Mon Dec 20 201011:00Vujacic could start for Nets in coming weeks
Nets coach Avery Johnson hasn't ruled out starting Sasha Vujacic at some point in the next few weeks, while Anthony Morrow (hamstring) continues to recuperate.
Vujacic finished Sunday's game with 10 points, six rebounds and three assists off the bench, and his energy seems to have won over Johnson. On a humorous note, he is still waiting for new sneakers and was heckled on Sunday for wearing purple-and-gold shoes.

Sun Dec 19 201016:18Vujacic plays well in Sunday's win
Sasha Vujacic had 10 points, six boards, three assists and two 3-pointers in Sunday's win.
He played twice as many minutes as Jordan Farmar today, and his presence could really hurt Farmar going forward. While Vujacic isn't a guy you'll want to add in most leagues, he's worth keeping an eye on.
Fri Dec 17 201022:53Vujacic shoots poorly in loss to Raptors
Sahsa Vujacic made his Nets debut Friday but hit just 3-of-10 shots for six points.
He was 0-for-5 from downtown, but is going to get run with all the injuries the Nets are dealing with. Keep an eye on him.
Thu Dec 16 201018:53Sasha Vujacic out for Nets on Thursday
Sasha Vujacic will not play for the Nets on Thursday.
Terrence Willliams, who has had tardiness issues all year, didn't get his physical completed in time for Vujacic to go tonight, which is kind of funny. New Jersey and Houston both play on Friday and it would make sense that Vujacic and T-Will will be available for those games.

Wed Dec 15 201013:56Vujacic could debut for Nets on Thursday
If all players involved in the recent three-team trade pass their physicals, Sasha Vujacic could make his debut for the Nets on Thursday, with Avery Johnson saying, "We're going to need him to play immediately."
Johnson is saying nice things about Vujacic's ability to shoot, but even if Sasha does get some run in Anthony Morrow's absence, we're not expecting it to be substantial enough for him to make an impact in standard leagues. And our guess is that Avery will get frustrated by his inability to guard anyone sooner rather than later.

Wed Dec 15 201011:52Vujacic is now a Net
Nets acquired G Sasha Vujacic via trade from the Lakers.
The Nets did well to get Vujacic's expiring contract, a piece they can use in a potential Carmelo Anthony deal. But Vujacic is one of the worst defenders in the NBA, meaning it's highly unlikely he'll secure a real role under Avery Johnson. Leave Maria Sharapova's husband on waivers.
Mon Nov 1 201001:46Vujacic makes Lakers debut on Sunday
Sasha Vujacic made his Lakers debut on Sunday and had three points in eight minutes.
He's over his concussion, but will not have fantasy value this season.
Thu Oct 28 201021:31Vujacic losing minutes in the rotation
Coach Phil Jackson acknowledged Thursday that it will be difficult to get Sasha Vujacic consistent minutes this year.
Sasha may see a few more minutes against arch-nemesis Goran Dragic when the Lakers square off with the Suns on Friday, but after that he is not guaranteed minutes on a nightly basis. Even for those in massive leagues, he is not a fantasy option.

Fri Oct 22 201002:55Vujacic starts for Kobe, marries Sharapova
Sasha Vujacic drew the start with Kobe Bryant resting his knee on Thursday, and finished with nine points on 4-of-5 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds and one assist in 14 minutes.
He also reported that he had just gotten engaged to tennis star Maria Sharapova, which will clearly be the biggest accomplishment of his year, fantasy or otherwise.

Thu Oct 14 201019:41Vujacic suffers concussion in practice
Sasha Vujacic suffered a concussion during Thursday's practice after taking an elbow to his left eye from Lamar Odom.
This would presumably keep him out for a little while, but this won't be likely to impact the Lakers' rotation -- or fantasy leagues for that matter.

Tue Jul 27 201023:56Lakers hoping to unload Sasha Vujacic
The Lakers are reportedly trying to trade Sasha Vujacic, along with a first-round pick, to get his salary off their payroll.
L.A. is deep into the luxury tax and would essentially save double Vujacic's $5.5 million salary. They tried unsuccessfully to move him for Delonte West but clearly aren't concerned about the quality of the player they get back -- just the pricetag.
Thu Jul 1 201016:51Vujacic could see bump in playing time
Sasha Vujacic could see a boost in playing time next season, possibly logging heavy minutes at point guard.
With the uncertainty of free agents Derek Fisher, Shannon Brown and Jordan Farmar, Vujacic could become a key player for the Lakers next year, although Brown and Fisher could be back.

Sun May 30 201011:54Sasha Vujacic picks up flagrant on Saturday
Sasha Vujacic picked up a flagrant foul in the fourth quarter of Saturday's game after flailing his arms into Suns guard (and fellow Slovenian) Goran Dragic. He claims Dragic made comments about his family.
The incident sparked a Dragic-led rally for the Suns, and Kobe Bryant said after the game that he was ready to kill Vujacic for his stupid play. For now it appears Vujacic will keep his spot in the rotation, ahead of slumping Shannon Brown.

Mon May 17 201023:35Vujacic returns from ankle injury in Game 1
Sasha Vujacic (ankle) returned to action after a lengthy layoff in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Monday, and played just one minute with only a personal foul on his stat line.
That one foul probably kept him off the court for the rest of the game, since it came on a last second 3-point shot attempt by Grant Hill to end the first half, effectively killing any momentum created by a Josh Powell dunk on the other end. He can't afford to make dumb plays if he wants to get on the court.
Thu May 13 201009:46Vujacic looks sharp in scrimmage
Sahsa Vujacic looked good in Wednesday's scrimmage, and should be close to returning from a sprained ankle.
He hasn't played since the regular-season finale, but should get some run against the Suns.

Sun May 9 201019:43Vujacic (ankle) nearing return for Lakers
Sasha Vujacic practiced Sunday for the first time since suffering a sprained left ankle in the last game of the regular season.
Vujacic isn't likely to play against the Jazz, but should be available for the Western Conference Finals. "We're up 3-0 (against Utah), so I'm not even going to consider coming back now," Vujacic said.

Mon Apr 26 201017:35Vujacic to miss at least two more weeks
Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic (ankle) is expected to miss approximately 2-3 more weeks.
Vujacic is doubtful to play until the Western Conference Finals. He recently stopped using crutches but is still wearing a protective boot and has a ways to go before he can resume court work.

Thu Apr 15 201020:34Vujacic out indefinitely w/ high ankle sprain
Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic had an MRI on Thursday that confirmed a severe high-ankle sprain. He is out indefinitely.
"It could two weeks, it could be 10 weeks," said Lakers spokesman John Black. "But it will be on the longer end. He's not going to be back any time soon." Vujacic is averaging 2.8 points in 8.6 minutes per game this season.
