Guerrero singled in his only at-bat on Monday and is now 8-for-17 with a home run this spring.
Intriguing. Meanwhile, Juan Uribe is 2-for-21 and Guerrero has been seeing time at third base. Something to continue to watch.

Guerrero felt some pain in his left hand while swinging Sunday, but is expected to play in Tuesday's game, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports.
He will be limited to hitting off a tee Monday, but it will not keep him out for more than a day. Guerrero is a tough player to value in fantasy because he does not appear to have a place to play, although it seems he is being given a chance to compete for the third base job. Juan Uribe figures to be the starter based on his tenure with the team and his status in the clubhouse, but Guerrero is probably the better offensive player at this point, and would certainly be more intriguing as a starter in fantasy than Uribe.

Guerrero singled and homered in three at-bats Friday and is now 5-for-7 this spring.
Guerrero has started at third base both times. Juan Uribe is the presumed starter there, but if Guerrero keeps hitting, things could get interesting quickly.

Guerrero had a pair of singles in his only two at-bats in Wednesday's Cactus League opener against the White Sox.
Interestingly, Guerrero replaced Juan Uribe at third base in the sixth inning after Uribe had gone 0-for-2. It's far too early to say that Guerrero could steal third base from Uribe with a great spring, but perhaps this is worth watching.

Guerrero has indicated that he does not plan on accepting a minor league assignment and will see time at second base, third base, and the outfield this spring, the Dodgers' official site reports.
Third base might be his quickest path to at-bats given Juan Uribe's fragile hamstrings. That said, the Dodgers also have Justin Turner who can play any position and who hit .340 last year. Either way, it would seem Guerrero will need a trade or injury to have any fantasy relevance in 2015.

Guerrero has a clause in his contract that prevents him from being sent to the minors without his consent, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Guerrero also has no clear path to playing time and no real position. He's probably looking at a utility job. Complicating matters is that if traded, Guerrero can elect free agency after 2015, thus limiting his potential value on the trade front.

Guerrero's status with the club for 2015 became uncertain again this week, as the Dodgers acquired Howie Kendrick from the Angels
There was some hope for regular at-bats after the Dee Gordon trade, but the Dodgers moved quickly on Kendrick. It seems likely Guerrero open the season in Triple-A.

Guerrero probably tops the depth chart at second base for Dodgers given the Dee Gordon to Miami deal.
Guerrero of course is most famous for the "ear incident" involving Miguel Olivo, but he also batted .329/.364/.613 in 65 games for Triple-A Albuquerque. Justin Turner, Darwin Barney, and Enrique Hernandez are other options, but Guerrero has by far the most offensive upside and should lock down the job with a solid spring.
Tue Sep 23 201414:27Guerrero just 1-7 since being recalled on September 1
Guerrero is just 1-for-7 since being recalled on September 1.
With the Dodgers offense fully healthy, there simply is nowhere for Guerrero to play. Looking ahead, shortstop could be an option for Guerrero in 2015 given Hanley Ramirez's pending free agent status, but that assumes the Dodgers can quickly get comfortable with him at the position defensively. Given Guerrero's $28 million contract, we have to assume he'll have a starting job somewhere in the Dodgers' infield, but as of now, that's far from certain.
Mon Sep 1 201416:42Guerrero recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday
Guerrero was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday, David Vassegh of AM 570 FOX Sports LA reports.
Guerrero probably missed his window to pick up extensive playing time with the big club this season, but he'll at least provide the Dodgers with a high-quality insurance option for the oft-injured Hanley Ramirez in September. While there's still some questions about Guerrero's defense, his 14 doubles, five triples and 15 homers over 65 games with Albuquerque illustrate the immense power potential he brings to the middle infield.

Guerrero will reportedly be recalled when rosters expand on September 1, ESPN's Jim Bowden reports.
Dee Gordon's breakout season has kept Guerrero in the minors for the balance of the year, so between that and the whole ear fiasco, fantasy owners who had Guerrero on their rosters back in March have been sorely disappointed. He'll fill a utility role come September and then perhaps compete for an infield job next spring.

