Wed Jan 8 201400:31Andrea Bargnani double-doubles in win
Andrea Bargnani had his fourth double-double of the season Tuesday with 13 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and a 3-pointer in a win over the Pistons.
Bargs has really been struggling, but still has the potential to get hot at any time. He's not a must-start fantasy player, but given the big role he has in New York, he should at least be held in most leagues. Even though he's not a great NBA player, he simply has to have the occasional big game for the thin Knicks.

Thu Jan 2 201423:51Andrea Bargnani plays 22 minutes vs. Spurs
Andrea Bargnani started at power forward against the Spurs on Thursday, scoring 10 points with three rebounds, one assist, one block and two turnovers on 3-of-8 shooting.
His shots are going to take a dip with Carmelo Anthony back in the lineup and he's now played in just 20.0 minutes per game over the last two. Bargnani's value is starting to trend down, but those who own him might want to hold him for Friday's game vs. Houston unless there is a hot free agent out there.

Thu Jan 2 201412:28Andrea Bargnani will start Thursday vs Spurs
Andrea Bargnani (neck) will be in the starting lineup when the Knicks face the Spurs on Thursday.
Mike Woodson will apparently be using his "big" lineup against the Spurs with Carmelo Anthony (ankle) returning from injury to play small forward Thursday. Bargnani has struggled a bit over his past five games as he's only averaged 11.0 points and 4.8 rebounds per game during that span. Il Mago's neck seems to be feeling better, however, so fantasy owners should look for a slight rebound Thursday night.

Sat Dec 28 201322:24Andrea Bargnani has a stiff neck
Andrew Bargnani said on Saturday he's been dealing with a stiff neck for the past 8-10 days.
It doesn't sound like it's something that will keep him out of the lineup for the future, but his play might be costing him minutes. Bargnani played just 18 minutes against the Raptors on Saturday with 12 points, three boards, one steal and four fouls. This is even worse when taking into account that Carmelo Anthony did not play. His best days are behind him, but he still has some life left with the Knicks lack of depth.

Sat Dec 28 201300:57Bargnani goes for 18 and 12 vs. Raptors
Andrea Bargnani scored 18 points on 6-of-17 shooting (including two threes) with 12 rebounds and two blocks in 37 minutes on Friday.
Bargnani did his damage against his old Raptors teammates and after a 16-minute outing on Wednesday owners were plenty happy to see this result. Until the Knicks have anything resembling depth in their frontcourt, or they commit to playing Carmelo Anthony exclusively at the four spot, then owners should be willing to stick with Bargs through the ups and downs.

Fri Dec 27 201310:27Andrea Bargnani expected to play more Friday
Andrea Bargnani played just 16 minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Thunder, presumably because of poor defense, but it sounds like he'll get more run against the Raptors on Friday and Saturday.
"I played him 16 minutes - I'm sure that will grow [Friday] when we play Toronto,'' coach Mike Woodson said. "He'll play more.'' Bargnani is averaging 14.1 points and five rebounds in 30 minutes per game, and while he's been slumping a bit recently, could get back on track with back-to-back games against his former team.

Wed Dec 25 201317:18Andrea Bargnani losing most of his momentum
Andrea Bargnani played just 16 minutes against the Thunder on Wednesday with nine points, two boards, one assist and one turnover.
The milk has gone bad for Bargnani over his last three, averaging 8.3 points, 3.0 boards, 0.7 assists and 0.0 triples. His best days are clearly behind him and his fantasy value is dropping considering the Knicks are worse when he's on the court. In December, the Knicks allow their opponents to shoot 44 percent from the field with Bargnani on the bench vs. 49 percent with Bargs on the court.

Mon Dec 23 201311:33Andrea Bargnani will start again vs. Orlando
Andrea Bargnani will remain in the Knicks' starting lineup for Monday's road game in Orlando.
The trio of Bargnani, Tyson Chandler and Carmelo Anthony haven't had much success this season, and Mike Woodson lamented his team's poor rebounding in Saturday's loss, but he's keeping the faith in a 'big' lineup. Given that Bargs had just three points and two rebounds in his last start, fantasy owners should look elsewhere for reliable production.

Sun Dec 22 201310:35Mike Woodson laments poor rebounding, defense
Mike Woodson said that New York's inability to rebound or defend the paint on Saturday was "embarrassing, especially when you start a big lineup."
Andrea Bargnani started at PF but he was awful in all facets of the game, finishing with just three points on 1-of-5 shooting, two rebounds, one assist and one block in 22 minutes. It wouldn't be surprising to see Woodson mix things up with a 'small' lineup vs. the Magic on Monday, sending Bargnani to the bench, but we won't know Woodson's plans until shootaround.

Fri Dec 20 201313:30Andrea Bargnani to start vs Memphis Saturday
Andrea Bargnani will get the start when the Knicks play the Grizzlies Saturday afternoon.
After coming off the bench Wednesday, Bargnani will rejoin the starting lineup Saturday as Mike Woodson attempts to counter the Grizzlies frontcourt with a bigger lineup. It remains to be seen how Woodson will use Bargnani going forward now that Tyson Chandler is back, but it is encouraging for his fantasy value to see that he may still get the occasional start.

