Pierce scored just five points (1-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT) with one rebound and one assist in a season-low 17 minutes Saturday.
This was the third time since Christmas that Pierce has failed to score in double-digits and the Wizards are clearly limiting his minutes, playing him over 30 minutes just three times in December. He has, however, hit a three-pointer in 14 consecutive games, but with the minutes being limited, his value is capped in standard leagues. If you can take the good with the bad, he will still have productive games, but just be prepared for nights like this.

Pierce (toe) returned to the starting lineup Friday after missing one game, scoring 14 points (6-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT).
Pierce had a great shooting night from inside the arc, considering how bad he was from three. However, his toe doesn't seem to be bothering him, considering he played 32 minutes in a win over the Heat. Pierce should be good to go for all owners now.
Fri Dec 19 201418:24Paul Pierce: (Toe) Will Play Friday
Pierce (toe) will play Friday against the Heat, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Pierce was expected to play after taking part shootaround Friday morning, and that has now been confirmed. He should be good to go, and should receive his normal minutes barring a setback with his toe.

Pierce (toe) was a full participant in morning practice Friday and is expected to play against the Heat, CSN Washington reports.
Pierce missed Tuesday's contest due to a sore right toe, but was partial participant in practce Thursday and a full participant Friday and appears ready to return to the lineup. He's averaging 13.2 points, 4.7 boards and 2.4 assists in 27 minutes with the Wizards this season.

Pierce (toe) was a partial participant in practice Thursday and is considered questionable to play Friday.
Pierce was in and out of Thursday's practice as he continues to nurse a sore toe on his right foot, which kept him out of Tuesday's game. The team is officially listing him as day-to-day, and his status for Friday's matchup with Miami will be dictated by how he feels at shootaround. Otto Porter started in Pierce's place Tuesday, finishing with 10 points and five rebounds in 22 minutes.
Tue Dec 16 201418:28Paul Pierce: (Toe) Out Tuesday
Pierce has a sore right toe and will not play Tuesday against Minnesota.
Otto Porter, who will start, and Rasual Butler figure to see all of the minutes on the wing Tuesday, and Pierce should be considered day-to-day.

Pierce scored 28 points (9-12 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT) to go along with seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in 39 minutes Monday against the Celtics.
Pierce saw extended minutes in this double-overtime game and put up big numbers as a result. He has only scored at least 20 points in a game twice this season, so don't expect him to score like this very often.

Pierce (toe) started and played 20 minutes in Friday's win over the Nuggets. He scored 11 points (4-10 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT) and added six rebounds and two steals in the win.
The Wizards won by 30, so Pierce got to rest late. He managed to miss no court time over his toe injury.
Fri Dec 5 201417:25Paul Pierce: (Toe) Will Play Friday
Pierce (toe) will be able to play against the Nuggets on Friday.
Pierce was forced out of Wednesday's game against the Lakers with a toe injury but seems to be in the clear for Saturday. The veteran is averaging 26.7 minutes per game this season and will likely play around that number against the Nuggets.
Wed Dec 3 201421:13Pierce ruled out for remainder of Wednesday's game against Laker...
Pierce has been ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday's game against the Lakers due to a toe injury.
Pierce logged 14 points and five rebounds over 24 minutes prior to exiting. The severity of the toe injury is currently unclear, so look for Pierce to be a game-time decision Friday against the Nuggets. Look for Otto Porter Jr. and Rasual Butler to log increased time for the duration of his absence.

Pierce scored a season high 25 points (8-16 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 5-7 FT) with 10 rebounds while fouling out in just 28 minutes Saturday.
This was by far Pierce's most impressive fantasy performance of the season, with the only disappointing part that he took himself out of the game by fouling out. Fantasy owners should not bank on this performance being the new norm, though as Pierce is still on a talented team with many scoring options and should return to his season average of 13 points per game going forward.

