Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Tuesday that Lind (foot) may start a minor league rehab assignment later this week, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.
A specific date for Lind to commence his assignment still has not been set, suggesting a return this week is unlikely, but Gibbons did not rule out a weekend return. It seems more realistic to think Lind will return next week in Seattle after completing an assignment over the weekend.

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Monday that Adam Lind and Cole Gillespie will platoon for a while.
Lind is batting a robust .377/.442/.582 against righties this season but has just two hits in 28 at-bats against lefties. The 30-year-old has always been benched often against southpaws, so this is no surprise. Gillespie, who was claimed off waivers on Saturday, is a career .230/.295/.329 hitter over 270 plate appearances.

Adam Lind went 3-for-5 with an RBI double and a two-run single in Thursday's win over the White Sox.
Lind gave the Jays a 2-0 lead with an RBI double in the first inning. Melky Cabrera was able to score on the hit due to a fielding error. In the fourth, Lind made it 5-0 with a two-run single. Lind has hit safely in 10 out of his last 12 games and now carries a fantastic .342/.417/.523 slash line with four home runs and 26 RBI.

Adam Lind went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and four runs scored as the Jays steamrolled the Royals 12-2 on Saturday.
It's the first time in Lind's career that he's scored four times in a game. In fact, he hadn't even scored three times in a game since April 26, 2011. The three hits raised his average to a surprising .351. Sitting out against lefties has paid off for him after so many attempts to use him as a full-time player in spite of his limitations.

Adam Lind went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's win over the Rays.
Lind was one of three Jays to homer on the evening, a common occurrence for the MLB team leader in home runs with 76. Lind went deep off of Alex Cobb in the fifth inning, part of a four-run frame. The first baseman now has three home runs, 13 RBI, and a .341/.419/.573 in 93 plate appearances.
