Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) is currently limited to light shooting and dribbling, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Kidd-Gilchrist is still in the early phases of his recovery form an ankle injury that hampered him at the end of the regular season. GM Rich Cho said he expects Kidd-Gilchrist to be cleared to start cutting in the next couple of weeks, so it could be more than a month until he's able to resume full basketball activities. That said, Kidd-Gilchrist should be fine before the start of training camp.

Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) played in a career-low 55 games and made 52 starts for the Hornets in his third NBA season. He, however, still managed to average careers highs in points (10.9), rebounds (7.6) and minutes (28.9), and GM Rich Cho called Kidd-Gilchrist the team's most improved player.
Kidd-Gilchrist's third season was riddled with two major injuries. His first was a hand injury, which kept him out for 12 straight games early in the season, while a season-ending ankle injury caused him to miss the last 11 games of the regular season. Despite this, Kidd-Gilchrist still proved throughout the season that he was a versatile defender and a very effective rebounder. He had 11 double-doubles on the season and 15 games where he grabbed double-digit rebounds. His best stretch of the season was shortly after the All-Star break, where over a stint of seven games, Kidd-Gilchrist averaged 14.0 points and 10.9 rebounds while shooting over 50 percent from the floor in every game. So, while Kidd-Gilchrist showed he was fully capable of scoring the basketball, his offensive game still needs some improving. He came into the league as nothing more than a slasher, and while he showed some improvement in his mid-range game, his three-point shot is still entirely non-existent. In fact, he did not shoot one three-pointer for the entire 2014-15 season, so he will likely spend majority of this offseason working to expand his offensive game. Next year will be Kidd-Gilchrist's final guaranteed season of his rookie contract, and while he may never fully develop a consistent outside shot, he will always be one of the better rebounding wings and best defenders in the league.

Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) was called the team's "most improved player" by GM Rich Cho on Monday, the Charlotte Observer reports. "MKG was probably our most improved player," Cho said. "We were roughly .500 when he played with us and I believe we were 6-21 when he was not on the court."
Kidd-Gilchrist, who missed the final 11 games of the season, played in a career-low 55 contests, making 52 starts. Despite battling through injuries, the third-year forward posted career-highs in scoring (10.9 points per game), rebounds (7.6) and minutes (28.9). He also showed off an improved mid-range jumper, through he remains a non-factor as a perimeter shooter. After going 3-for-18 from the outside in his first two NBA seasons, Kidd-Gilchrist did not attempt a single three-pointer this season. The next step for Kidd-Gilchrist, who is one of the NBA's best defenders, will be expanding his range to ensure defenders have to show him at least some respect when he's away from the basket.

Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) will not play Wednesday against Toronto.
As expected, Kidd-Gilchrist will sit out this final game, which is meaningless for the lottery-bound Hornets. There's no reason to think that the ankle injury that cost MKG the final 10 games of the season won't heal during the off-season, so he should be 100 percent healthy for the start of next season.

Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) will not play Monday against the Rockets.
Kidd-Gilchrist continues to battle an ankle injury, and he's likely done for the season with only one game remaining on the schedule after Monday.

Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) will not play in Sunday's game against the Pistons.
Kidd-Gilchrist is still dealing with an ankle injury and his availability for the rest of the season seems doubtful. Until the Hornets say otherwise, his next opportunity to play will be against the Rockets on Monday.
Fri Apr 10 201512:42Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) will not play Friday against Hawks
Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) will not play Friday against the Hawks, KL Chouinard of Hawks.com reports.
As expected, Kidd-Gilchrist will remain out Friday, and it seems rather likely that he'll be shut down for the season unless his ankle shows rapid improvement over the next few days.
Wed Apr 8 201518:13Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle)
Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle), who will not play Wednesday, could miss the rest of the season, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.
It sounds like Bonnell is making an inference here, but after the team's media availability Wednesday he came away with the impression that Kidd-Gilchrist has a pretty slim chance of returning this season. He's already missed the last six games, and the Hornets' season wraps up with five games in eight nights beginning Wednesday against Toronto and ending next Wednesday again versus Toronto. Of course, Kidd-Gilchrist would likely be able to return in the playoffs, but at present the 11th-place Hornets sit two games out of the eighth and final playoff spot with both Miami and Indiana ahead of them.

Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) will not play Wednesday against the Raptors.
Kidd-Gilchrist will miss both games of the back-to-back set, which began Tuesday against Miami. He's without a target return date, but the team initially handed down a 7-to-10 day timetable near the end of March, so Kidd-Gilchrist is basically game-to-game at this point.

