Tue Aug 15 202315:55Kristaps Porzingis Will Miss FIBA World Cup With Foot Injury
Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis (foot) will ultimately miss the 2023 FIBA World Cup after conflicting reports about his health status. The all-star center announced on his Twitter that a joint decision by the medical and coaching staff of the Latvian national team and the Celtics was made to hold him out of the World Cup. His plantar fasciitis is what's holding him back and Porzingis stated that he had another MRI after several weeks of recovery. This decision seems to be in place to make sure he's ready to go when the NBA season starts but there hasn't been a firm timetable announced.

Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis was reportedly working with the Latvian Basketball staff and the Celtics on an injury management program. Since then, the Latvian Basketball officials have denied those reports and stated that Porzingis has been participating in all of the team's activities as normal. Celtics fans and fantasy managers can seemingly breathe a sigh of relief as it seems like the team's new acquisition will be alright. Latvia will announce their lineup for their game against the Dominican Republic on August 12.

Tue Aug 1 202307:32Biggest Moves of the 2023 NBA Offseason - Fred VanVleet, Jordan Poole, Kristaps Porzingis, Bradley Beal
It's a crazy time of year around the National Basketball Association. Not long after the Denver Nuggets captured the franchise's first championship, French big manVictor Wembanyama was the top pick of the 2023 Draft. While new talent entering the league is all well and good, nothing turns the NBA upside down quite like the beginning of free agency. Since June 30, many notable players have signed with new teams. There were also more than a few significant trades. In either case, at least a handful of clubs will look very different (for the better?) come training camp. Let's take a look at some of the biggest names on the move and how they might affect the NBA landscape this season.

Fred VanVleet - Houston Rockets

The Rockets entered the 2022-23 campaign as the second-youngest team in the National Basketball Association, and it showed. The club finished with 22 wins and 60 losses, with the Pistons being the only team with a worse record. As a result, the front office made a point to shake things up after the exhaustingly long year came to a close. The overhaul began when Stephen Silas, winning just 59 of his 236 games in Houston, was relieved of his head coaching duties. In his place, Ime Udoka, who helped guide the Celtics to an NBA Finals appearance in his first season, took the reigns. While Udoka's tenure in Boston didn't end on a positive note, he's still regarded as one of the sharpest minds in the league, even by those who lost respect for him on a personal level.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1650612243661242369?s=20While having a knowledgeable head coach will help accelerate the growth of an up-and-coming squad, the Rockets needed someone to facilitate things on the floor. With Houston having plenty of cap space entering the offseason, the team signed ... [More]
Sat Jul 1 202310:04Kristaps Porzingis Signing Two-Year, $60 Million Extension With Celtics
Boston Celtics forward/center Kristaps Porzingis has agreed to a two-year, $60 million extension with the club. He is now tied with the team for three seasons after also exercising his $36 million player option last week for the 2023-24 campaign. Porzingis will bring a very interesting dynamic to this Celtics team with his scoring prowess and ability to stretch the floor. He averaged a career-high 23.2 points last season with 38.5 percent shooting from deep. Porzingis will likely have a lesser role on offense in Boston, but his defensive presence can't be underestimated either, with the 27-year-old having averaged 1.8 blocks for his career.

Thu Jun 22 202309:38Kristaps Porzingis Traded To Boston
The Boston Celtics are set to officially acquire Kristaps Porzingis in a three-way trade involving the Washington Wizards and Memphis Grizzlies. The big move initially involved the Clippers, but the deal fell apart and the Celtics quickly found another team to work with Wednesday, as they were desperate to get the trade done before the deadline for Porzingis' $36 million player option dropped at midnight. Sources have told ESPN that he opted in. The Latvian is now expected to sign an extension with Boston once he's eligible to do so next month. Marcus Smart, Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala departed Boston in the trade, with the Celtics also bagging a pair of first-round picks. Getting Porzingis is a major coup for the team, but his fantasy value definitely takes a hit with this due to Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown dominating the Celtics offense.

