in five games for Flaherty, with three of those coming at first base. For now, it appears he's displaced the slumping Chris Parmelee as the Orioles' regular option at the position, but it doesn't seem likely that arrangement will hold up for long. Flaherty's defensive versatility and weak bat makes him best suited for a reserve role.

Flaherty went 1-for-2 with his fourth homer of the year -- a two-run shot -- and a walk Wednesday against the Yankees.
The O's couldn't have asked for anything more from Flaherty, who's far from a prototypical first baseman, but made his first start of the year there -- and first appearance since July 11 -- in the place of Chris Parmelee, who's been seeing most of the action at first lately. With Jonathan Schoop back and set to play pretty much every day at second, Flaherty's likely going to continue seeing minimal at-bats.
Mon Jul 6 201517:01Flaherty recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday
Flaherty was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.
With Nolan Reimold headed on the paternity list, Flaherty returns to the majors after being sent down this past weekend. The flexibility Flaherty provides makes his presence a useful piece of the Orioles lineup, though the future is unclear for him upon Reimold's return.
Sat Jul 4 201518:28Flaherty optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday
Flaherty was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.
Flaherty has endured a skid in recent weeks, failing to reach base in six of his last nine games. Consequently, his season-long line has tumbled all the way to .245/.322/.384. The move could open the door for the imminent activation of Jonathan Schoop (knee), who could return as early as Sunday.
Wed May 27 201513:14Flaherty activated from disabled list and will play at second ba...
Flaherty has been activated from the disabled list and will play at second base and bat eighth for the Orioles Wednesday against the Astros, Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Flaherty's return Wednesday marks the minimum absence from a DL stint. It's unclear if he'll return to his everyday role at second base with Everth Cabrera still on the roster, but he'll at least start Wednesday. The Orioles will need to make a corresponding move to open up a spot on the 25-man roster.

Flaherty (groin) will play in rehab games Monday and Tuesday with Triple-A Norfolk, and he could rejoin the Orioles Wednesday if everything goes off without a hitch, Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Flaherty's return Wednesday would mean he spends the minimum time on the disabled list allowed. That was believed to be a possibility when he was placed on the DL, but it sounds as though it could come to fruition if everything goes as planned. While his return could be on tap, it's unclear what role he will have with the team upon his return.

Flaherty (groin) will play nine innings at extended spring training Saturday and will begin his rehab at Triple-A Monday or Tuesday, MASN Sports reports.
Flaherty is eligible to be activated May 27. He should make just a couple of Triple-A appearances before being activated, but the second base position continues to be in flux and he is not guaranteed to have a starting job.
Thu May 21 201511:23Flaherty (groin) will begin rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfo...
Flaherty (groin) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday or Monday, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
He will play two or three games with Norfolk before the Orioles decide whether to activate him from the DL. With Everth Cabrera set to come off the DL on Friday, Flaherty's role will be less certain upon his activation.
Wed May 13 201517:15Flaherty (groin) received PRP injection Wednesday
Flaherty (groin) received a PRP injection Wednesday, and will depart to extended spring training within the next couple days, Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Flaherty made a brief return to the Orioles last week before landing back on the disabled list with an aggravated groin issue. He'll head out to the extended spring training facility in Sarasota within the next couple days, and will participate in certain baseball activities.
Tue May 12 201517:36Flaherty (groin) placed on 15-day DL Tuesday
Flaherty (groin) was placed on the 15-day DL Tuesday.
Flaherty suffered the groin injury during Monday's matchup with the Blue Jays, and the Orioles will waste no time getting him on the disabled list. With Everth Cabrera (foot) and Jonathan Schoop (knee) out of commission, the team needed immediate infield help, and used Flaherty's spot to recall Rey Navarro from Triple-A Norfolk.
Tue May 12 201516:41Flaherty (groin) may be placed on disabled list Tuesday
Flaherty (groin) may be placed on the disabled list Tuesday, MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli reports.
The Orioles have Rey Navarro waiting to join the active roster in case Flaherty is placed on the disabled list. Either way, Steve Pearce will start at second base Tuesday night against the Blue Jays.
Mon May 11 201522:20Flaherty (groin) will have MRI performed on Tuesday
Flaherty (groin) will have an MRI performed on Tuesday, Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Flaherty prematurely exited Monday's game against the Blue Jays in the third inning with a right groin injury. It seems unlikely that he'll play Tuesday, meaning that Steve Pearce could slide over to second base while David Lough enters the lineup at left field. Further news on Flaherty should be released sometime Tuesday after all his medical tests have been performed.

Flaherty left Monday's game against the Blue Jays in the third inning after appearing to aggravate his groin injury.
Flaherty just came off the DL with this injury. With the injury, Steve Pearce moved in to second base and David Lough came off the bench to play left field.
Sun May 10 201511:03Flaherty (groin) will receive start at second base Sunday agains...
Flaherty (groin) will receive the start at second base Sunday against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Flaherty tweaked his groin in his return to the lineup Friday and was held out of the lineup Saturday, but it appears to be a non-issue at this point. He was able to play the field as a defensive replacement Saturday and should fill a utility role for the Orioles going forward.
Sat May 9 201512:42Flaherty (groin) available off bench Saturday
Flaherty (groin) is available off the bench Saturday, CSN Baltimore reports.
Flaherty admitted that he "kind of aggravated" his groin injury Friday in his first at-bat back from the DL, and was sore Saturday morning. Steve Pearce will start at second base with manager Buck Showalter deciding to play it safe with Flaherty, but Flaherty will be an option off the bench.
Sat May 9 201511:44Flaherty not in lineup Saturday against Yankees
Flaherty is not in the lineup Saturday against the Yankees, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports.
Making his return from a groin injury, Flaherty went 0-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored in Friday's 5-4 loss to New York. Steve Pearce will man second base Saturday, and with no word of a setback to Flaherty, it seems likely the two players will be deployed in some sort of timeshare until Jonathan Schoop (knee) is ready to go.
Sat May 9 201509:26Flaherty 0-2 with walk and two runs in return from DL Friday aga...
Flaherty went 0-for-2 with a walk and two runs in his return from the DL Friday against the Yankees.
Flaherty settled back into his role at second base, a position he should man until Jonathan Schoop returns from the DL. That should not happen until around the All-Star break. Flaherty has been serviceable when healthy this season, slashing .281/.410/.563 with two home runs in 32 at-bats.

Flaherty (groin) was activated from the DL Friday and will play second base and hit ninth against the Yankees, MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli reports.
He was performing admirably as the Orioles' second baseman before getting hurt, but it was a small sample. Flaherty slashes .224/.288/.379 for his career, so it would be difficult to expect him to stay hot all season. Once Jonathan Schoop is healthy in a month or two Flaherty could move to a bench role or be sent to the minors.
