Mon Mar 17 201422:45Joe Johnson scores 19 points vs. Suns
Joe Johnson scored 19 points on 7-of-11 from the field during Monday's 108-95 win vs. the Suns, adding five boards, five assists, one block, two steals and three 3-pointers in 29 minutes.
It was just his ninth block of the season and his seventh game with multiple steals. Johnson is also shooting the ball well these days, making 50 percent from the field over his last five with averages of 15.0 points, 4.8 boards, 3.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.0 triples. He's worth starting in all standard formats while he's going strong.

Joe Johnson hit 7-of-12 shots and two 3-pointers for 16 points, seven rebounds, zero assists and a steal in Saturday's loss to the Wizards.

Mon Mar 10 201423:14Johnson posts 14 points with two threes
Joe Johnson scored 14 points on 6-of-13 shooting (including two threes) with four rebounds and four assists in Monday's win over the Raptors.
Johnson has been productive lately with 15.1 points, 2.1 treys, 2.5 boards, 2.8 assists and 0.9 steals while hitting 45.5 percent of his shots. It's optimistic that he can keep that up but while he's doing it he should be on most 12-team rosters.

Fri Mar 7 201423:33Joe Johnson scores 21 points vs. Celtics
Joe Johnson played through an illness on Friday against the Celtics, scoring a team-high 21 points with seven boards, two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 38 minutes.
The Nets were a mess on offense tonight, making just 4-of-30 from downtown and only hitting 36.3 percent of all of their shots. Johnson missed shootaround due to his illness, but he was still able to turn in a nice game. It was his second consecutive game with 21 points and he'll look to keep it going against the Kings on Sunday.

Fri Mar 7 201418:03Joe Johnson (illness) will play vs. Celtics
Joe Johnson (illness) will play against the Celtics on Friday night.
He wasn't present for shootaround due to his illness and it may affect his playing time a little tonight. Johnson has played well over his last two games with 20.0 points per game against two good defenses in the Grizzlies and Bulls, but he's still little risky to use in daily formats.

Thu Mar 6 201400:08Joe Johnson scores 21 with 5 3-pointers
Joe Johnson hit 8-of-13 shots and five 3-pointers on his way to 21 points, two rebounds, four assists and a steal in Wednesday's easy win over the Grizzlies.
He's been playing through a jammed finger on his shooting hand, but looked much better tonight. After failing to top 11 points in four straight games, JJ has now scored 21 and 19 in his last two. Maybe the slump is officially over for the "All-Star."

Sun Mar 2 201414:22Joe Johnson struggling w/ knee, finger issues
Joe Johnson has been playing through a jammed ring finger on his shooting hand, in addition to lingering right knee tendinitis.
Johnson shot just 2-of-9 from the field on Friday, continuing a trend of inefficient performances, while backup SG Marcus Thornton blew up for 25 points on 8-of-13 shooting. The Nets may ease back Johnson's minutes to allow his injuries to heal, and either way he's been a liability in standard formats over the past month. Fantasy owners should tread lightly.

Sat Mar 1 201423:31Joe Johnson struggles in win over Bucks
Joe Johnson hit 2-of-9 shots for seven points, zero rebounds, three assists, two steals and a 3-pointer in Saturday's win.
The "All-Star" has scored 11 or fewer points in four straight games, hitting just 13-of-40 shots. Marcus Thornton blew up for 25 points off the bench, which should at least catch the attention of Johnson's owners. Paul Pierce also struggled with 12 points on 3-of-7 shooting, but was able to add eight rebounds, five assists and three steals on the night.

Sun Feb 23 201401:12Joe Johnson struggles with shot in loss
Joe Johnson hit just 5-of-16 shots for 15 points, four rebounds, one steal and one 3-pointer in Saturday's loss.
Johnson's shooting has been a concern all season, but he's still putting up numbers in other categories on most nights. He's averaging 13.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.6 3-pointers over his last five games, but is shooting just 38 percent over that stretch. He's worth owning, but simply isn't a must-start fantasy player.

