Sat Mar 29 201404:56Marco Belinelli drops 27 in start
Marco Belinelli caught fire against the Nuggets on Friday with 27 points, one board, two assists, one steal, two blocks and six 3-pointers.
He started in place of Danny Green tonight and the Nuggets didn't feel like defending him. Belinelli usually has been a letdown with added opportunity, but the added intrigue of playing him in fantasy increases with the Spurs likely to rest more guys. Of course, Bello could be one of them.

Fri Mar 28 201419:38Marco Belinelli will start for Danny Green
Marco Belinelli will start in place of Danny Green (foot) on Friday night vs. the Nuggets.
Green is out with some foot inflammation and could miss Saturday's game. Belinelli could be an interesting player to use, but he's had his fair share of disappointments for fantasy owners.

Sat Mar 22 201403:05Belinelli scores 17 points off the bench
Marco Belinelli scored 17 points off the bench on Friday against the Kings, hitting 7-of-12 shots (including a three) with one rebound, two assists, three steals and a block in just 22 minutes.
This line is pretty fluky given the opponent but he's probably in line for some decent minutes as guys get rested down the stretch, making him worth a look if you have space for a stash. As far as expecting regular value goes right off the bat, that's probably asking for too much.

Sun Mar 2 201421:39Marco Belinelli quiet in 17 minutes off bench
Marco Belinelli's playing time tumbled with Tony Parker active for Sunday's game -- he finished with five points and one assist in 17 minutes off the bench.
Belinelli averaged 16.7 points during Parker's absence and a correction was inevitable, but this was a pretty dramatic drop-off. Patty Mills maintained a 16-minute role, while Manu Ginobili scored 15 points with seven assist in 22 minutes, and Belinelli is a shaky option in standard leagues as long as those guys are healthy.

Thu Feb 27 201402:01Marco Belinelli scores 20 off Spurs bench
Marco Belinelli moved back to the bench with the return of Kawhi Leonard on Wednesday, but still hit 6-of-8 shots and four 3-pointers for 20 points and four assists.
The move to the bench is a bit of a concern, as was the strong play of Manu Ginobili tonight, but Belinelli still answered the call. He'll split minutes with Ginobili and Danny Green going forward, meaning his production could be ready to take a hit. Speaking of Green, he was quiet tonight with eight points and two 3-pointers, but did stick in the starting lineup at shooting guard.

Thu Feb 20 201402:09Marco Belinelli scores 20 again in win
Marco Belinelli started again and scored 20 points for the second straight game on Wednesday, hitting 7-of-11 shots and four 3-pointers, and adding four rebounds and a steal.
Belinelli won the 3-point contest over All-Star Weekend and has scored exactly 20 points in three of his last four games. He had 16 in the other one and has knocked down 13 3-pointers during his hot streak. He'll cool off once the Spurs get healthy, and Manu Ginobili is back (16 points), while Kawhi Leonard is very close to returning from his broken hand. This looks like a sell-high moment for Belinelli, although we doubt you can get much in return for him, despite his recent success.

Wed Feb 19 201402:31Marco Belinelli scores 20 despite Ginobili
Marco Belinelli started and finished with 20 points, four rebounds, three assists and three 3-pointers on 8-of-17 shooting in Tuesday's win.
Manu Ginobili returned from his hamstring injury tonight, but played just 15 minutes. Bello is hot over his last four games, averaging 17.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.5 3-pointers, and while he'll likely cool off again, the 3-point champ deserves to be picked up in most leagues.

Sat Feb 15 201422:22Marco Belinelli wins Three Point Contest
Marco Belinelli won Saturday night's Foot Locker Three-Point Contest.
He tied Bradley Beal in the final, then beat him with a score of 24 to get the trophy in the tiebreaker. Belinelli ranks second in the NBA for catch-and-shoot 3-point percentage among players with at least 1.0 makes per game and ranks fifth in overall 3-point percentage, so he certainly had the skill set to win this contest. This year's contest allowed players to place a rack of money balls in a spot of their choosing and all the players either went with the last spot in the court or on the first wing.

Wed Feb 12 201422:35Marco Belinelli flirts with triple-double
Marco Belinelli hit 6-of-12 shots and two 3-pointers for 16 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists on Wednesday, coming up just shy of a triple-double.
Belinelli's hot again, averaging 15.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.8 3-pointers over his last four games. He's been a little hot-and-cold this season, but is getting plenty of minutes with the Spurs dealing with so many injuries. Once they're all healthy, expect plenty of inconsistency from Belinelli.

Mon Feb 10 201422:51Marco Belinelli scores 20 in return vs. DET
Marco Belinelli scored 20 points against the Pistons on Monday after a one-game absence, adding five boards, one assist and four 3-pointers in 29 minutes.
He looked a lot better and shot 8-of-15 from the field. His 20 points were his most since the first game of 2014 and he's been a little disappointing following the injury to Manu Ginobili (hamstring). Considering Ginobili is expected back in the first game after the All-Star break, Bello is not a very attractive pickup.

