Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) took part in Tuesday's practice and has a chance to play Wednesday, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Kidd-Gilchrist hasn't played in nearly a month while dealing with a stress reaction in his right foot. While his presence at Tuesday's session is very encouraging, a final decision on his status for Wednesday's matchup with the Celtics isn't likely to come until after morning shootaround. Prior to the injury, Kidd-Gilchrist averaged 9.8 points and 5.5 rebounds in 23.3 minutes per game, starting all six contests in which he appeared. If the Kentucky product doesn't play Wednesday, his next opportunity will come Friday against Memphis.
Wed Dec 3 201418:21Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: (Foot) Out At Least Another Week
Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) will not return until next Wednesday at the earliest, the Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell reports.
We had been waiting for a timetable on MKG, and now we have one. Gerald Henderson and P.J. Hairston should continue to see plenty of run with Kidd-Gilchrist sidelined. Consider him questionable for next Wednesday's game against the Celtics.
Tue Dec 2 201417:01Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) will not play Wednesday against Bulls
Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) will not play Wednesday against the Bulls, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Kidd-Gilchrist will miss his 11th straight game as he continues to battle a stress reaction in his right foot. He's without a concrete return timeline, so continue to evaluate his status on a game-to-game basis until the team releases a more detailed report. With Gary Neal (shoulder) and Marvin Williams (shoulder) both considered questionable, Gerald Henderson should be in line for major minutes Wednesday.
Sun Nov 23 201416:48Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) could miss extended time
Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) could miss extended time, as team doctors are currently not allowing him to jump, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Kidd-Gilchrist has already missed four games with a stress reaction in his right foot, and it appears the team is being very cautious with his recovery. A return timetable has not been provided, but at this point it's difficult to imagine Kidd-Gilchrist returning any time in the immediate future. That means Gerald Henderson will likely continue to start at small forward, with Gary Neal seeing increased minutes off the bench.
Thu Nov 20 201419:16Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: (Foot) Ruled Out Friday
Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) won't play in Friday's game against the Magic, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Kidd-Gilchrist has been sidelined for three games already with a stress reaction in his foot, and Friday's game will make it four. Gary Neal (concussion), who is expected to return and Gerald Henderson (started Wednesday) would be the top candidates to start in his absence.

Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Pacers.
It will be the third straight absence for Kidd-Gilchrist, who's dealing with a stress reaction in his right foot. Coach Steve Clifford started Gerald Henderson in Kidd-Gilchrist's place in Monday's blowout loss to Dallas, and that will likely be the case again Wednesday, as Gary Neal (concussion) has been ruled out, and P.J. Hairston (ankle) is doubtful.

Kidd-Gilchrist (foot) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Dallas Mavericks, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Kidd-Gilchrist has missed the last two games due to the stress reaction in his right foot, but will continue to sit out, as he's yet to get healthy. He should be considered questionable for Wednesday's game against the Indiana Pacers. The Hornets will most likely continue to go with Marvin Williams and P.J. Hairston at the forward positions.
Fri Nov 14 201412:46Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: (Foot) Out At Least Two Games
Kidd-Gilchrist has a stress reaction in his right foot and will miss at least two games, the Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell reports.
This rules him out Friday and Saturday, with Monday's game against the Mavericks being the earliest he could return to action. It's not clear how MKG suffered the injury, but owners should stay away from him in daily leagues for the time being. Look for the Hornets to use a small lineup with Lance Stephenson shifting to the three and Gary Neal getting some extra run at the two.

Kidd-Gilchrist returned Friday against the Hawks after missing the past two games with a bruised chest, scoring 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-3 FT).
This was Kidd-Gilchrist's third game in four starts with double-digit points. He also had four rebounds, two assists and a block. During the fourth quarter, Kidd-Gilchrist had to go to the bench for a bloody nose, but his chest seems to be fine now.
Fri Nov 7 201417:53Kidd-Gilchrist (chest) will play Friday against Hawks
Kidd-Gilchrist (chest) will play Friday against the Hawks, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Kidd-Gilchrist sat out the last two games with a chest bruise, but considering he was probable for Friday, it's not all that surprising that he's making a return. He'll rejoin the starting lineup at small forward and push Gerald Henderson back to a bench role.

Kidd-Gilchrist (chest) is listed as probable for Friday's matchup with the Hawks.
A chest bruise kept Kidd-Gilchrist out of the last two games, but all signs point to him returning Friday. While coach Steve Clifford has not officially announced a starting lineup, Kidd-Gilchrist will likely reclaim his spot from Gerald Henderson.

