Sun Jan 26 201421:53Joe Johnson held to single-digits once again
Joe Johnson was held to single-digit points for a second consecutive game on Sunday, finishing just 2-of-7 from the field with six rebounds and one assist in 25 minutes.
He averaged well over 20 points per game for a two-week stretch earlier in January, and it may be more than a coincidence that his production is nose-diving in the four games since Deron Williams' return from an ankle injury. Patient owners should hang tight and hope that JJ bounces back in the Nets' upcoming three-game week -- after all, Williams has yet to prove he can stay healthy this season.

Sat Jan 25 201402:11Johnson scores just five points on Friday
Joe Johnson hit just 1-of-5 shots (1-of-4 3PTs) for five points with two assists in Friday's win over the Mavs.
Johnson is in hot water now that the team is getting closer to full health. He dealt with some foul issues and Mirza Teletovic stole the show with 34 points, and he'll be better on most nights, but he needs to put up big scoring numbers to make up for his other deficiencies. We don't see him doing that in 12-team formats if nobody else gets hurt.

Mon Jan 20 201420:32Iso Joe rides again, scores 25 in win
Joe Johnson was hot in the first half of Monday's win against the Knicks, finishing with 25 points, six boards, five assists, one steal and four 3-pointers on 8-of-15 from the field.

Thu Jan 16 201417:28Joe Johnson torches Hawks for 29 pts, six 3s
Joe Johnson dominated his former team in London on Thursday, finishing with a game-high 29 points, four rebounds and five assists as the Nets defeated the Hawks.
Johnson finished 6-of-8 from downtown, in the process passing Drazen Petrovic to become No. 10 in Nets franchise history for 3-pointers made. He had a streak of five consecutive single-digit scoring games from Dec. 27 to Jan. 6 but suddenly in the past five games he's averaging 24.4 points, and fantasy owners should use him until he cools off. This overseas victory will count as a road win for the Nets, who are tied with the Pistons for the No. 7 seed in the East.

Sat Jan 11 201400:29Joe Cool scores 32; Pierce adds 23 vs. Heat
Joe Johnson scored 32 points on 14-of-25 shooting with four rebounds, five assists, four 3-pointers and a steal in Friday's double-overtime win over the Heat.
Anytime the Nets are down Deron Williams (ankle) then Johnson becomes a viable option in fantasy lineups and it's that simple. Paul Pierce added 23 points, five rebounds and three assists as the Nets knocked in their fifth win in a row in the Nickname Game.

Wed Jan 8 201423:38Joe Johnson rolling again w/o Deron Williams
Joe Johnson's slump appears to be over, as he hit 8-of-17 shots and two 3-pointers for 27 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal in Wednesday's win.
JJ had scored in single digits in five straight games before Deron Williams went down with another ankle injury, but has scored 23 and 27 points in his last two, both of which featured Williams in street clothes. As long as D-Will is in street clothes, it looks like Johnson is a must-start.

Mon Jan 6 201422:24Joe Johnson scores 22 points vs. Hawks
Joe Johnson scored 22 points against the Hawks on Monday on 10-of-22 shooting, adding three boards, four assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 36 minutes.
He was a ghost over his previous five games, averaging just 7.0 points per game with little else. Johnson made the most of Deron Williams (ankle) not playing and since Deron's ankle swelled up on him, Johnson could have another nice showing on Wednesday. When the Nets are at full strength, he's not worth owning in standard formats.

Sat Jan 4 201423:18Joe Johnson hits 1-of-7 shots in loss
Joe Johnson hit just 1-of-7 shots and missed all five of his 3-point attempts on his way to two points, three rebounds and two assists in 35 minutes of Saturday's win.
Johnson hit the game-winner on Thursday, but that's the only good thing he's done lately. He's scored in single digits in five straight games and has hit just 15-of-50 shots over that stretch. He'll get hot again at some point, but should be benched until he figures it out. If you can find a more worthless 35-minute performance this weekend, we'd like to see it.

Thu Jan 2 201423:15Joe Johnson hits game-winner for Nets
Joe Johnson hit just 4-of-11 shots and a 3-pointer for nine points, four rebounds, zero assists and one steals on Thursday, but made up for it in reality by hitting the game-winning jumper to shock the Thunder.
The Nets were down 16 points and made a furious comeback, which Johnson ended for the Nets win. Despite the real-life heroics for JJ tonight, he's averaging just 9.0 points and not much else over his last five games, including four straight of single-digit scoring. You can probably do better on your waiver wire.