Kidd-Gilchrist will sit out another game Tuesday, and he will likely sit out until at least Friday. Jeff Taylor is expected to make another start in Kidd-Gilchrist's place Tuesday night.

Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) is expected to sit out Tuesday at Miami and Wednesday against the Raptors, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Coach Steve Clifford stated that the soonest he believes Kidd-Gilchrist can play is Friday in Atlanta, which all but ensures his sixth and seventh absences in a row. As long as Kidd-Gilchrist is sidelined, expect Jeff Taylor to get the nod at the three.

Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) won't take the floor Saturday against the Sixers.
Kidd-Gilchrist remains on the pine as a result of his left ankle sprain. While he currently resides in the 7-to-10 day timetable given last week for a return, there's been no indication that an appearance is nigh. His next opportunity to play arrives Tuesday at Miami.
Fri Apr 3 201511:00Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) will not play Friday against Pacers
Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) will not play Friday against the Pacers.
The Hornets announced a week ago that Kidd-Gilchrist would be sidelined for 7-to-10 days as a result of his sprained left ankle, and there's been no news yet to indicate if that timetable still holds or has been pushed further back. Until the Hornets release another update on the forward's condition, it's difficult to say with any confidence that his return might be imminent. Jeff Taylor has been seeing 20-plus minutes each of the last three games while MKG has been sidelined, but has yet to provide much meaningful production in his stead.
Sat Mar 28 201517:36Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: (Ankle) Out 7-10 Days
Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) is expected to miss the next 7-10 days.
With MKG sidelined, the Hornets are starting Jeff Talyor at small forward Saturday against the Hawks, but Taylor has underwhlemed in spot starts in the past and should be ignored in most leagues. Kidd-Gilchrist should be dropped in most one-year leagues. At this point in the season, having dead weight on your roster can siginificantly hurt your chances of winning, especially in head-to-head leagues.
Sat Mar 28 201515:14Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) out for Saturday's game against Atlanta
Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) is out for Saturday's game against Atlanta, Rick Bonnelll of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Kidd-Gilchrist left Friday's game with a sprained ankle and did not return to action. His next chance to return will be Monday when the Hornets take on the Celtics.
Fri Mar 27 201521:11Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: Done With Ankle Sprain
Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) suffered a left ankle sprain in Friday's game against the Wizards and will not return, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Kidd-Gilchrist went straight to the locker room after going down, so an ankle sprain is actually a bit of relief compared to some of the alternatives. The Hornets play again Saturday, and while he can't officially be ruled out, it wouldn't be surprising if he misses that contest as well. The team should provide an update at some point, however, confirming his status.

Kidd-Gilchrist had his best shooting performance of the season Sunday, shooting 8-for-10 from the floor and finishing the game with 18 points, nine rebounds and one block in 39 minutes.
Kidd-Gilchrist is known for being a terrible shooter, so seeing him improve of the past two games is promising. On Friday, he shot 5-for-9 for 13 points. During December and January of this season, MKG shot 41.5 percent and 42.9 percent, respectively, from the floor but is now shooting 49.1 percent so far in March.

Kidd-Gilchrist posted 13 points (5-17 FG, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, three steals, and two blocks in 37 minutes of action Friday against the Bulls.
Kidd-Gilchrist has had a strong second half to the season, averaging 13.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.6 blocks post All-Star break. While his numbers don't necessarily pop off the charts, Charlotte's strong fantasy playoff schedule make him a solid low-end option in standard leagues.

Kidd-Gilchrist scored 23 points (9-12 FG, 5-8 FT) with nine rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal in 32 minutes during Wednesday's loss to the Kings.
After a couple of sub-par efforts earlier in the week, MKG was able to bounce back nicely. He's also showing flashes of adding some extra value to his points-and-boards game with five blocks in his last three contests. Kemba Walker's return from his knee injury could have a cascade effect on the Hornets' wing rotations, but at least on Wednesday Kidd-Gilchrist's minutes were steady.
Wed Mar 4 201523:29Kidd-Gilchrist scored 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-2 FT) with 13 rebound...
Kidd-Gilchrist scored 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-2 FT) with 13 rebounds in 34 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Nets.
It's his fourth double-double in five games. MKG doesn't offer fantasy owners much beyond his points and blocks, but his production has become consistent enough to make him very useful as a DFS option.
