Fri Oct 28 201116:35Brandon Jacobs probable for Week 8
Brandon Jacobs (knee) is listed as probable for Week 8.
The probable tag means a player is "virtually certain" to be available for his normal role. For Jacobs, that means he should get somewhere around 10 touches against the Dolphins. He'd likely need a goal-line TD to help you.

Brandon Jacobs (knee) was limited again in Thursday's practice.
Jacobs insists he has no limitations physically, so it sounds like the Giants are simply easing him back in. Thu Oct 27 201113:08Jacobs hopes to leave Giants after season
In a recent interview with Men's Fitness magazine, Brandon Jacobs made it clear that he does not envision himself with the Giants beyond this season.
Jacobs believes he and Ahmad Bradshaw have both been underutilized. "I just can't wait to get a true opportunity to get out there and show myself again," said Jacobs. "Next year, hopefully. This is a business and you have to look at it that way. ... It's going to have to be for another team, but it is what it is. It comes with the territory." Jacobs is due a $500,000 bonus in March in addition to a $4.4 million base salary in 2012. It's good bet that he'll get his wish at age 29.

Jacobs missed the two games prior to the bye due to a sprained MCL. Defensive end Justin Tuck (neck/groin) and right guard Chris Snee (concussion) also practiced Monday.

Tue Oct 18 201114:09Brandon Jacobs expects to return in Week 8
Although he missed Tuesday's bye-week practice, Brandon Jacobs (knee) insists he will return to game action against the Dolphins.
"No question about it," said Jacobs. "No doubt in my mind." The pain and swelling in his knee are "almost gone," so he'll be good to go after resting for the remainder of this week. Ahmad Bradshaw will head back to low-end RB2 status as the lead-back in a committee. It's not a bad idea to sell high in the bye week after three Week 6 touchdowns.

Brandon Jacobs (knee) has been ruled out for Week 6 against Buffalo.
Jacobs will miss a second straight game with an incredibly swollen knee. Giants S Antrel Rolle described it as "volleyball" sized earlier in the week. Jacobs will try to use the Week 7 bye to manage the swelling and get back on the practice field before Week 8. Ahmad Bradshaw may flirt with 30 touches against the Bills' weak run defense, which may be minus NT Kyle Williams (ankle).

Thu Oct 13 201112:31Brandon Jacobs (knee) misses another practice
Brandon Jacobs (knee) was participating at Giants practice Thursday.
At this point, we can consider Jacobs highly unlikely to play against the Bills Sunday. He hasn't been on the field since October 2 and the Giants have their bye in Week 7. Ahmad Bradshaw has RB1 appeal in what's shaping up as a dream matchup.

Wed Oct 12 201111:09Brandon Jacobs is still not back at practice
Brandon Jacobs (knee) will not practice Wednesday.
Jacobs hasn't played or practiced since October 2. With the Giants' bye looming in Week 7, it's very possible he'll just target a Week 8 return. Ahmad Bradshaw is looking at another 20 touches this week against a Bills defense that is giving up an astounding 5.5 yards per carry so far this season.

Tue Oct 11 201114:43Jacobs' knee was the size of a volleyball?
According to teammate Antrel Rolle, there was "no way" Brandon Jacobs could have played last week because his knee was "the size of a volleyball with the fluid in it."
"I saw his knee first-hand," said Rolle, "and I don't see how he could have played." Rolle's description and the upcoming bye suggest Jacobs' status will be very much in doubt for this week's game against a Bills defense allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing backs. Ahmad Bradshaw may be joining the ranks of the RB1s.

Sun Oct 9 201111:38Brandon Jacobs, Tuck both sidelined for NYG
Giants declared RB Brandon Jacobs (knee) and DE Justin Tuck (neck/groin) inactive for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Jacobs is dealing with a mild MCL sprain, turning Ahmad Bradshaw into a candidate for 20-25 touches. Danny Ware will serve as the backup. Mega-talent Jason Pierre-Paul will fill in once again for Tuck. The Giants will also be playing without their starting center, David Bass (burner). The rest of their inactives: WR Michael Clayton, T James Brewer, OL Mitch Petrus and CB Prince Amukamara.

Fri Oct 7 201112:00Brandon Jacobs sits out practice again Friday
Brandon Jacobs (knee) was held out of practice again on Friday.
Hardly a shocker after multiple Friday morning reports that Jacobs is dealing with a "mild" MCL sprain. The Giants may list him as a game-time decision, but Jacobs seems unlikely to play at this point. Ahmad Bradshaw will take on a bigger workload, and Danny Ware will likely function as the backup against Seattle.

It's a bit of a surprise considering Jacobs' Thursday comments, which included the phrase "just waiting to be unleashed." Jacobs expects to practice Friday, though that now seems less than a sure thing. His status is up in the air for this week's game.

Brandon Jacobs (knee) sat out Giants practice once again Thursday.
Jacobs was expected to be back today, so we're on alert now. He's scheduled to speak with the media today and update his status. If Jacobs is out or limited for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Ahmad Bradshaw is a good bet to push for 25 touches. The Giants project to be protecting a lead for most of the day.

Wed Oct 5 201111:06Jacobs on injury report with knee swelling
Brandon Jacobs was added to the Giants' injury report Wednesday due to swelling in his knee.
The Giants don't sound concerned with Jacobs. He's been listed as day to day and is scheduled to return to practice Thursday. Jacobs has three touchdowns already this season and the Giants figure to be protecting a lead against the Seahawks Sunday. He'll be a very viable flex play during this bloated bye week.