Wed Jun 21 202319:41Kristaps Porzingis Must Opt-In To Player Option
Washington Wizards center Kristaps Porzingis has been at the centerpiece of a potential three-team trade. The big man must accept his $36 million player option for next season in order for this trade to work. The assumption is that Porzingis would head to the Boston Celtics where they'd likely give him an extension this summer. It's unlikely that the Celtics want to give up multiple assets for one season of Porzingis. The 27-year-old is fully expected to accept his player option, but it sounds like there is still some final details to be worked out in this trade.

Wed Jun 21 202315:04Kristaps Porzingis Could Be On His Way To Boston
Washington Wizards center Kristaps Porzingis has officially entered the trade rumors as Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that he's the centerpiece of a three-team trade that would send him to Boston. The third team involved in the trade would be the Los Angeles Clippers who would be sending Marcus Morris and draft compensation to Washington. Malcolm Brogdon, meanwhile, would be the player moved from Boston to Los Angeles. One of the obstacles has been Porzingis' $36 million player option.

Mon Jun 19 202317:38Kristaps Porzingis Could Accept Player Option
Washington Wizards center Kristaps Porzingis has a big decision to make this offseason. The big man has a $36 million player option for the 2023-2024 season. The original assumption was that Porzingis would opt-out and head to free agency. However, the oft-injured big man might decide to take the $36 million and head to the open market next offseason. There were rumors that the Wizards wanted to re-sign Porzingis, but the team is clearly headed towards a rebuild. It wouldn't be shocking to see Porzingis play in Washington next season. Although, his fantasy value could take a hit, assuming the Wizards go full rebuild.

Sun Jun 18 202310:53Portland And Washington Have Discussed Kristaps Porzingis Deal
Washington Wizards forward/center Kristaps Porzingis has been discussed in trade talks with the Portland Trail Blazers, reports NBA insider Evan Massey. The talks have involved Portland's No. 3 pick of next week's draft. More pieces would be involved as well, added Massey. Porzingis has just finished his first full season in D.C., and he had a great campaign by scoring a career-high 23.2 points and grabbing 8.4 rebounds. The Blazers are actively looking to upgrade their roster to please the title-winning ambitions of star guard Damian Lillard, although Porzingis' previous time in Dallas alongside Luka Doncic showed that he doesn't really work well with a ball-dominant point guard.

Thu Jun 15 202311:49Kristaps Porzingis Appears To Be Leaning Toward Picking Up His Option
Washington Wizards forward/center Kristaps Porzingis appears to be leaning toward picking up his player option. NBA insider Keith Smith has noted that Porzingis was initially expected to decline the option to sign a new long-term deal with the club, but following Washington's front office shake-up there's now "more and more buzz" that the Latvian giant opts in for $36 million next season. Porzingis had a career year in 2022-23, scoring 23.2 points on 49.8 percent shooting and grabbing 8.4 rebounds. His role on offense could be even bigger in the upcoming season if Bradley Beal moves on from the team.

Mon Apr 10 202319:01Wizards Want To Re-Sign Kristaps Porzingis
Washington Wizards center Kristaps Porzingis is likely to become a free agent this summer. The big man has a player option for next season, but it's uncertain if he'll accept it. That being said, the Wizards front office has said the main goal for them is to re-sign Kyle Kuzma and Porzingis. The 27-year-old is set for a big payday after another strong campaign. This season, Porzingis averaged 23.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 65 games with Washington. The biggest problem for the Wizards has been keeping Porzingis on the court. It remains to be seen if Porzingis even wants to play with Washington again. However, it appears the front office believes he's a big part of their future.

Mon Apr 3 202323:57Kristaps Porzingis Will Miss Another Game
Washington Wizards forward Kristaps Porzingis (illness) won't play on Tuesday against the Bucks. The veteran has been under the weather and will now miss his third straight game. However, it's reasonable to assume his season is finished. Nevertheless, Deni Avdija, who's averaged 9.9 points, 6.7 boards, and 3.1 assists in 40 starts this season, will continue to operate at the four spot. At the same time, Corey Kispert, coming off a game-high 29 points in Sunday's loss to the Knicks, will remain an attractive DFS option.

