Tue Dec 25 201220:40Ray Allen OK after minor shoulder injury
Ray Allen suffered a right shoulder injury late in the fourth quarter and finished with three points, four rebounds and one 3-pointer in 22 minutes against the Thunder on Tuesday.
He got a hard screen from Kendrick Perkins and missed just one offensive possession for Miami. We highly doubt this injury should impact his status for Wednesday's game at Charlotte. On a down note, Ray's minutes have dipped to just 20.4 minutes per game over his last five contests. He hit 1.4 triples and had 1.0 steals in that span, so he was still able to hold his value in standard leagues.

Sat Dec 8 201223:25Ray Allen plays just 16 minutes vs. Hornets
Ray Allen shot well on Saturday, making 4-of-6 FGs to finish with 11 points, three 3-pointers and two assists, but he was held to a season-low 16 minutes.
Shane Battier, Norris Cole and Mike Miller all played more than Ray off the bench in this game, but we don't expect that to become a trend. Erik Spoelstra is playing around with new lineups, and with other reserves playing well he probably just saw an opportunity to rest his veteran SG. We expect him to bounce back vs. the Hawks on Monday.

Fri Dec 7 201200:15Ray Allen doesn't hit a triple on Thursday
Ray Allen scored just nine points while adding six boards, two assists and one steal in 33 minutes against the Knicks on Thursday.
Allen made 2.4 treys per game in his five games prior to tonight and this was just his second game without knocking one down from beyond the arc. He is playing over 27 minutes per game and holding mid-round value in fantasy leagues.

Thu Nov 29 201223:19Ray Allen (back) plays well on Thursday
Despite being a game-time decision on Thursday, Ray Allen (back) played well off the bench with 20 points and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes vs. the Spurs.
Allen was dealing with a sore back and it's a good sign to see him play well. Although, his owners should be aware that the 37-year-old guard is going to have to rest every once in a while. Hopefully for Miami's sake, the day he needs to rest doesn't come on a Thursday night.

Thu Nov 29 201218:24Ray Allen (back) may not play Thursday
Ray Allen may miss Thursday's game due to a sore back.
Players are dropping out of this Spurs-Heat matchup right and left. We should get official word on Allen's status before tipoff, but at this point the injury doesn't sound like a long-term cause for concern. Allen is averaging 12.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.1 3s per game this season.

Thu Nov 22 201201:54Ray Allen hits four 3s and scores 17
Ray Allen made four 3-pointers and had 17 points, three rebounds and one steal in 30 minutes in a 113-106 win over the Bucks on Wednesday.
Jesus Shuttlesworth didn't really have game in his last three contest by making a combined two 3-pointers in that span. Tonight was a good sign, but his name value probably carries more than his fantasy value.

Fri Nov 16 201201:23Ray Allen hits just one 3-pointer again
Ray Allen was quiet in 26 minutes on Thursday with just nine points, three boards, three assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.
Ray was surprisingly quiet with Dwyane Wade out of the lineup. Tonight was the second game in row where he's only made one 3-pointer and the third in his last four. He is logging 27 minutes per game on the season and should flirt with two threes per game with his new team.

Sat Nov 10 201200:42Allen keeps on firing away for the Heat
Ray Allen hit three 3-pointers on Friday against the Hawks, scoring 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting with one rebound and one assist in 24 minutes off the bench.
Allen is cruising along with early round value and if he can stay healthy he has a shot at destroying his ADP.

Tue Nov 6 201202:41Ray Allen posts a solid line against the Suns
Ray Allen scored 15 points on 4-of-9 shooting (including three treys) with six rebounds, six assists, and one steal in 28 minutes off the bench on Monday against the Suns.
The Heat blew the Suns out of the water so it makes sense that Allen would join the party, and aside from a stinker on Friday he has been very good to owners. Hopefully you didn't knock him down cheat sheets too far, as we know we might have undervalued him heading into this season.

Sat Nov 3 201223:33Ray Allen scores 23 pts w/ six 3s vs. Nuggets
Ray Allen played through a bruised right knee on Saturday, scoring 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including a 6-of-10 mark from downtown.
Allen even sealed the win for Miami with a four-point play. We mentioned that he tweaked an ankle on Friday, but apparently it was his knee -- either way, Miami's resident sniper is locked and loaded for the upcoming week. He played 29 minutes tonight, adding five rebounds, two steals and one block.

