Sun Jun 10 201213:12Dayan Viciedo will sit in St. Louis
Adam Dunn is expected to start all three games in left field during the White Sox' upcoming series in St. Louis, meaning Dayan Viciedo will be on the bench.
Losing the DH really hurts the White Sox, as it forces them to put one of their best bats on the bench. The good news with Viciedo is that he's back in the lineup Sunday after missing Saturday's game with tightness in both hamstrings.

Sun Jun 10 201208:53Dayan Viciedo likely to return soon
White Sox manager Robin Ventura said keeping Dayan Viciedo (hamstrings) out of the lineup Saturday was merely a precaution.
Viciedo is dealing with tightness in both hamstrings, but it sounds like he could be back in there as early as Sunday. ``I don't want to push it,'' Ventura said. ``If a guy feels he needs to pull himself, I don't necessarily want to put him right back in there the next day.''

Sat May 26 201219:33Dayan Viciedo homers in third straight game
Dayan Viciedo went 3-for-5 with one home run and five RBI in Saturday's win over the Indians.
Viciedo has now homered in three straight games and is up to 10 on the season. But the powerful righty has been hot for two weeks now, as he has seven homers and seven multi-hit outings in his last 12 games. It's a sign that Viciedo is turning the corner.

Thu May 17 201200:55Dayan Viciedo has three-hit night
Dayan Viciedo went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Angels.
The multi-hit night was Viciedo's third straight, while the home run was his second in three games. He took Jerome Williams deep in the third. The mini-hot streak has upped Viciedo's triple slash from a brutal .196/.226/.304 to .237/.263/.386. Viciedo is worth a flier if you're desperate for outfield help in your deeper mixed league, but don't be surprised if this isn't a sign of things to come.

Dayan Viciedo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a losing effort against the Red Sox on Thursday.
The blast off of Felix Doubront in the fourth inning was Viciedo's third of the season. He is off to a very slow start, hitting just .196 (11-for-56) in his first full season as the White Sox starting left fielder. The organization believes strongly in his potential, but he'll have to start hitting soon or he may be at risk of losing at-bats to Kosuke Fukudome or Brent Lillibridge.

Thu Apr 19 201217:25Dayan Viciedo strikes out three times
After getting Wednesday off, Dayan Viciedo went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts Thursday in the loss to the Orioles.
Viciedo did make a nice play in left field, scooping up an 8-year-old who strayed from the stands and helping to return him there. It's one of the few contributions he's made thus far, though. Viciedo is batting .222, and while he has homered twice, those are his only two RBI and runs scored in 36 at-bats.

Viciedo's second bomb of the spring brings his final Cactus League average to an ugly .196. Viciedo finishes with hits in six consecutive games, but still shouldn't be counted on for early-season production in standard-sized mixed leagues as he gets used to the lay of the big-league land.

Mon Mar 26 201219:46Viciedo has two-hit day
Dayan Viciedo went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in Monday's win over the Dodgers.
That's the good news. The bad news is both knocks were singles, and Viciedo is still hitting just .140 on the spring. Despite the ugly numbers, he'll get a chance to establish himself as an everyday player in April, but he could be on a short leash.
