Mon Aug 12 201320:57Colts were forced to activate Bradshaw (foot)
Profootballtalk reports the NFL forced the Colts to activate Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) from the active/PUP because he took hand-offs in practice eight days ago.
Bradshaw took a few hand-offs in a walkthrough practice last week, but the Colts classified them as "mental reps." The league investigated the situation and determined that Bradshaw had practiced, therefore he was no longer eligible for the PUP list. It's not a major concern, though, as Bradshaw should be ready to participate in some form of real practice in the coming days.

Mon Aug 12 201316:47Colts activate Ahmad Bradshaw from PUP list
Colts activated RB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot surgeries) from active/PUP.
Vick Ballard started the preseason opener, but is not long for the first-team offense. Bradshaw's foot injuries are chronic and must be managed, but he's the heavy favorite to lead Indy in 2013 carries. Expect Bradshaw to be used sparingly in the Colts' final three preseason games. In 2012 with the Giants, Bradshaw rushed 221 times for 1,015 yards (4.59 YPC) and six touchdowns. He added 23 receptions, finishing as the No. 18 overall fantasy back.

Sun Aug 4 201314:25Ahmad Bradshaw now taking practice handoffs
Ahmad Bradshaw (foot surgeries) took a "few handoffs" in Sunday's pre-practice walkthrough at Colts camp.
It's actually a violation of active/PUP rules, the list Bradshaw is on that prevents players not yet activated from participating in practice drills of any kind. We're less concerned with that and more concerned Bradshaw's participation is growing. He should be medically cleared before the start of the season.

Tue Jul 30 201313:51Bradshaw hints he won't play in August
Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) hinted Tuesday that he won't suit up in the preseason.
Asked if he needed the exhibition season to be ready for Week 1, Bradshaw replied "not really." We never expected Bradshaw to get in a full camp, but the fact that he's not even expected to practice for a "couple of weeks" is concerning given his injury history. Bradshaw's health should keep Donald Brown and Delone Carter on the roster until final cuts.

Wed Jul 24 201309:00Ahmad Bradshaw tweets that he'll be ready
Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) did not express concern over opening camp on the active/PUP list.
The Colts are just exercising extra caution with Bradshaw as he recovers from January surgery on his right foot. "For all y'all believers, just know tht I will b ready to rock. Come regular season. So, thank u, and keep believing. God-bless!" he said on Twitter. Bradshaw's solid history of playing through foot issues and performing without much practice bodes well for his 2013 outlook. He's missed just eight games over the last five seasons.

Tue Jul 23 201318:35Ahmad Bradshaw opens Colts camp on PUP
Colts placed RB Ahmad Bradshaw (feet) on the active/PUP list.
Bradshaw remained in a walking boot as of mid-June after a January procedure on his right foot. The Colts are probably just easing him into training camp, although with Bradshaw his injuries are always worth monitoring. Bradshaw can be activated from active/PUP at any time. Vick Ballard will run with the first team in the interim, though the job will be Bradshaw's once healthy.

Fri Jun 14 201316:41Ahmad Bradshaw expected to be Colts starter
The Indianapolis Star projects Ahmad Bradshaw as the Colts' starting tailback, ahead of Vick Ballard.
We've anticipated the same; Bradshaw is an upgrade on Ballard in pretty much every area, from pass protection to big-play run skills. The Indy Star does concede Bradshaw may open training camp on the active/PUP list as the Colts manage his recovery from foot surgery. He hasn't practiced with the team yet. Due to Bradshaw's injury history, the Colts could wind up keeping four running backs on the 53-man roster. Bradshaw and Ballard are locked in, and rookie Kerwynn Williams is expected to be Indianapolis' primary kickoff returner. Donald Brown and Delone Carter will compete for one roster spot.

Wed Jun 12 201310:39Ahmad Bradshaw still in a boot
New Colts RB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot surgery) remains in a walking boot.
Bradshaw's underwent his latest right foot procedure in January. He insists he'll be ready for the first day of training camp with his new team, and there's little reason to doubt him. Despite tons of missed practice time and surgeries, Bradshaw has missed just 12 games across his six-year career.

Tue Jun 11 201310:15Talks still ongoing between Bradshaw, Colts
The Colts and free agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw are still in negotiations.
Bradshaw clearly wants more than the veteran minimum and the two sides remain in "heavy negotiations." There's a little bit of urgency as the Colts kick off their mandatory minicamp Tuesday. A report has surfaced that the Patriots could have interest in Bradshaw, but that smells like an agent-driven leak intended to increase leverage in talks with the Colts. Bradshaw's best path to playing time is in Indy.

Mon Jun 10 201318:13Could Patriots get involved with Bradshaw?
Profootballtalk's Mike Florio reports the Patriots "possibly could get involved" with free agent Ahmad Bradshaw.
Bradshaw and the Colts are still talking, and they make the most sense for the 27-year-old. He could just be using New England to get the Colts to up their offer a bit. We all know the Patriots don't need another running back. The Indianapolis Star expects a Bradshaw, Colts resolution by Monday night.

Mon Jun 10 201311:04Colts still in 'heavy' talks with Bradshaw
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Colts are still in "heavy negotiations" with free agent Ahmad Bradshaw.
The Colts are simply waiting Bradshaw out. Indy is almost certainly offering the league minimum, and with no other known suitors, Bradshaw has little-to-no leverage. A deal makes too much sense for both sides not to get done.

Fri Jun 7 201310:16Colts still negotiating with Ahmad Bradshaw
The Indianapolis Star confirms the Colts are still negotiating with free agent Ahmad Bradshaw.
The waiting is the hardest part. Bradshaw's injury history leaves him precious little leverage in talks, so the Colts can afford to wait him out. It's possible the former Giant will eventually make other visits, but his market was dead silent before he was summoned to Indy on Thursday. It would be a mild surprise if a deal doesn't get done.

Fri Jun 7 201300:28Colts deal with Bradshaw 'is not dead'
Although the Colts have reached a "stalemate" in contract talks with free agent Ahmad Bradshaw, NFL Network's Kim Jones reports the "deal is not dead."
The sides are posturing at this stage, which is routine in contract talks. Jones confirms the likely temporary stalemate is "not unusual," and we'll "know more tomorrow." Bradshaw could leave Indianapolis and still wind up signing with the Colts. The fit makes a ton of sense for both sides.

Thu Jun 6 201316:21Report: Colts, Bradshaw negotiating contract
NFL Network's Kimberly Jones reports the Colts and free agent Ahmad Bradshaw are negotiating a contract, and it "looks like a deal will get done."
Bradshaw is in Indy at this very moment. The Indianapolis Star also believes the Colts' interest in the 27-year-old is "serious," not simply just tire-kicking. The fit couldn't be any better. The Colts' backfield lacks talent, and Bradshaw could easily come in and take over lead-back duties from Vick Ballard. Bradshaw is perfect for OC Pep Hamilton's West Coast offense as a supreme blocker and pass catcher. We could hear something by the end of the night.

Sun Jun 2 201323:16Ahmad Bradshaw free-agent market dead silent
Free agent Ahmad Bradshaw's (foot) market has been dead silent since an April 28 report that he'd received full clearance to resume football activities.
Bradshaw didn't so much as merit a Rotoworld blurb during the month of May. The Packers and Steelers showed pre-draft interest in Bradshaw, but each club spent high draft picks on running backs and no longer seems in the hunt. In the Top-10 Post-June 1 Free Agents column linked below, Rotoworld's Evan Silva suggests the Colts and Bucs as sensible suitors for 27-year-old Bradshaw.
