Six months shy of his 30th birthday and coming off his worst season, it's likely to be a prohibitive number for a back due $4.4 million in 2012. If released, Jacobs should draw plenty of interest as a short-yardage specialist.

Revived since his backfield mate returned, Jacobs should be a high-end flex play against the Redskins' middling run defense in Week 15.

Jacobs is making $2.9 million in base salary this season as Ahmad Bradshaw's caddy. If he plays another three years in the NFL, it likely won't be with the Giants.

Jacobs will only be a fantasy option if Bradshaw's foot woes cause him to miss time.
