Wed Jun 5 201315:59Jerome Williams relegated to bullpen
The Angels have moved Jerome Williams to the bullpen.
Williams is listed as a reliever on Wednesday's lineup card. The decision to move him to the bullpen comes as no surprise, as the Angels will continue to go with Joe Blanton and Tommy Hanson in their starting rotation.

Sun Jun 2 201301:31Jerome Williams goes seven in loss to Astros
Jerome Williams held the Astros to two runs and three hits over seven innings on Saturday, but he took a loss anyway.
Signs point to this being Williams' last start for a while, even though he seems like a better bet than Tommy Hanson and Joe Blanton at the moment. He's gone 4-2 with a 2.58 ERA in six starts and eight relief appearances for the Angels.

Wed May 29 201308:39Williams to make at least one more start
Angels manager Mike Scioscia said after Tuesday's game that Jerome Williams will make at least one more start.
Joe Blanton isn't going anywhere, so Scioscia plans to utilize a six-man rotation for the time being now that Jered Weaver and Tommy Hanson are coming back. It's not clear when Williams' next start will be, but it looks like sometime this weekend. The 31-year-old right-hander has a 2.58 ERA and 33/14 K/BB ratio in 52 1/3 innings this season.

Wed May 22 201301:12Jerome Williams goes eight scoreless in win
Jerome Williams blanked the Mariners for eight innings to win Tuesday night.
Williams has been a savior for the Angels, going 3-1 with a 2.30 ERA in four starts and seven relief appearances. He now figures to keep his rotation spot after Jered Weaver returns. AL-only leaguers should keep riding him with the Royals and Astros next on the schedule.

Fri May 17 201301:37Williams holds White Sox to two runs
Jerome Williams held the White Sox to two runs over six innings Thursday in a no-decision loss.
Williams allowed five hits and no walks, striking out three. He exited with a 4-2 lead, which Dane De La Rosa blew, costing Williams his third victory. Williams has been a surprisingly stabilizing force in the Angels' putrid starting rotation, allowing nine earned runs over 23 innings in four starts since joining. He has a tasty matchup next week when he takes the hill Wednesday against the Mariners.

Williams scattered seven hits and struck out three batters against just one walk. It was a strong bounceback outing for the 31-year-old right-hander, who struggled earlier this week versus Baltimore. He will carry a 3.06 ERA and 1.14 WHIP into his next start against these same White Sox.

Williams allowed four hits, three walks, and had six strikeouts. He finished with 93 pitches and was pulled after giving up his second home run on the night to J.J. Hardy. Fri May 3 201319:01Jerome Williams expected to join rotation
Jerome Williams is likely to replace Garrett Richards in the Angels' starting rotation.
He's expected to make his first start Sunday against the Orioles. Williams has been terrific out of the bullpen this season, posting a 1.69 ERA and 1.03 WHIP over 21 1/3 innings. Given the struggles of the Angels' starting rotation, it's no surprise that they're giving Williams an opportunity to start. He's worth a flier in AL-only leagues.

Tue Apr 30 201304:49Jerome Williams goes six innings in relief
Jerome Williams allowed just an unearned run in six innings out of the pen in Monday's marathon against the A's.
Williams did great work, with his only run allowed coming after Albert Pujols dropped a throw at first base. Of course, this was essentially a start for him tonight, so he'll probably need at least three days off after throwing 74 pitches.

Mon Apr 22 201319:36Jerome Williams likely to start Wednesday
Jerome Williams is expected to start on Wednesday against the Rangers.
The Angels need a spot starter after Tommy Hanson was placed on the bereavement list. Williams threw three relief innings on Sunday, so the Halos will probably thrilled if he can give them five decent innings Wednesday.

Angels avoided arbitration with RHP Jerome Williams by agreeing to a one-year, $2 million contract.

Wed Nov 28 201212:37Angels to tender contract to Jerome Williams
Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports that the Angels are expected to tender a contract to right-hander Jerome Williams.
The Angels are also expected to tender contracts to designated hitter Kendrys Morales, third baseman Alberto Callaspo and reliever Kevin Jepsen. Some pegged Williams as a non-tender candidate after he posted a disappointing 4.58 ERA in 137 2/3 innings this season, but the Angels are short on starters at the moment.

Wed Sep 12 201201:22Jerome Williams knocked around in spot start
Jerome Williams was knocked around in a spot start against the Athletics on Tuesday, allowing four runs on five hits in just 3 1/3 innings.
Williams walked one and struck out four in the contest. Yoenis Cespedes blasted a solo homer off him in the second inning and Brandon Moss added a two-run bomb before he departed in the fourth. Williams has been a disappointment for the Angels this season, now with a 6-8 record and 4.75 ERA over 125 innings. With Jered Weaver looking healthy enough to make his next start, Williams is likely to return to the long relief for the rest of 2012.

The 30-year-old right-hander has allowed 19 runs over his last four major league starts, raising his ERA from 3.68 to 4.67 in the process. Angels manager Mike Scioscia said Jerome Williams (chest) will rejoin the rotation after the All-Star break.
It wasn't a sure thing a couple weeks ago, but with Dan Haren (back) on the DL and Garrett Richards in the minors, Williams was fully expected to get his spot back. The breathing issue that landed him on the DL with last month is under control. "I try to work on my breathing and just not panic," Williams said.

Mon Jul 2 201216:26Williams diagnosed with forearm contusion
Jerome Williams was diagnosed with a right forearm contusion after being hit by a comebacker during his rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Salt Lake.
Good news. Williams was charged with six runs (five earned) over two innings in Sunday's start and will likely need a couple more rehab outings before being activated. The veteran right-hander landed on the disabled list last month after collapsing in the Angels' clubhouse after experiencing shortness of breath and anxiety.
