(AP) — Boston Red Sox right-hander Nathan Eovaldi has gone on the 10-day injured list because of an elbow injury.The team said Saturday the pitcher has a loose body in his right elbow. He has had two Tommy John operations and also had surgery last year to remove loose bodies in the elbow.Eovaldi is 0-0 with a 6.00 ERA in four starts. He allowed one unearned run over six innings in his last start Wednesday night against the New York Yankees.Boston recalled left-hander Bobby Poyner from Pawtucket. He has appeared in five games with the Triple-A club this season.Infielder Marco Hernandez is set to start a rehab assignment with Class A Salem. He didn't play last year following left shoulder surgery,Infielder Brock Holt, out with a scratched right cornea, will remain on the injured list after his rehab assignment with Pawtucket.

Pedroia had left knee surgery on Oct. 25, 2017, and was limited to three big league games in 2018, from May 26-29.He played on Thursday and Friday for Class A Greenville, going 3 for 5 with a double and a walk, and was to play nine innings for the Drive on Sunday. BOSTON (AP) — Knuckleballer Steven Wright and the Boston Red Sox agreed to a one-year contract for $1,375,000, a raise of $275,000, in a deal that avoided arbitration.An All-Star in 2016, the 34-year-old right-hander started the 2018 season late following left knee surgery and a 15-game domestic violence suspension. He made four starts and six relief appearances, went back on the disabled list in late June because of the knee, then returned in September.Wright went 3-1 with a 2.68 ERA in four starts and 16 relief appearances. LAS VEGAS (AP) — Reliever Joe Kelly agreed Thursday to a $25 million, three-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press.The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal had not yet been announced.A 30-year-old right-hander who was born in Anaheim, California, Kelly was 4-2 with a 4.39 ERA and two saves in 73 games this year for the World Series champion Boston Red Sox. Kelly pitched in all five World Series games against the Dodgers this year and did not allow a run, striking out 10 in six innings. He gave up one earned run in nine postseason appearances with 13 strikeouts and no walks.According to Brooks Baseball, his fastball averaged 98.7 mph this year. BOSTON (AP) — The World Series champion Boston Red Sox have returned to Fenway Park, carrying the championship trophy they won a night earlier.A caravan of buses arrived at Fenway on Monday night, less than 24 hours after the Red Sox beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 to win the World Series in five games, giving the organization its fourth title since 2004.A couple hundred fans and about a half-dozen TV cameras were waiting for the team.Fans started cheering when the buses arrived and roared when catcher Christian Vazquez got off the second bus holding the trophy.Manager Alex Cora got off the first bus and held his index finger aloft to acknowledge the crowd. The players grabbed their luggage and left in their vehicles — with Brock Holt tooting his horn as he drove off.