Pierce was ejected in the second quarter of the Wizards' Saturday win over the Bucks. He had just two points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, and four assists in 17 minutes before hitting the showers early.
Pierce did not provide much veteran leadership in getting kicked out after protesting fouls. He should be well-rested for the Wizards' game at Madison Square Garden against the Knicks on Tuesday.

Pierce has averaged 32 minutes per game through the Wizards' first two contests.
Pierce was limited by knee soreness during the preseason and was rested for several games to keep him healthy heading into the regular season. After playing just 28 mpg under coach Jason Kidd with the Nets last season, expectation for Pierce were muted coming into the 2014-15 season, but he's poised to play more minutes and have a bigger role on the John Wall lead Wizards this season.
Fri Oct 24 201410:35Pierce (knee) should be fine for Wednesday's regular-season open...
Pierce (knee) should be fine for Wednesday's regular-season opener in Miami, according to CSN Washington.
Pierce, who missed the final two exhibition games, is merely dealing with a bruise. He didn't log many minutes in the preseason, which is to be expected at his age. He's locked in as the starter at small forward, and the Wizards may ask him to log a few more minutes than expected while Martell Webster (back) and Brad Beal (wrist) are sidelined for the beginning of the season. Potential owners should still tread carefully, as the Wizards may eventually have a playing time crunch on the wing, and will likely want to save Pierce's legs for a potential playoff run.
Wed Oct 22 201419:01Pierce (knee) will not play in Wednesday's preseason game
Pierce (knee) will not play in Wednesday's preseason game.
He continues to deal with an undisclosed knee injury, and with Wednesday being the Wizards' last preseason game, we won't see Pierce again until perhaps the season opener. Continue to monitor his status prior to the Oct. 29 tilt against the Heat.
Mon Oct 20 201418:26Pierce (knee) will not play Monday against Pelicans
Pierce (knee) will not play Monday against the Pelicans.
Pierce is dealing with an undisclosed knee injury and will take the night off Monday. He played 23 minutes in Friday's loss to the Hornets, scoring 11 points (4-7 FG) to go with five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Sun Jul 13 201409:42Nets chose not to match offer on Paul Pierce
The Nets reportedly had the opportunity to match the Wizards' offer on Paul Pierce, but chose not to.
The Nets had Pierce's Bird Rights, and could have offered him more money than any other team, but they chose to let him walk. The Nets surrendered three future first round draft picks when they acquired Pierce and Kevin Garnett a year ago, and with Garnett's future in Brooklyn also cloudy, it doesn't look like they got much a return on that investment.

Sat Jul 12 201423:57Wizards to sign Paul Pierce on MLE, 2-yr deal
The Wizards will sign Paul Pierce on a two-year, $11 million deal, according to ESPN.com.
It's expected to be a two-year deal and work for the Wizards's mid-level exception. He will also have a player option in the second year, which makes sense after he's said multiple times he's likely to play just two seasons. The Wizards did a fantastic job here and were able to come away with a solid small forward after losing out on Trevor Ariza. Pierce will have to change his style of play a little and will likely be catching and shooting more.

Thu Jul 10 201417:27Paul Pierce admits Doc Rivers called him
Paul Pierce confirmed on Thursday that he has been contacted by his former coach Doc Rivers about joining the Clippers.
Pierce also mentioned that the free agency process will move quicker once LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony make their decisions. The two top suitors for Pierce appear to be the Nets and the Clippers, but more teams will likely be added to the mix once the top-tier free agents sign with teams. Pierce said that he will like to play for two more years, but added that he has "no idea where I'll be going next year."

Mon Jul 7 201413:19Report: Paul Pierce seeking $9-10 million
Unrestricted free agent Paul Pierce is seeking a two-year contract at about $9-10 million per season.
He said he wants to play at least two more seasons, so the two-year deal makes sense. It's tough to tell if teams are going to be willing to give up that kind of money after Pierce's game really slowed down in his first year with the Nets. He made $15.3 million last season and hasn't made less than $10 million since 2003.