Mon Feb 10 201419:06Marco Belinelli will play vs. Pistons
Marco Belinelli (back) will play against the Pistons on Monday night.
He was listed as probable for today and should not have any restrictions after missing Saturday. Belinelli has been a massive disappointment since Manu Ginobili went down, so he's not necessarily a pickup in most leagues.

Mon Feb 10 201413:37Marco Belinelli (back) probable to play Mon.
Marco Belinelli (back spasms) has been upgraded to probable for Monday's matchup with the Pistons.
He should slide back into the starting SG job, sending Cory Joseph to the bench, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Marco's minutes held in check. He's averaged 10.9 points, 1.4 threes, 2.6 assists and 0.7 steals as a starter this season, good enough for value in deep leagues.

Sat Feb 8 201417:38Marco Belinelli out Saturday w/ back spasms
Marco Belinelli's back spasms will prevent him from playing on Saturday.
He's day-to-day and might return Monday vs. the Pistons, the first of San Antonio's final two games before the All-Star break. Nando De Colo (nose) and Tony Parker (back) are both active for the Spurs, and guys like Cory Joseph and Danny Green will also pick up extra minutes with Marco unavailable.

Sat Feb 8 201412:21Marco Belinelli (back) game-time at Charlotte
Marco Belinelli (back spasms) will be a game-time decision vs. the Bobcats on Saturday.
Belinelli played 34 minutes while ostensibly playing power forward on Thursday, and it seems the activity took a toll. Owners should check back prior to tip-off for updates, but Belinelli has been a 15th-round fantasy value over the past two weeks so he's not worth gambling on in the majority of leagues. The good news for the Spurs' backcourt is that Tony Parker (back) and Nando De Colo (nose) are both expected to play.

Fri Feb 7 201400:23Marco Belinelli scores 12 points in start
Marco Belinelli scored 12 points in a start at power forward against the Nets on Thursday, adding one board, one assist and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes.
Coach Gregg Popovich is laughing at all of us. Belinelli starting at power forward is one of the more ridiculous lineup moves all season, but we can't say we're surprised. The sharp-shooting Italian has really cooled off as the season has gone on and his stats have been a little underwhelming considering all the injuries to the Spurs.

Sun Feb 2 201401:14Marco Belinelli quiet off Spurs bench
Marco Belinelli hit just 3-of-10 shots and two 3-pointers for eight points, three rebounds and one assist in 28 minutes off the bench on Saturday.
We were hoping for big things from Bello with so many of his teammates hurting, but he's only managed to score between 12 or fewer points over his last five games. He's averaging just 8.6 points, 0.8 steals and 0.8 3-pointers over that stretch, meaning he can possibly be dropped for a hot free agent if you don't need his 3-pointers. He's averaging 1.6 of them on the season, but went a couple games without hitting one that killed his recent average.

Sun Jan 26 201415:53Marco Belinelli doesn't make any triples
Marco Belinelli failed to make any 3-pointers against the Heat on Sunday with 12 points, three boards, three assists and one steal.
It was the second consecutive game without a 3-pointer, which is the first time he's had a streak of no 3-pointers. Belinelli is regressing a little bit from beyond the arc this year, but he's still at 48.3 percent from beyond the arc on the season. He should get hot with all his opportunity on the wing over the next few weeks.

Sat Jan 25 201409:45Marco Belinelli earns rare praise for defense
Marco Belinelli only scored one point in 19 minutes on Friday, but Gregg Popovich praised his defense against Kyle Korver.
He limited the Hawks' sharp-shooter to just three points on 1-of-3 shooting and his offense wasn't needed with guys like Patty Mills (18 points) and Boris Diaw (21 points) getting hot off the bench. On the whole, Belinelli should return late-round value as long as Danny Green and Kawhi Leonard remain sidelined with hand injuries.

Fri Jan 24 201423:37Marco Belinelli disappoints vs. Hawks
Marco Belinelli had a disappointing game against the Hawks on Friday with just one point, one board and two assists in 19 minutes.
He started at small forward tonight and certainly didn't make the most of it. Belinelli played 37 minutes in two of his previous three games, so this was a big surprise. The game was pretty much decided by halftime, so fantasy owners shouldn't make any hasty cuts.

Sat Jan 18 201400:09Marco Belinelli plays season-high 37 minutes
Marco Belinelli scored 14 points with two 3-pointers, four assists and one steal in Friday's loss to the Blazers, while logging a season-high 37 minutes.
The statistics don't jump out but Belinelli's stock is on the rise with Danny Green (fractured hand) out of the lineup for approximately four weeks. He's worth a look from owners in need of points, 3-pointers and assists, but he's not of much use in other categories.