Kidd-Gilchrist (chest) will not play in Wednesday's game versus the Heat, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Kidd-Gilchrist suffered a rib contusion over the weekend, which prevented him from playing Tuesday night as well. With MKG out for another game, Gerald Henderson will probably start once again for the Hornets on Wednesday.
Tue Nov 4 201412:26Kidd-Gilchrist (chest) will not play Tuesday against Pelicans
Kidd-Gilchrist (chest) will not play Tuesday against the Pelicans, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Kidd-Gilchrist sustained a chest contusion Saturday against the Knicks, which limited him to only 10 minutes. He'll take the night off Tuesday, allowing Gerald Henderson to make his first start of the season.
Mon Nov 3 201412:46Kidd-Gilchrist (chest contusion) questionable for Tuesday's game
Kidd-Gilchrist (chest contusion) is questionable for Tuesday's game, but there likely won't be an update on his status until late Tuesday morning, the Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell reports.
The Hornets didn't have practice Monday, so there won't be a report on how MKG is feeling until after fantasy lineups have locked for the week, making him a risky play in weekly leagues.

Updating a previous note: The chest injury that Kidd-Gilchrist suffered during Sunday's game against the Knicks has been diagnosed as a rib contusion, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Kidd-Gilchrist had to leave the game after playing in only nine minutes of action. Considering the injury turned out to only be a bruised rib, he'll most likely be day-to-day and considered questionable for the Hornets next matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans Tuesday.

Kidd-Gilchrist left Sunday's game against the Knicks with a chest injury and wasn't able to return, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Kidd-Gilchrist took a hard fall during Sunday's game, and eventually had to head to the locker room to get a CT scan on his chest. He was then ruled out. The extent of the injury is unknown at this time, but we should know more following the game and into Monday. Kidd-Gilchrist finished with six points, three rebounds, a steal, and a blocked shot in nine minutes of action before he was forced from the game.

Kidd-Gilchrist contributed 11 points (2-4 FG, 7-10 FT), 12 rebounds and one assist in 28 minutes during the Hornets' 71-69 loss versus the Grizzlies on Saturday.
It was a sloppy game, but that didn't stop Kidd-Gilchrist from delivering an extremely efficient performance, and he's been a real bright spot early for the Hornets. He should continue to start and earn the majority of minutes at small forward, and provided his offensive output thus far isn't a fluke, he should hold decent value in most leagues during 2014-15.

Kidd-Gilchrist scored 17 points (6-8 FG, 5-6 FT) with eight rebounds, three assists and three blocks in 34 minutes during Wednesday's OT win over the Bucks.
MKG came out of the gate flying, and after shooting just 61% on his free throws last season his performance at the line in the opener has to be very encouraging. He may not be a main cog in the Hornets' offense, but he may be poised to take his game to the next level in his third NBA campaign. If Kidd-Gilchrist is on your waiver wire and you have space on your bench, consider scooping him up.

Kidd-Gilchrist started at small forward for the Hornets in Wednesday's preseason game against the Sixers, scoring 11 points (3-8 FG, 5-6 FT) with seven rebounds, two steals and a block in 27 minutes.
Gerald Henderson's hamstring injury is giving Kidd-Gilchrist a head start in their battle for a starting role, but he didn't exactly set the world on fire in this one. MKG and his retooled jump shot might need to show a little more on the offensive end if he wants to lock up the job before Henderson gets back in a week or two.
Tue Sep 30 201413:31Kidd-Gilchrist has revamped jumpshot this season
Kidd-Gilchrist has revamped his jumpshot this season, the Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell reports. "I've never seen a player's shooting mechanics change more in a year than his have," coach Steve Clifford said.
One of the best all-around defenders in the league, Kidd-Gilchrist's struggles on the other end of the court have been well-publicized. As of last season, he was the owner of - hands down, with apologies to Udonis Haslem - the ugliest jumpshot in the league. More than 72 percent of his field goal attempts in 2013-14 came from within 10 feet, and he shot a paltry 15.4 percent from 10-16 feet. The Kentucky product has only attempted 18 three-pointers in more than 3,500 career minutes - a major disadvantage for a team devoid of consistent perimeter threats. A wait-and-see approach is the best course of action here, but if Kidd-Gilchrist's jumper improves even slightly, it will be a major boost to his chances of retaining his starting spot.
