Thu Mar 20 201422:39Kevin Martin puts up a dud on Thursday
Kevin Martin made just 2-of-5 from the field for six points vs. the Rockets on Thursday with one board, one assist, one steal and one 3-pointer in 20 minutes.
He shot just 1-of-2 from the line and this was just the seventh time all year he's made one or less free throws in a game. That has been Martin's bread and butter with 5.2 attempts per game while making 89.6 percent of those this season. This was his worst scoring game since Jan. 12 and he was kind of rolling in March with 22.1 points per game in his previous nine games, so he should bounce back on Sunday.

Sun Mar 16 201422:47Kevin Martin scores 31, makes 14-of-14 FTs
Kevin Martin neared his season high with 31 points vs. the Kings, doing the bulk of his damage with a perfect 14-of-14 mark at the free throw line.
KevMart has found his offensive groove in March, averaging 21.3 points and 1.4 threes per game, and his production is desperately needed as the Wolves attempt to keep their dwindling playoff hopes alive despite Nikola Pekovic's ongoing ankle problems. Over the past two weeks, Martin has easily been the most helpful player for fantasy owners in the FT percentage category (96.3 percent on 7.7 attempts per game).

Sat Mar 8 201400:54Kevin Martin scores 24 points vs. the Pistons
Kevin Martin made 9-of-16 from the field during Friday's 114-101 win vs. the Pistons, scoring 24 points with one board, one assist and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes.
Since returning from a thumb injury, he's averaged 21.0 points, 2.5 boards, 1.5 assists, 0.5 steals and 1.0 triples on 45.3 percent from the field and 94.1 percent from the line. Martin has shot just 21.1 percent from downtown in that span, so that's really the only part of his game that hasn't come around yet.

Thu Mar 6 201400:00Kevin Martin scores just 12 points vs. Knicks
Kevin Martin scored just 12 points against the Knicks on Wednesday with three boards, one assist and two 3-pointers.
He shot 3-of-10 tonight and 3-of-11 from the field on Monday, so his shot isn't falling right now. What's more, Martin has made just 21.4 percent of his 3-point attempts since returning from a thumb injury, but there's still not enough of a sample size to worry.

Tue Mar 4 201400:41Kevin Martin scores 22 points in 31 minutes
Kevin Martin set up shot at the free throw line all night in Monday's game against the Nuggets, making 16-of-17 attempts as part of his line of 22 points, two boards, two assists and two turnovers.
He shot just 3-of-11 from the field and couldn't get many good looks. This was his second game back from a thumb injury, but he did shoot 9-of-16 in his return, so it's probably not a strong enough correlation to say his thumb is bothering him. Martin should be owned in all leagues while he's healthy.

Sun Mar 2 201400:39Kevin Martin scores 26 in return from injury
Kevin Martin hit 9-of-16 shots, 7-of-8 free throws and a 3-pointer for 26 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals in 34 minutes in his return to action on Saturday.
Martin missed seven games with a thumb injury, but just like teammate Nikola Pekovic, didn't look like he missed a beat tonight. Get him back in your lineup.

Sat Mar 1 201414:57Kevin Martin (thumb) will return Sunday
Kevin Martin (thumb) will return to the Wolves' starting lineup on Saturday.
He felt good while practicing fully the past two days and his conditioning shouldn't be too bad since he was dealing with a thumb injury, but coach Rick Adelman may still limit his playing time as a precaution. Chase Budinger will head back to the bench with K-Mart ready to roll.

Fri Feb 28 201416:14Kevin Martin, Pekovic questionable for Sat.
Kevin Martin (thumb) and Nikola Pekovic (ankle) both went through 5-on-5 scrimmaging on Friday and are questionable for Saturday's contest vs. the Kings.
Martin's meeting with his hand specialist seems to have gone well and he's been involved in the scrimmages for the past two days. Assuming he's not dealing with pain or swelling, Martin should be in the lineup on Saturday after missing seven games. Chase Budinger and J.J. Barea would lose shots once Kev-Mart is back.

Thu Feb 27 201415:37Kevin Martin (thumb) ramps up activity Thurs.
Kevin Martin (thumb) scrimmaged on Thursday and is questionable to play vs. the Kings on Saturday.
He saw a hand specialist earlier in the week and his presence in a full-court, full-contact scrimmage is very encouraging. Chase Budinger should shift back to the bench upon Martin's return, and fewer minutes will be available for guys like Shabazz Muhammad and J.J. Barea.

