Sat Oct 11 201417:57Andrea Bargnani: Nursing Hamstring Strain
Bargnani (hamstring) will not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Celtics, Newsday reports.
Bargnani's hamstring strain is being classified as "mild," but the team can afford to play it safe with the eight-year veteran. He may be in danger of missing Monday's tilt, and perhaps Tuesday's as well, but there's been nothing to suggest it could affect his regular-season availability.
Mon Sep 29 201412:00Bargnani enters upcoming season 100 percent healthy
Bargnani enters the upcoming season 100 percent healthy, since his previously injured elbow has been healed for the past couple months, The Wall Street Journal reports.
Bargnani tore a ligament in his elbow in January, which consequently ended his first season as a Knick after just 42 games. That came after Bargnani played just 66 games over the previous two seasons due to injury. However, after picking up his player option this offseason, a healthy Bargnani returns to New York for the final year of his contract this season. Although injuries and inefficiencies limit Bargnani's value, the Italian averaged 13.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in 29.9 minutes last season.
Tue Jul 15 201414:16Phil Jackson tries to talk up Andrea Bargnani
Knicks president Phil Jackson said he expects Andrea Bargnani to "do well" in the triangle offense this season.
Jackson has been trying to unload Bargnani's expiring contract this summer, to no avail, and he may be resigned to keeping him. "He's overlooked," Jackson said. "We have a couple of guards he likes to play with, Jose [Calderon] and Pablo [Prigioni], and I think he's going to be a surprise and a pleasant one for our fans." Bargnani missed 40 games last season and was barely worth owning in fantasy leagues while healthy, making him a gamble in the late rounds.

Sun Jun 22 201413:07Andrea Bargnani will opt in for next season
Andrea Bargnani (elbow) has reportedly informed Knicks management that he will be opting in to his contract for next season at $11.5 million.
No surprise here as Bargnani's next contract will be nowhere near that amount of money. Bargnani was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2006 draft; however, his best days are clearly behind him. Bargnani has missed an average of 38.5 games over the past four seasons, and averaged just 13.3 points and 5.3 rebounds on 44.2 percent shooting this past season. Those numbers aren't very great for a guy who is the team's fourth highest paid player.

Sat Mar 22 201410:01Andrea Bargnani (elbow) not taking contact
Andrea Bargnani (elbow) isn't able to take contact, though he has been staying in shape by running.
A report earlier in March suggested that Bargnani might miss the rest of the season, a fate which becomes more likely with each passing day. With New York thriving thanks to small lineups, there's even less incentive for Bargnani to get back onto the court.

Mon Mar 10 201423:26Bargnani could miss the rest of the season
Andrea Bargnani sad he still has soreness in his elbow and he could miss the rest of the season.
One of the team-friendly reports coming out from the New York Post was that Bargnani could return two weeks after the All Star break, but that was probably smoke to make the Knicks appear less desperate for a power forward. There is no official timetable for his return and he's probably done for the year at this rate.

Fri Feb 14 201412:02Bargnani (elbow) may return in early March?
Andrea Bargnani (elbow) "could be back two weeks after the [All-Star] break," according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.
This sounds like educated speculation rather than an official update on Bargnani's status, but a beat writer's estimate is better than nothing. How Bargs will fit back into the lineup once he's healthy is another question, as the Knicks have found some success by reverting to small lineups with Carmelo Anthony at PF.

Fri Jan 31 201410:21Andrea Bargnani has no idea when he'll return
Andrea Bargnani (elbow) called his injury "terrible" and said he has "no idea" when he'll be able to return.
A ligament in Bargnani's right (shooting) elbow is completely torn. A doctor that has not examined Bargnani estimates a 3-6 week timetable, but we know this player is not the fastest healer. Furthermore, coach Mike Woodson said he plans on sticking with his small lineup for the foreseeable future. Bargnani is safe to drop in most formats.

Sat Jan 25 201409:56Andrea Bargnani (elbow) won't require surgery
Andrea Bargnani (torn elbow ligament) will not require surgery, but he remains out indefinitely.
He hurt his right elbow twice last season but his current injury involves his left elbow, and there's no reason to own him in typical fantasy leagues. His absence ensures that Carmelo Anthony will get heavy minutes at PF for the short-handed Knicks, though the eventual return of Amare Stoudemire (ankle) and Kenyon Martin (ankle) may change the equation.

Thu Jan 23 201417:25Andrea Bargnani out w/ torn elbow ligament
Andrea Bargnani is out indefinitely after being diagnosed with a torn ligament in his left elbow.
Bargnani complained about having a "sore arm" after Wednesday's game, and it turns out that he had torn a ligament late in the third quarter. It's yet another terrible blow for the Knicks, who are already without Kenyon Martin and Amare Stoudemire due to ankle injuries. Carmelo Anthony will likely slide to PF with Pablo Prigioni shifting into the starting lineup until some big men filter back into the lineup, and backup center Jeremy Tyler should also see more action.