Sat Nov 3 201205:02Allen tweaks his ankle early in the game
Ray Allen tweaked his ankle early in Friday's contest, but stayed in the game and finished with five points, two rebounds, and three assists in 27 minutes.
Allen hit 2-of-5 shots from the field (1-of-3 from deep) and these are the types of nights he could have in a bench role with or without the ankle situation, but we'd tend to think the ankle had something to do with this result, regardless. Don't panic over the one outing, as Allen should be able to hold late round value coming off the bench with a near-elite amount of threes this season.

Tue Oct 30 201223:25Ray Allen scores 19 w/ two 3-pointers
Ray Allen hit 5-of-7 shots and 7-of-8 free throws on his way to 19 points, two rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers in Tuesday's win.
Allen was great against his former team tonight and is going to see a lot of open looks from downtown in Miami. If he wasn't drafted in your league and you need threes, give him a look.

Thu Oct 25 201201:52Ray Allen perfect from deep against Wizards
Ray Allen scored 13 and knocked down two triples on 4-of-8 shooting Wednesday.
Allen continues to improve his shooting as the preseason moves forward, a key point for both the Heat and fantasy owners. The former Celtic should get lots of open looks from beyond the arc this year and is worth at least a late-round pick.

Wed Oct 24 201200:03Ray Allen finds shooting touch vs. Bobcats
Ray Allen scored 15 points off the bench on 6-of-9 shooting to go with four rebounds, three assists and five turnovers.
The turnovers are unwelcome, but Allen shot the ball the best he has in weeks while playing 26 minutes. Fantasy owners will have to deal with Allen's nagging ankle injury all season, but he should still have late-round value to bolster the three-point category.

Tue Oct 23 201208:10Ray Allen dealing with daily ankle soreness
Ray Allen admitted that he's dealing with soreness in his surgically-repaired ankle daily.
"I still deal with soreness in my ankle that I work through every day," Allen said. This is concerning considering Mr. Shuttlesworth underwent offseason surgery, and it's not the first time he's said that the ankle will be an issue all year. He's been dealing with "discomfort in the ankle throughout the preseason," and although he hasn't missed any time, this is going to be something owners will have to monitor throughout the season.

Sun Oct 21 201214:13Ray Allen wants more than 3-pointers w/ Heat
The Heat want to use Ray Allen in a variety of offensive situations, not strictly as a 3-point shooter.
Ray said he "could never convince [Doc Rivers] to allow me to go down in the post," but the Heat sound ready to deploy him down low. We're not expecting a post-game renaissance from a 37-year-old SG on a stacked offensive squad, but the concept has merit. "When [opposing teams] want a guy to chase me they bring a small guy that's quick," Allen said. "So you roll to your next stunt and you post them and get them out of the game ... You put the other team in so many complicated situations that it forces their defenses to play more uncomfortable."

Fri Oct 19 201201:59Ray Allen goes cold in preseason win
Ray Allen hit just 3-of-11 shots in Thursday's preseason win over the Pistons, scoring seven points with five rebounds, three steals, and a block in 22 minutes off the bench.
The only thing that matters for Allen is his ankle, as the 3-point attempts will be there along with a substantial role as long as he is healthy. We didn't see any problems with the ankle tonight, and we expect him to be a late-round value when everything is tallied up.

Thu Oct 11 201211:53Ray Allen scores 15 off Heat bench
Ray Allen came off the bench in Thursday's win over the Clippers, hitting 5-of-11 shots and 4-of-8 3-pointers in 26 minutes.
Allen didn't do much besides knocking down the 3-pointers, and we're guessing this is going to be a standard night for him once the regular season starts. If you find yourself in need of 3-pointers in the later part of your draft, Allen is going to hit a lot of them this season. Just don't expect him to contribute in too many other areas.

Sun Oct 7 201216:59Ray Allen doesn't hit any triples in debut
Ray Allen didn't convert any threes in his first preseason game with the Heat and finished with 10 points, five assists and three steals in 25 minutes.
Allen was brought in to add shooting and he only took one attempt in this game. All the talent on the Heat makes Allen a bench player on most fantasy teams and shouldn't help out much outside of threes.