Tue Feb 25 201413:45Kevin Martin won't play Tuesday vs. Suns
Kevin Martin (thumb) will not be available for Tuesday's game against the Suns.
We're still awaiting the results of Martin's meeting with a hand specialist on Monday, but the news apparently wasn't good enough to clear him to play Tuesday. We'll keep monitoring this situation for updates, but it looks like owners in deep leagues who have been rolling out Chase Budinger get a stay of execution for at least one more game.

Sat Feb 22 201413:56Kevin Martin (thumb) out through Monday
Kevin Martin will see a specialist in Los Angeles on Monday, and won't play before then.
That means he's out on Saturday at Utah and Sunday at Portland, and questionable for Tuesday at Phoenix. Chase Budinger will be relevant for a few more days.

Fri Feb 21 201413:22Kevin Martin doing some drills Friday
Kevin Martin (thumb) is participating in some drills Friday and traveling on the Wolves' road trip.
Martin met with his doctor and is progressing as expected. The Wolves say there's no timetable for his return and continue to list him as day-to-day, but it looks he is getting close. Chase Budinger will go back to waiver-wire fodder once Martin suits up.

Wed Feb 19 201419:43Kevin Martin still hopeful to play soon
Kevin Martin is "hoping he can play sometime pretty soon," according to coach Rick Adelman during Wednesday's pre-game press conference.
Martin has a doctor's appointment coming up on Friday and that should be the next update on his prognosis. He was expected to miss 2-3 weeks back on Feb. 11, so there is at least some chance he can make it back for next week's action.

Wed Feb 12 201419:29Kevin Martin to be re-evaluated on Feb. 21
Kevin Martin (thumb) said he will be re-evaluated on Feb. 21 for his broken thumb.
He has a fractured distal phalanx in his left thumb and it will not require surgery. As a reference point, Rodney Stuckey had the same injury and needed to miss about a month, so Martin coming back at the beginning of March seems like a fair expectation. Chase Budinger has benefited the most and is worth a look in standard leagues.

Tue Feb 11 201416:24Kevin Martin (thumb) out at least 2-3 weeks
Kevin Martin (broken thumb) is expected to be re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks.
He saw a specialist on Tuesday but remains without a firm timetable, and owners must prepare to be without him for a while after the All-Star break. His absence has shifted Chase Budinger into the starting lineup, while opening up some extra minutes for Alexey Shved, Robbie Hummel and J.J. Barea. Budinger is worth a long look for owners in need of scoring and 3-pointers.

Kevin Martin (thumb) will not play in Wednesday's game against the Nuggets, as expected.
Martin is out indefinitely and is not expected to return immediately following the All-Star break. Chase Budinger has stepped up as the starting shooting guard over the last two games, averaging 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0n 3-pointers a night.

Thu Feb 6 201401:14Kevin Martin scores just eight points
Kevin Martin, who tied a season high with 32 points on Tuesday, hit just 4-of-10 shots and no 3-pointers for eight points and two steals on Wednesday.
If you played Martin in a daily money league he really let you down, which was a little surprising with both Kevin Love (back) and Corey Brewer (personal) out of the lineup tonight. This was just the sixth time he hasn't scored in double digits this season, as Thabo Sefolosha put the clamps on him tonight. Look for Martin to bounce back on Friday against the Pelicans.

Wed Feb 5 201400:01Kevin Martin ties season high with 32 points
Kevin Martin hit 13-of-26 shots and four 3-pointers to tie his season high with 32 points as the Wolves handed the Lakers their seventh straight loss on Tuesday.
This was also the first time the Wolves have beaten the Lakers since way back in 2007. Martin was left unguarded for a ton of shots tonight and he made the most of it. He'll have a tougher test on Wednesday at Oklahoma City.

Wed Jan 29 201423:10Kevin Martin bounces back Wednesday
Kevin Martin hit 7-of-18 shots and a 3-pointer for 18 points, six rebounds, an assist and two blocks in Wednesday's win.
He had just eight points on Monday, but scored 26 and 30 points in his previous two games. His shot wasn't falling tonight, but he still pulled off a decent line. Keep running him out there.