Thu Jan 23 201416:52Andrea Bargnani to have MRI on left wrist
Andrea Bargnani will reportedly have an MRI on his left wrist.
The test results will determine his availability for Friday's game and Bargnani's fantasy owners should stay tuned -- if he is sidelined for any length of time, the short-handed Knicks may have to deploy Jeremy Evans more often while leaning heavily on smaller lineups.

Thu Jan 23 201400:19Andrea Bargnani scores 20 in another loss
Andrea Bargnani had 20 points, four rebounds, four blocks and a 3-pointer on 7-of-12 shooting in Wednesday's loss.
He was benched down the stretch so Carmelo Anthony could play defense at the power forward spot, but it didn't matter. Bargs is a model of inconsistency, scoring 20, 5, 13, 6 and 8 points in each of his last five games, but if you need a big man who is guaranteed minutes, he is still as serviceable fantasy option.

Wed Jan 22 201417:55Andrea Bargnani in the big lineup Wed.
Andrea Bargnani is back in the starting lineup against the Sixers on Wednesday.
Pablo Prigioni gets bumped back to the bench for this game. The Sixers don't really have a big lineup with Thaddeus Young at power forward, so Bargnani figures to be in the starting lineup more often than not.

Mon Jan 20 201421:06Andrea Bargnani scores five off the bench
Andrea Bargnani scored five points in 19 minutes against the Nets on Monday with two boards and one assist.
He came off the bench today and that will be something Bargnani will have to get used to. The Knicks had him in the starting lineup on Friday against the big duo of Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, but he was bumped back to the bench against the smaller Brooklyn lineup. He's averaged just 8.4 points, 4.6 boards, 1.2 blocks and 0.2 triples over his last five, so the sample size is large enough to cut him for a hot free agent in most leagues.

Sat Jan 18 201409:44Bargnani to bench a 'possibility' for Knicks
Mike Woodson said that moving Andrea Bargnani to the bench is a "possibility," as it would allow Carmelo Anthony to start at power forward.
"I know we were great last year with Melo at [power forward]," Woodson said. "You'll probably see more four now that [Kenyon Martin and Amare Stoudemire] are out. Bargnani could possibly come off and back up Tyson [Chandler] at the center spot." In two games as a reserve this season, Bargs averaged just 9.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in 26 minutes of action.

Thu Jan 16 201421:59Andrea Bargnani scores six points vs. Indiana
Andrea Bargnani played 32 minutes against the Pacers on Thursday with six points, seven boards and two blocks on 3-of-9 shooting.
The Knicks had their frontcourt depth take a serious hit tonight with Amare Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin both going down to ankle injuries. Those two big men aren't exactly indestructible and they could miss time with their injuries. That should open up some playing time for Bargnani, which makes him a possible speculative add for some formats.

Sat Jan 11 201422:11Bargnani plays only 24 minutes at Sixers
Andrea Bargnani played 24 minutes in Saturday's 102-92 win vs. the 76ers, finishing with 10 points, four rebounds and zero blocks.
He averaged 15.0 points and 7.3 rebounds in the past three games but cooled off against the Sixers, who were even smaller than usual with Lavoy Allen (calf) unavailable. Bargnani's scoring can be useful and the occasional 3-pointer and block is nice, but most fantasy owners should be able to find better options on the waiver wire.

Thu Jan 9 201422:49Andrea Bargnani plays great in win over Heat
Andrea Bargnani turned in one of his best games of season on Thursday vs. the Heat, scoring 19 points with five boards, one block and no turnovers on 9-of-13 shooting.
He was putting the ball on the floor and got to the basket quite a bit. Bargnani took an astonishing 11 shots in the paint tonight, which is well above his season average. Before tonight, he was only taking 4.9 shots per game in the paint of his 12.6 total attempts. Bargnani has scored at least 13 points in each of his last three and is starting to heat up again.

Thu Jan 9 201418:58Andrea Bargnani (illness) ready to go vs. MIA
Andrea Bargnani (illness) will start vs. the Heat on Thursday.
He wasn't feeling well during New York's shootaround but he'll suit up and can be deployed as usual for fantasy purposes.

Thu Jan 9 201410:53Andrea Bargnani sick, iffy to play vs. Heat
Andrea Bargnani was also sick during Wednesday's practice and he's questionable to play vs. the Heat on Thursday.
Tyson Chandler and Kenyon Martin are both game-time decisions with illnesses, Beno Udrih (knee) is questionable, and both Pablo Prigioni (toe) and Metta World Peace (knee) are out. "I still expect guys to play at a high level, it doesn't matter who we play," said coach Mike Woodson. Fantasy owners should check the Knicks' injury report closer to tip-off.
