Thu Feb 20 201412:02Tyler Zeller on the trade block
The Cavs and Clippers are talking about a swap of Tyler Zeller for Reggie Bullock on Thursday.
Coach Doc Rivers reportedly liked Zeller back when he was the coach of the Celtics and the Clippers have no depth behind DeAndre Jordan at center. Jordan is very durable and has shown he's capable of playing big minutes, so Zeller doesn't project to be a major piece. He's obviously very expendable in Cleveland with the arrival of Spencer Hawes.

Thu Feb 20 201410:51Report: Cavs shopping Tyler Zeller
The Cavaliers are reportedly shopping C Tyler Zeller, who has had a nice two-game run in the absence of Anderson Varejao (back).
The Cavs just acquired C Spencer Hawes from the Sixers, making Zeller expendable, so it makes sense. Zeller has averaged 17.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks over his last two games, both starts for the injured Varejao.

Wed Feb 19 201423:09Ty Zeller enjoying life w/o Varejao
Tyler Zeller had 16 points, six rebounds and three blocks in Wednesday's win.
Anderson Varejao remains sidelined with a back injury and Zeller has taken advantage, averaging 17.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks over his last two games. He'll come crashing back to earth once Varejao is back.

Tue Feb 18 201422:45Tyler Zeller goes for 18 & 15 vs. Sixers
Tyler Zeller torched the Sixers for 18 points, 15 rebounds and a block on 6-of-14 shooting Tuesday in a start for injured Anderson Varejao.
Both the points and rebounds were season highs for Zeller and props are in order for owners who used him in daily money leagues. This was easily his best game of the season, if not his career, and he will be hard pressed to do it again on Magic on Wednesday, although Varejao doesn't sound likely for that one, either.

Tue Feb 11 201422:24Tyler Zeller scores 6 in start at center
Tyler Zeller started at center on Tuesday with Anderson Varejao out with back/knee/wrist issues and had six points and four rebounds in 18 minutes.
He'll get another start on Wednesday, as Varejao won't travel for that one, either. Zeller isn't exactly getting it done whether starting or coming off the bench, so we don't see a reason to pick him up at this point in time.

Tue Feb 11 201419:02Tyler Zeller will start for Cavs
Tyler Zeller will start in place of Anderson Varejao against the Kings on Tuesday.
It will be his fourth start of the season for the Cavs and it hasn't gone well. Over his last four starts, Zeller averaged just 6.3 points, 4.7 boards, 0.3 blocks and 1.3 steals in 21.0 minutes. He's only a deep-league plug and play and is a good bet to get into some foul trouble, as well.

Fri Jan 31 201402:20Tyler Zeller doesn't show up in loss
Tyler Zeller didn't show up against the Knicks on Thursday with two points, one board and one steal in 14 minutes.
He was very quiet in the second half on Tuesday and now his last three halves have basically been useless to fantasy owners. Anderson Varejao (knee) was close to suiting up in this game, so it's not going to be hard to cut Zeller in almost all leagues.

Tue Jan 28 201421:36Tyler Zeller gets a double-double in start
Tyler Zeller double-doubled against the Pelicans on Tuesday with 13 points, 10 boards, two assists and one steal in 21 minutes.
He got off to a fast start and almost had double-double at halftime and actually handled Anthony Davis nicely in the low post. Zeller could be in line for a couple more starts with Anderson Varejao (knee) listed as day-to-day, so owners in deeper leagues can look to him as a short-term add.

Sat Jan 25 201403:00Zeller out of nowhere with good stat line
Tyler Zeller scored eight points on 3-of-6 shooting with nine rebounds, two steals and three blocks against the Bucks on Friday.
Zeller logged 22 minutes off the bench against the league's worst team and we haven't blurbed him since December. If he can follow it up we'll let you know.

Sat Dec 28 201317:35Tyler Zeller plays 22 minutes as backup
Tyler Zeller played 22 minutes as the backup center on Saturday, scoring five points with 10 boards, three assists and one block.
He basically stepped into Anderson Varejao's role now that Andrew Bynum is out of the picture. Zeller checked with four minutes left in the first quarter and looks to be the main big with the second unit. He's not much of a shooter with a career 44.7 field goal percentage, but he could be a 7-7-1 type player in deeper formats. Plus, he would start should something happen to the oft-injured Varejao.

Sat Nov 23 201323:37Zeller (ankle) returns to action vs. Spurs
Tyler Zeller (ankle) returned to action on Saturday, playing 15 minutes off the bench with four points, two rebounds and one steal.
Zeller hit both of his field goals and is buried in Cleveland's rotation. He has no fantasy value.

Thu Nov 21 201316:03Tyler Zeller (ankle) questionable for Friday
Tyler Zeller (sprained right ankle) is questionable to play in Friday's game vs. the Pelicans.
He's at least traveling with the team, unlike C.J. Miles (calf) who has already been ruled out. With Zeller out on Wednesday, second-year center Henry Sims played a handful of minutes off the bench.

Tue Oct 29 201314:32Tyler Zeller (appendectomy) practices Tuesday
Tyler Zeller (appendectomy) practiced fully on Tuesday.
His status for the Cavs' opener remains uncertain but his return is on the horizon. He made 55 starts as a rookie, averaging 26 minutes per game, but Cleveland's influx of big men and Anderson Varejao's return to health have painted him into a small bench role.

Mon Oct 28 201310:25Zeller (appendectomy) not cleared to play Wed
Tyler Zeller (appendectomy) practiced on Sunday but still hasn't been cleared to play.
We'll consider him doubtful for Wednesday's season opener until further notice, though his limited role backing up Anderson Varejao makes his availability irrelevant in standard fantasy leagues.

Wed Oct 23 201316:10Cavs use option on Tyler Zeller on Wed.
The Cavaliers used their third-year option on Tyler Zeller on Wednesday.
He was thrust into a noticeable role last season due to all the injuries, playing 26.4 minutes per game in 77 outings. Zeller's role is expected to go down with the arrivals of Anthony Bennett and Andrew Bynum this year, though.

Sun Oct 20 201309:28Tyler Zeller (appendix) out indefinitely
Tyler Zeller still has no timetable for his return from a recent appendectomy, and he isn't sure if he'll be ready for the start of the season.
Zeller had the surgery last Friday. He'll fill a backup center role behind Anderson Varejao (and eventually Andrew Bynum), and he has a steep climb to fantasy relevance this season.

Sat Oct 12 201315:01Tyler Zeller has an appendectomy Friday
Tyler Zeller had an appendectomy on Friday and has no timetable to return.
He was already dealing with a hip issue, but now his appendectomy issue will likely keep him out longer than that injury. Zeller's recovery could leak into the season, but he's still not worth targeting in most formats with the Cavs revamped frontcourt.
