Mon Oct 21 201322:36Andrea Bargnani scores 13 in Monday start
Andrea Bargnani started at power forward on Monday and had 13 points, four boards, one assist and one turnover on 4-of-12 from the field in Toronto.
He was doing a little more dribbling than usual, and of course he was booed in Toronto. Mike Woodson still hasn't made it official that Bargnani will be the starter on opening night, but it would be a surprise if he's not. His recent back injury just adds to the concerns of drafting him, but he could bounce back from a horrendous year last season.

Mon Oct 21 201310:50Update: Bargnani (back) will play on Monday
Updating a previous report, Andrea Bargnani (back) will be in uniform for the Knicks on Monday.
Mike Woodson said he wants to experiment more with Bargnani playing center alongside Carmelo Anthony, so don't be surprised to see that lineup for stretches vs. the Raptors. Bargnani's back stiffness shouldn't be a limiting factor in the final countdown to the regular season.

Thu Oct 17 201321:44Andrea Bargnani gets three blocks Thursday
Andrea Bargnani blocked three shots against the Wizards on Thursday, scoring 13 points with two boards and one 3-pointer in 25 minutes.
He looked pretty good and actually had three of his seven shots come from within eight feet of the basket. Bargnani looks like a strong bet to get a starting nod on opening night, but his injury woes and inconsistent play make him a tough player to target late.

Sat Oct 12 201300:23Bargnani booed in his return to Toronto
Andrea Bargnani was booed in his return to Toronto for Friday's preseason game, and finished with 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting (no threes) and four rebounds in 22 minutes.
Bargnani's value is tethered to his ability to block shots and hit threes and he's not doing either so far in the preseason. It's unclear how much the pneumonia from this summer is impacting him, and in general he'll be a big-time injury risk making him nothing more than a last round flier pick in 12-14 team leagues (and probably a wasted one at that).

Wed Oct 9 201322:41Andrea Bargnani scores 12 in Knicks debut
Andrea Bargnani made his Knicks debut Wednesday and hit 3-of-8 shots for 12 points, three rebounds, zero 3-pointers and zero blocks in 19 minutes in a start at power forward.
It could have been worse, but not much. Bargnani's value used to lie in his ability to block and hit 3-pointers, but his production in those stats has really tailed off in recent years. He's also constantly injured, meaning he shouldn't be targeted until late in drafts. But if he does win the starting power forward job, he's probably going to have a handful of big games for as long as he can stay healthy.

Sun Oct 6 201318:59Woodson likes the Bargnani-Anthony combo
Mike Woodson said the forward combination of Andrea Bargnani and Carmelo Anthony is "looking good."
"It's looking good," Woodson said. "I don't know who's going to start yet. But I like the makeup of Andrea and Melo on the floor at the same time with Tyson [Chandler]." Amare Stoudemire could miss time with his knee issues, so Bargnani could see the majority of the minutes at power forward. He was horrible last year, so we're still a little apprehensive to target him in drafts.

Tue Oct 1 201320:17Melo: 'No pressure on Andrea Bargnani'
Carmelo Anthony said on Tuesday that Andrea Bargnani isn't under any pressure in New York, because all the pressure is on Anthony.
"There ain't no pressure on him,'' Anthony said. "You come in and do what you got to do and play ball. All the pressure's on me. It should be easy for him." Easy might be a strong word to use for Bargnani's ability to play basketball, but if he can stay healthy, he should have a bounce-back season as the starting PF in New York. Bargnani is still recovering from pneumonia, but it sounds like he is heading in the right direction. "My lungs are OK,'' Bargnani said. "It's a matter of getting in shape."

Mon Sep 30 201313:50Andrea Bargnani says he's not in shape
Andrea Bargnani said that he's not in shape after dealing with pneumonia this summer.
He said he's back to 100 percent, so he should have a chance to get back in shape at camp. Bargnani could start for the Knicks and with the new questions emerging about Amare Stoudemire's knee emerging, the Italian could have more on his plate than originally thought. We're still not targeting him drafts, though.

Mon Sep 23 201318:49Bargnani (pneumonia) running, working out
Andrea Bargnani (pneumonia) recently began running and working out with the Knicks, according to Raymond Felton.
Felton said that Bargnani isn't yet scrimmaging and gets winded easily due to the recent bout of pneumonia which sidelined him for EuroBasket 2013. It sounds like Bargnani will be ready to go for training camp, and we'll keep an eye on his conditioning in the coming weeks.

Sat Aug 31 201309:45Bargnani waiting for doctor's clearances
Andrea Bargnani said on Friday that he's fully recovered from pneumonia and hopes to be ready for the Knicks' training camp.
Bargnani was so sick that he couldn't leave his home until Tuesday, he hasn't been cleared to travel on an airplane, and he's unable to resume basketball activities until he gets "the go-ahead from doctors." After an injury-plagued 2012-13 season riddled with 47 DNPs, it's ominous to see him out of shape and unhealthy going into September.