Sun Apr 2 202314:54Kristaps Porzingis Still Under The Weather
Washington Wizards forward Kristaps Porzingis (illness) remains out on Sunday against the Knicks. Washington will also be without Kyle Kuzma (ankle), Monte Morris (ankle), and Bradley Beal (knee), so the team will be looking for others to step up on the scoring end. In this case, Deni Avdija, Corey Kispert, Daniel Gafford, and Delon Wright should be the preferred DFS options on Sunday.

Wed Mar 29 202310:26Kristaps Porzingis Leads Blowout Win Over Celtics
Washington Wizards center Kristaps Porzingis led all scorers on Tuesday as the team dropped 130 points and grabbed a 19-point victory over the Boston Celtics. The 27-year-old ended the game with 32 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, one steal, and one block while shooting 14-for-21 from the floor and 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. Porzingis is currently shooting the best field goal percentage of his career this season while also improving to his highest points per game. At the same time, he's only one game away from his second-most games played in a season. He's repaid fantasy managers ten-fold for his ADP of 47.

Wed Mar 22 202310:49Kristaps Porzingis Scores 30 Points In Losing Effort
Washington Wizards center Kristaps Porzingis was the only player on the roster to score more than 16 points as they dropped an ugly game to the Orlando Magic on Tuesday. The 27-year-old posted 30 points, six rebounds, three assists, one steal, and two blocks while shooting 12-for-22 and adding three made threes. Porzingis is enjoying one of the best seasons of his career and he's already played his most games in a season since the 2016-17 season. He's now top 15 in nine-category leagues and should continue that trajectory for the remaining stretch of the season.

Sat Mar 18 202318:25Kristaps Porzingis Won't Play On Saturday
Washington Wizards center Kristaps Porzingis (illness) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Sacramento Kings. The big man was a late addition to the injury report due to a non-COVID related illness. The Wizards have decided to play it safe and have Porzingis sit out this contest. In his absence, Deni Avdija and Corey Kispert will be asked to play bigger roles in the rotation. Both have offered streaming appeal when the Wizards are shorthanded. Although, Avdija has proven to be the better streaming option between the two players.

Washington Wizards forward Kristaps Porzingis (knee) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Thursday's meeting with Toronto. The veteran missed the last two games with left knee soreness, allowing Deni Avdija to enter the starting lineup. However, Avidja struggled while Porzingis was sidelined, combining for only 12 points, so his return to the bench may be a good thing for fantasy managers.

LeBron James Injury Update

James injured his right foot during the third quarter of Sunday's comeback win over the Dallas Mavericks. It was a tense few seconds after the multi-time MVP clutched his foot after suffering what was deemed a "non-contact injury." The concern grew to greater heights after he was overheard saying, "I heard a pop." Situations like this are never good, as many were concerned that an Achilles tear could be the culprit.https://twitter.com/FanDuelTV/status/1630602449227595777?s=20Yet, after James gathered himself, he tightened his shoe and finished the game, totaling 26 points, eight rebounds, one block, and one steal. Head coach Darvin Ham appeared optimistic while speaking postgame, stating the 38-year-old was "good."However, that couldn't be further from the case, with The Athletic's Shams Charania reporting that James would "miss an extended period of time" because of the foot injury. Charania later added that the all-time scoring leader would "require multiple opinions."https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1630363560051187712?s=20

LeBron James' Season Recap

Despite James' advanced NBA age, he's still productive. In 47 appearances, he's averaged 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists. While his three-point percentage has regressed, that's never been his strong suit.James was also named an All-Star captain while recently passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time scoring leader.https://twitter.com/NBAonTNT/status/1623184801284104192?s=20That said, despite some high-level accomplishments, the year has been a rough one for the 2003 No. 1 overall pick. He's battled left foot soreness for nearly the entire season, so much so that he routinely carried some type of injury designation heading into almost all of his games over the last few months.... Tue Feb 28 202317:18Kristaps Porzingis Downgraded To Out On Tuesday
Washington Wizards center Kristaps Porzingis (knee) has been downgraded from doubtful to out on Tuesday against the Atlanta Hawks. Hopefully, there weren't any fantasy managers depending on Porzingis because the doubtful status doesn't usually turn out well when tipoff comes closer. While he remains sidelined, Daniel Gafford and Deni Avdija should see the most opportunities as a result. Both of them could be solid streaming options depending on what each team needs.