Thu Dec 19 201300:37Andrea Bargnani commits egregious error in W
Andrea Bargnani came off the bench for the Knicks on Wednesday with 12 points, 10 boards and two 3-pointers on 5-of-16 shooting in 34 minutes.
The double-double is nice, but Bargnani made his case for bonehead play of the year tonight. With only 14 seconds left in overtime and the Knicks getting the ball back on an offensive board, Bargnani attempted a 3-pointer and it allowed the Bucks to send this game to double-OT. It's still encouraging to see him log that much playing time and he could still hold enough value in fantasy, but there will be some bumps in the road along with a lower upside. The video of the dumb shot is attached in the link below.

Wed Dec 18 201312:02Andrea Bargnani heads back to Knicks' bench
Andrea Bargnani will come off New York's bench on Wednesday, clearing room for Tyson Chandler (leg) to return to the starting lineup.
Bargnani played 17 minutes in his lone game off the bench this year, whereas he's averaging 15.3 points with 1.0 triples, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game in 32 minutes as a starter. Tyson Chandler's return is bad news for his fantasy value but owners should monitor Bargnani's role for a game or two before cutting him outright.

Tue Dec 17 201300:28Andrea Bargnani doesn't have great night
Andrea Bargnani had some putrid defensive efforts in Monday's loss to the Wizards on his way to 13 points, six boards, two assists and two blocks in 37 minutes.
Coach Mike Woodson said on Monday he could bring Bargnani off the bench as the backup center, but he added he does like a bigger lineup. While moving to the bench seems like the frontrunner with Tyson Chandler likely returning on Wednesday, the Italian could still move over to power forward. It's hard to argue Bargnani's best days are behind him this season, but he still might be able to have some value in standard leagues.

Sat Dec 14 201323:18Andrea Bargnani plays well in win over ATL
Andrea Bargnani hit 11-of-16 shots and a 3-pointer for 23 points, six rebounds, two steals and a block in Saturday's win over the Hawks.
Bargs also had 22 points, seven boards, four assists and a steal on Friday night, signaling that his slump appears to be over. Kenyon Martin is down and out, while Tyson Chandler should be back from a broken leg fairly soon, but Bargnani simply has to get minutes for the depleted Knicks. If he was dropped in your league, it's probably time to pick him up.

Fri Dec 13 201323:50Andrea Bargnani breaks out of funk in loss
Andrea Bargnani, who was averaging just 9.5 points over his previous four games, hit 9-of-22 shots for 22 points, seven rebounds, four assists and a steal.
He didn't hit a 3-pointer or block a shot, but it was nice to see him break out of the funk. This was just the fourth game of the season that he didn't have at least a 3-pointer or a block and given how banged up the Knicks are (Kenyon Martin went down tonight with an ab strain), Bargnani should continue to see plenty of opportunities going forward. With K-Mart out, if Bargs was dumped in your league, think about picking him up.

Wed Dec 11 201323:52Andrea Bargnani has another bad game
Andrea Bargnani played 27 minutes in a win over the Bulls on Wednesday, finishing with eight points, three boards, one assist, one steal and one block.
The milk has gone bad for Bargnani over his last four, shooting just 32.0 percent from the field for 9.5 points, 4.3 boards, 1.0 blocks and 0.8 triples. Things aren't looking up for his value with Tyson Chandler coming back at some point and Amare Stoudemire outplaying him, so it's not too bad of an idea to cut him for a hot free agent.

Tue Dec 10 201321:44Andrea Bargnani quiet again in another loss
Andrea Bargnani hit 5-of-17 shots for 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal in Tuesday's loss to the Cavaliers.
He didn't have a block or a 3-pointer, and has quickly cooled off, struggling like the team he plays for. He's hit just 6-of-24 shots in his last two games, scoring a total of 13 points, but is still getting enough minutes (29.4 over his last five games) to be owned in all leagues. He should bounce back tomorrow against the Bulls.

Sun Dec 8 201314:45Andrea Bargnani scores two points in loss
Andrea Bargnani scored just two points on 1-of-7 shooting against the Celtics on Sunday for two points with three rebounds and one block in 23 minutes.
The starters shot 13 percent in the first half to start this game and Bargnani was 1-of-7 at the break. Tyson Chandler (leg) will be back at some point and it would mean the Italian would take a hit in minutes. Bargnani's blocks have really helped buoy his value with 3.7 per game over previous three, so fantasy owners should be looking to sell high for anything that projects to have some decent value beyond this month.

Thu Dec 5 201321:32Bargnani ejected, plays well with 17 points
Andrea Bargnani received his second technical foul for saying something to Kevin Garnett following a made 3-pointer and was ejected from Thursday's game.
Referee Joey Crawford made the technical call and he's renowned for his numerous technical calls. Bargnani had a terrific game in the win, scoring 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting with two boards, three assists, one steal, three blocks and two 3-pointers. Bargnani's value won't be much higher than it is right now since he's coming off a six-block, 17-point game on Sunday. His value will take a hit once Tyson Chandler comes back, so plan accordingly.