Fri Aug 23 201310:01Bargnani (infection) probable for Knicks camp
Andrea Bargnani (repiratory infection) feels better and he's expected to be healthy for the Knicks' training camp in October.
Doctors no longer believe that Bargnani has pneumonia, as previously reported, but either way the ailment is subsiding. He has missed an average of 33 games over the past three seasons, and he shot under 39.9 percent from the field in limited action last year.

Tue Aug 20 201309:40Andrea Bargnani (illness) out of Eurobasket
Andrea Bargnani (pneumonia) will not participate in the Eurobasket tournament.
The event doesn't start until September 4, so it's a little disheartening that he's bee ruled out two weeks prior to that. This has been one of the strangest stories of the offseason and Bargnani can be considered questionable for training camp. If you were one of the few people that thought about targeting him, this news might change your mind.

Mon Aug 19 201317:36Andrea Bargnani expected to meet with Doctors
Andrea Bargnani (pneumonia) is expected to meet with doctors on Tuesday.
He could be out for all of Eurobasket and he's been battling this illness for over two weeks. Bargnani should be ready for training camp next month and perhaps the meeting on Tuesday with the doctors can shed some light on why he's missed so much time.

Wed Aug 14 201314:55Woodson not sure when Bargnani will return
Knicks coach Mike Woodson said he's not sure when Andrea Bargnani (pneumonia) will return to the court.
Bargnani was diagnosed with the illness recently but is still hopeful he'll be able to play for Italy in Eurobasket. Woodson said he's not sure if that's an option, stressing the Knicks want to be careful with their new addition. While we're sure Bargnani would love to represent his country, he needs to understand how important this training camp and this upcoming season are for his NBA future. It doesn't sound like the Knicks have any interest in him playing in Eurobasket at this point, so it'll be worth watching to see whether he falls in line.

Tue Aug 13 201318:04Andrea Bargnani says he has pneumonia
Andrea Bargnani said he has been diagnosed with pneumonia.
Bargnani is trying to make it back in time to play for Italy in September's Eurobasket, but his priority should be the Knicks' training camp in October. Bargnani's NBA reputation is in the toilet after flaming out as the Raptors' franchise player over the last two years.

Tue Aug 13 201313:06Bargnani cannot practice with national team
Andrea Bargnani (illness) said on Tuesday that he is at home "trying to get better as soon as possible" for practice with the Italian team for September's EuroBasket tournament.
He is dealing with a respiratory tract infection and his status remains in doubt for the entire tournament. Bargnani is expected to be ready for training camp with New York and should see plenty of minutes at power forward this season.

Wed Aug 7 201308:27Andrea Bargnani may miss EuroBasket
Andrea Bargnani may sit out EuroBasket in Slovenia because of a respiratory tract infection.
The new Knicks big man had been battling a high fever earlier in the week, and he's already been ruled out of Italy's next two games. At this point, there's no reason to believe that this will linger into training camp with New York.

Mon Aug 5 201309:14Andrea Bargnani has a 102-degree fever
Andrea Bargnani has a 102-degree fever and is questionable to play Georgia on Wednesday in an three-day exhibition tournament in Trentino.
The good news is that he appears to be over his elbow injury. On a side note, a Toronto source told the NY Post that Andrea Bargnani is not a good locker room guy. Bargnani isn't the most vocal player, but he hasn't been the type of guy that has attracts a lot of attention with based on off-the-court action. He will get a fresh start with the Knicks, but there won't be too many shots for him with Carmelo Anthony around.

Sat Aug 3 201309:58Ex-Raptor: Bargnani needed change of scenery
Former No. 1 overall pick Andrea Bargnani needed a change of scenery, according to his ex-teammate, Alan Anderson.
"A change of scenery is good for some guys, especially if they haven't took their team to where the fans or media think they should win," Anderson said of Bargnani's trade to the Knicks. "The change of scenery is good, and now he's got a little bit of weight off his shoulders going to the Knicks, with Melo, J.R. Smith, Amar'e - you've got those guys who can really help you blossom even more." Anderson also called Bargnani an "amazing player," with which he imagine some fantasy owners and Raptors fans would disagree. That said, Bargnani is an intriguing player in New York given his skill set if he can stay healthy.

Sun Jul 14 201310:14Andrea Bargnani joins Knicks in good health
Andrea Bargnani said that injuries sapped him his conditioning and strength last season, but he's now completely healthy.
"I can tell you that coming into the training camp [last summer] I was in great shape," said Bargnani. "And then after the [elbow and wrist] injury, it took me two months to get back on the court. And because of the injury, I couldn't lift weights at all for two months ... When I came back, I was weaker. It was impossible to be in shape." The Knicks invested $22.3 million in him over the next two years, while giving up draft picks and financial flexibility, and his health will be critical to their success -- he's missed 43 percent of his games over the past three seasons.
