Torii Hunter is considered day-to-day after leaving Tuesday's game against the Dodgers with a left knee contusion.

Wed Mar 26 201416:27Torii Hunter hits fifth against Phillies
Torii Hunter hit fifth Wednesday and went 2-for-3 with a double against the Phillies.
Unfortunately, he was caught stealing after both hits (the first was a pickoff). For some reason, Hunter has tried six steals (well, five plus the pickoff) this spring, through just two were successful. He hadn't tried more than two steals in any spring in at least nine years. Hunter hitting fifth today was a surprise; he's been batting second all spring. It sounds like Brad Ausmus will keep experimenting with the non-Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez spots in the lineup into April.

Fri Mar 14 201417:13Torii Hunter goes 4-for-4 in Tigers' win
Torii Hunter went 4-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a steal in the Tigers' 12-6 defeat of the Nationals on Friday.
Hunter figured to be dropped to the middle of the Tigers order after the Prince Fielder-for-Ian Kinsler trade, but he's back batting second this spring, with Austin Jackson instead hitting fifth and sixth. It's good news for his fantasy value, at least for the short term.

Torii Hunter expects to play beyond 2015.
When Hunter signed a two-year, $26 million contract with the Tigers last offseason, there was some thought in his mind that it could carry him into retirement, but the 38-year-old is now confident that it will not be his final contract in the majors. "No, it won't be. It won't be," said Hunter. "I want to play past that contract." Hunter continued to defy father time this year by hitting .304/.334/.465 with 17 home runs and 84 RBI in 144 games.
