Faried (rest) will not play in Monday's game against the Grizzlies, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports.

Faried will simply sit for a day of rest, much like Wilson Chandler and Randy Foye did Sunday. He will join Ty Lawson and Danilo Gallinari on the bench, bu will likely rejoin the lineup Thursday.

Faried posted a monster double-double Friday against the Warriors with 24 points and 17 rebounds in 34 minutes of action.

Faried is averaging 16.2 points and 10.4 rebounds over the last five games, and it's becoming more obvious that his early season woes were attributed to former coach Brian Shaw. Faried has been playing significantly better under the new system, and owners can continue to ride his double-doubles for the remaining weeks.

Faried scored a team-high 19 points (7-12 FG, 5-7 FT) with 11 rebounds, a steal and a block in 28 minutes during Monday's win over the Knicks.

In the seven games that Jusuf Nurkic has missed since injuring his ankle, Faried is averaging 12.9 points, 10.3 boards, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks. Nurkic is close to returning to the lineup, however, so Faried's run of solid fantasy value could be about to end.

It's hard to gauge Faried's scoring potential on a nightly basis, but he's proven himself a valuable fantasy commodity in regard to rebounds and defensive statistics.

Faried has been dominant in the two games since Brian Shaw's firing. He has 32 points and 28 rebounds in two games this week and appears to be back on track after a seven-game slump.

Faried has been disappointing all season, and it appears his woes continue as he moves to the starting center spot. It's unclear whether it's a permanent move with Jusuf Nurkic out of the lineup, but teammate Joffrey Lauvergne (zero points, three rebounds) didn't do much to dethrone Faried either.

With the last traces of the illness that slowed him down over the weekend out of his system, Faried was able to take advantage of the defensively-soft Boston frontcourt despite leaving the game briefly in the third quarter due to a cut on his head. Look for him to find a little less room to move in the paint on Friday against the Pistons.