Thu Feb 20 201401:13Joe Johnson looks like an All-Star in win
Joe Johnson had an all-star performance against the Jazz on Wednesday with 27 points, two boards, six assists, three steals and four 3-pointers in 38 minutes.
His previous 10 games have not been very good, averaging just 10.4 points, 2.6 boards, 1.6 assists and 0.6 steals in 29.1 minutes. His body of work while the Nets are remotely healthy is not very good, so his owners might want to view this as one last chance to try and get whatever they can for the guy who couldn't finish shooting all of his balls from the 3-point contest over the weekend.

Thu Feb 13 201422:44All-Star Joe Johnson not doing much again
Joe Johnson shot 4-of-14 from the field for 11 points with one board, one assist and one steal in 38 minutes against the Bulls on Thursday.
The All-Star heads into the All-Star break not exactly living up to that distinction. In his last five, Johnson averaged 10.2 points, 2.4 boards, 1.4 assists, 0.2 steals, 0.0 blocks and 1.6 triples on 36.7 percent from the field. He's barely even worth owning in standard leagues and his previous games with Deron Williams suggest better days might not be on the horizon either.

Sat Feb 8 201400:41Johnson leads terrible effort by the Nets
Joe Johnson was the best of a very bad bunch in Friday's blowout loss to the Nets, scoring 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting with four treys, three boards and one assist in 22 minutes.
This is a great fantasy outing considering the minutes but it's a fluky result and Joe Cool hasn't been able to hold any real value with Deron Williams in the lineup. If he can back this line up with a solid outing on Sunday against the Pelicans he could be viewed as a low-level pickup in 12-14 team leagues.

Thu Feb 6 201422:31Joe Johnson (knee) plays 28 minutes in return
Joe Johnson returned from some knee tendinitis on Thursday with eight points, two boards, one assist and two turnovers in 28 minutes.
He made it through practice and everything has gone off without a hitch since missing Monday's game. Johnson doesn't have any chronic knee issues, so his value shouldn't take a hit due to that injury alone. However, his numbers are a lot worse next two Deron Williams, so the All-Star is a classic sell-high case now that the Nets are back to full strength.

Thu Feb 6 201410:58Joe Johnson expected to play Thurs vs Spurs
Joe Johnson (knee tendinitis) is expected to play against the Spurs Thursday night.
Johnson made it through Wednesday's practice without any issues and coach Jason Kidd expects him to play Thursday night against San Antonio. Johnson had been in a mini-slump before missing Monday's game against Philadelphia and comes into Thursday night averaging 10.3 points per game over his last five contests. Johnson has had a solid season up to this point, but his fantasy owners may want to consider selling high if still possible as his troublesome knee and the return of Deron Williams aren't helping his game. Shaun Livingston and Alan Anderson will take a bit of a value hit with Johnson's return Thursday night.

Wed Feb 5 201412:05Joe Johnson (knee) back at practice Monday
Joe Johnson (knee tendinitis) returned to practice on Wednesday.
Alan Anderson and Shaun Livingston are the biggest beneficiaries of Johnson's absence, but it sounds like he could return to the starting lineup for Thursday's road game in San Antonio. Even if he does play this knee issue should be on fantasy owners' radars, as apparently it bothered him for some time before his DNP on Monday.

Sat Feb 1 201400:44All-Star Joe Johnson scores just nine points
Joe Johnson scored nine points against the Thunder on Friday with one board, two assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer.
He made the All-Star team in what might be one of the most egregious moves in the history of the All-Star Game. Johnson's splits with Deron Williams in the lineup are on opposite ends of the spectrum, so his fantasy owners should be expecting a precipitous slide in fantasy value.

Tue Jan 28 201411:15Joe Johnson slumping for Brooklyn
Joe Johnson is a combined 6-of-22 from the field in Brooklyn's past three games, but he's not worried about his shooting slump.
"It's about rhythm," he said. "Some nights, man, it finds you and some nights it don't. Probably the last three, four games, it hasn't been the luck of the draw, so to speak, for me. But as a team, we've been playing pretty well." The Nets fell by one point at home on Monday but they still have an impressive 10-2 record in January.

Mon Jan 27 201423:06Joe Johnson scores 12 points on Monday
Joe Johnson scored 12 points on 3-of-10 shooting (1-of-4 3PTs, 5-of-5 FTs) with three rebounds, two assists and two steals in Friday's tough loss to the Raptors.
Johnson has struggled since Deron Williams returned and this was his best game in about a week, and this is about as good as it's going to get when the Nets are at full strength.
