Sam Freeman will not appear in any more Arizona Fall League games due to mild left bicep tendinitis. |
Cardinals farm director John Vuch said the tendinitis is not a big deal, but there's no reason to push the young left-hander. Freeman posted a 5.40 ERA with 18 strikeouts over 20 innings for the Cards this season and will try to win a spot in the bullpen next spring. |

It will be Freeman's major league debut when he gets into a game, as he was just called up to Memphis a couple weeks ago. The southpaw holds a 2.31 ERA and 17/8 K/BB ratio over 23 1/3 innings between Double- and Triple-A this season while holding left-handed batters to a .179 average. He'll give the Cards another lefty in the bullpen alongside Marc Rzepczynski. |