Mon Dec 30 201301:32Joe Johnson running cold for Nets
Joe Johnson has been hit or miss over his last four games, going for just nine and six points on 6-of-24 shooting in his last two.
He missed a game on Dec. 20 for personal reasons and scored 17 and 12 points with two 3-pointers in each of his next two games, but has struggled since. The Nets play just three games this week, and since Joe Cool has cooled off, chances are you can finder a safer start in weekly leagues.

Tue Dec 24 201301:37Joe Johnson scores 17 points in return
Joe Johnson returned after missing a game due to personal reasons on Monday with 17 points, two boards, three assists and one 3-pointer in 35 minutes.
The Nets were destroyed on their home floor, but Johnson had a solid game outside of three careless turnovers. Johnson is going to have to score more without Brook Lopez, so he'll be a low-end asset in standard leagues for his 3-pointers and points.

Fri Dec 20 201318:49Joe Johnson ruled out vs. Philly on Friday
Joe Johnson (personal) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Sixers.
The Nets will look to Paul Pierce and Alan Anderson to get most of their production on the wing while Mirza Teletovic could see plenty of shots from beyond the arc. Johnson should be considered probable for Monday's game against the Pacers.

Fri Dec 20 201318:15Joe Johnson not listed as starter for Friday
Joe Johnson is not listed in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Sixers.

Fri Dec 20 201311:06Joe Johnson (personal) game-time for Friday
Joe Johnson (personal reasons)will be a game-time decision for Friday's game against the 76ers.
Johnson missed Thursday's practice and comes into Friday's game with a big question mark next to his name due to undisclosed personal reasons. We'll be updating his status as soon as there is more information, but Paul Pierce, Mirza Teletovic, and Alan Anderson should all see a bump in their minutes if Johnson misses Friday's game.

Thu Dec 19 201314:00Joe Johnson (personal) misses Thurs practice
Joe Johnson (personal reasons) missed Thursday's practice.
Johnson has been fantastic over his last five games in averaging 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 3.8 3-pointers, but should cool off a bit with the recent return of Deron Williams and Paul Pierce. It is unclear why Johnson missed Thursday's practice, but we're listing him as questionable for Friday's game against the 76ers until more information is available.

Mon Dec 16 201323:58Johnson hits 10 triples, posts 37-7-5 line
Joe Johnson took advantage of a reeling Sixers squad in the Nets' 130-94 win on Monday, hitting a career-high 10 threes on his way to a season-high 37 points, seven rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block.
Johnson hit 13-of-20 shots and 10-of-14 threes and while he had to actually stand there and hit the shots, the Sixers have truly turned into the team that many folks thought they would be. Let this be a reminder to fire up your guys against the Sixers, but Johnson's outlook shouldn't change much based on this game. He's a top 100-120 value on the season and has benefited from absences up and down the lineup so far this year. Deron Williams went for 13 and 13 and Kevin Garnett added nine points, four boards, four assists, two steals and one block in the win.

Sun Dec 15 201311:50Joe Johnson (illness) doesn't practice Sunday
Joe Johnson (illness) didn't practice on Sunday.
We're considering him questionable to play in Monday's game vs. the 76ers, and Johnson's fantasy owners should check for updates after the Nets' shootaround. If he is able to play, he should have a solid game against the league's most lenient defense.

Thu Dec 12 201323:40Joe Johnson plays well in win over Clippers
Joe Johnson shot 8-of-13 against the Clippers in Thursday's 102-93 victory, scoring 21 points with two boards, two assists and four 3-pointers in 30 minutes.
He's been somewhat solid and has been taking better shots in half-court sets. In his previous 10 games, Johnson averaged 17.6 points, 3.3 boards, 2.9 assists and 2.3 triples in 35.1 minutes -- all above his season averages. His owners should not be expecting that type of production since most of it came without Deron Williams and Paul Pierce in the lineup. He's a classic sell-high player.

Tue Dec 10 201323:26Joe Johnson quiet as William, Pierce return
Joe Johnson hit just 3-of-9 shots and a 3-pointer for seven points, three rebounds and zero assists on Tuesday.
Both Deron Williams and Paul Pierce were back in action for the Nets, so it's probably not a coincidence that these were Johnson's fewest shot attempts since Nov. 15. We're not ready to write Johnson off completely, but now that the Nets are getting healthy again, Johnson should cool off after a nice run when Williams and Pierce were out.