The Dodgers bypassed promoting Guerrero on Sunday after Hanley Ramirez (right oblique strain) landed on the DL, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.
Though Guerrero is slashing a robust .331/.373/.599 on the season for Triple-A Albuquerque, his .236 batting average in 14 games since returning from an ear injury never made him a viable call-up option in the eyes of manager Don Mattingly. Instead, the Dodgers will bring utility infielder Darwin Barney up from the minors.

Guerrero is 8-for-26 in his last six games for Triple-A Albuquerque and could get the call should Hanley Ramirez (side tightness) need some time on the disabled list.
Guerrero has a 1.004 OPS for the year, including 13 homers in 210 at-bats. He's been playing mostly second base this year, but he could cover short or third as needed.

Alex Guerrero (ear) has rejoined Triple-A Albuquerque.
Guerrero missed two months after Miguel Olivo bit off a chunk of his ear during a scuffle in the Albuquerque dugout in late May. The Cuban infielder has been a force offensively when healthy and still has a good chance to make his major league debut in August.

Mon Jul 21 201409:01Alex Guerrero (ear) moves rehab to High-A
Alex Guerrero (ear) went 1-for-2 with a double in his first rehab game Sunday at High-A Rancho Cucamonga.
Guerrero was 8-for-23 (.348) with a double and two home runs in seven games for the Dodgers' Arizona League team before moving his rehab to High-A ball this weekend. He played second base on Sunday at Rancho Cucamonga but saw time at both shortstop and third base in the AZL. The Cuban infielder is rehabbing from surgery to reattach a large portion of his ear that was bit off in May during a fight with Miguel Olivo. Guerrero could make his major league debut sometime in August.

Tue Jun 24 201422:54Alex Guerrero nearing return to action
Alex Guerrero (ear) will report to the Dodgers' spring training complex soon to resume working out.
Guerrero had surgery last month to reattach a large portion of his ear following an incident with former teammate Miguel Olivo. "The ear is going to make it," Guerrero's agent, Scott Boras told said. "The surgery was a success, and he won't need another surgery." Guerrero will return to a .368/.411/.737 batting line with 10 homers and 29 RBI when gets back in action.

Sat May 31 201412:50Alex Guerrero progressing after surgery
Agent Scott Boras said Alex Guerrero is progressing following surgery to reattach a large portion of his ear.
"We're still not out of the woods. But we're optimistic. The doctor gave a good report [on Thursday]," Boras told CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman. There won't be any timetable for Guerrero's return until the Dodgers know whether the ear has healed correctly. According to Boras, Guerrero has yet to decide whether to press charges against Miguel Olivo, who bit his ear in an incident in Triple-A on May 20.

Wed May 21 201412:13Alex Guerrero (ear) could miss five weeks
Danny Knobler of ESPNLosAngeles.com reports that Alex Guerrero (ear) could miss five weeks of action.
Guerrero had to undergo plastic surgery after having part of his ear bitten off by Triple-A Albuquerque teammate Miguel Olivo during an altercation Tuesday. The Cuban defector is hitting .368/.411/.737 with 10 homers and 29 RBI in 32 games this season at Albuquerque, but obviously he won't be a candidate for a promotion for a while.

Tue May 20 201418:44Guerrero involved in altercation with Olivo
Agent Scott Boras told FOX Sports' Jon Morosi that Alex Guerrero's ear was "displaced by a bite" during an altercation with Triple-A Albuquerque teammate Miguel Olivo.
Well then. It's not clear what caused the incident, but Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti said Tuesday that the club is looking into it. Guerrero is undergoing plastic surgery on his ear and it's not clear how long he'll be sidelined. The Cuban defector is hitting .368/.411/.737 with 10 homers and 29 RBI in 32 games this season at Albuquerque.

Mon May 19 201421:00Guerrero hits fifth homer in four games
Dodgers prospect 2B Alex Guerrero went 4-for-5 with two home runs, a double and two RBI on Sunday for Triple-A Albuquerque.
Guerrero's monster game capped an impressive weekend series for the 27-year-old, as he went 9-for-18 with five homers and seven RBI in four games against Fresno. The Cuban second baseman has been hitting up a storm at Triple-A this season, with a .355/.403/.691 batting line, 17 extra-base hits and 25 RBI through 31 games. However, he's likely to remain in the minor leagues until the organization is confident in his defense at the keystone or needs additional depth at the highest level.
