To date, the vast majority of Faried's minutes have come at his natural power forward spot, but the Nuggets will look to expand his role as a small-ball five this season. However, with the likes of Jusuf Nurkic, Nikola Jokic and J.J. Hickson on the roster, it's unclear just how often Faried may find himself at center this season. Per Basketball-Reference, just 4 percent of his career minutes have come at the five, compared to 90 percent at the four.

Faried is an undersized power forward incapable of protecting the rim. In an effort to fix his defensive shortcomings, he's spent time watching film on his toughest matchups. However, with the league taking a shine to smaller lineups, some of the video may be outdated. Last season under interim coach Melvin Hunt, Faried excelled as the starting center. If he's moved back to power forward permanently, the obvious scenario, he won't be able to utilize his speed as effectively.

Faried scored 12.6 points (51% FG, 13% 3Pt, 69% FT) to go along with 8.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.8 blocks in 28 minutes per game through 75 regular season games in 2014-15.

The 25-year-old forward took a small step backwards in an underwhelming 2014-15, and will look to rebound and improve under new coach Mike Malone in 2015-16. Faried is under contract with the Nuggets through the 2018-19 season.

Faried will be rested for Wednesday's game against the Warriors, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports.

The Nuggets have nothing to play for at this point, so coach Melvin Hunt will rest both Faried and Randy Foye for the season finale. J.J. Hickson is likely to move into the starting lineup in place of Faried.

It's his fifth double-double in the last eight games. Faried stands a good chance of making it six in nine games to finish off the regular season, as the Nuggets' final game on Wednesday will be against a Warriors squad likely to be resting its key players.

Faried has been playing well under interim head coach Melvin Hunt. He's scored in double figures in seven straight games, and has 10 or more boards in four out of his past seven outings.

This was Faried's second double-double in a row. March was his best month by far averaging 14.3 points, 9.4 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and one steal in 15 games. Hopefully he can keep this up and finish off the season in strong fashion.

Faried scored 19 points (8-11 FG, 3-6 FT) with 12 rebounds, two assists and a block in 30 minutes during Thursday's loss to the Rockets.

It's his seventh double-double in his last nine games, and Faried is now averaging 16.9 points, 11.3 boards and 1.8 blocks over that stretch.

Faried will be available Thursday against the Rockets, Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post reports.

The Nuggets will have all players available Thursday after resting Faried, Ty Lawson and Danilo Gallinari on Monday against the Grizzlies.
