Fri Oct 1 201008:43Rauch (knee) may not be available for ALDS
Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said Jon Rauch (knee) may not be available for the ALDS.
Rauch will at least be sidelined this weekend after he had his left knee drained of fluid Thursday and received a cortisone shot. "We'll have to determine whether he's even going to be fit for the playoff roster," Gardenhire said. "We just have to see that on the days off [before Game 1]. Another kind of a knock at us." Rauch has a 3.12 ERA and 46/14 K/BB ratio over 57 2/3 innings this season.

Fri Aug 6 201017:49Rauch available on Friday
Jon Rauch will be available Friday after missing time with a blister issue.
The Twins want to hold Matt Capps out of tonight's game because he's worked three days in a row, so Rauch could be in line for a save chance.

Jon Rauch is unavailable Wednesday due to an allergic reaction.
The reliever has a "blistering rash" on his throwing hand, according to Kelsie Smith of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, and is headed to see a doctor. Then he'll take the night off and rest up for a possible Thursday return.

Tue Jul 20 201021:13Rauch (ankle) likely unavailable Tuesday
Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said that Jon Rauch (ankle) will probably not be used against the Indians on Tuesday night.
"He says he's available but we probably won't use him tonight," said Gardenhire. "We'll see where we're at [Wednesday]. But he said he can pitch." Rauch was struck in the ankle by a Trevor Crow liner on Monday night. Gardenhire wouldn't say who he would use in a save situation, but Matt Guerrier seems like a pretty safe bet.

Tue Jul 20 201009:34Jon Rauch has sore ankle, out a few days
Jon Rauch was diagnosed with a bruised ankle Monday after getting struck by a Trevor Crowe line drive in the Twins' loss to the Indians.
"He'll be sore for a day or two," manager Ron Gardehire said. "I think we can get through it." Rauch has posted a 3.31 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 20 saves in 24 opportunities this season as a fill-in at closer for Joe Nathan. Matt Guerrier could serve as Rauch's replacement for the next few days.

Sat Jun 19 201020:20Rauch blows third save, earns win in extras
Jon Rauch blew his third save of the season by giving up a game-tying solo home run to Ross Gload in the tenth inning on Saturday.
He also earned the win after the Twins bounced back for three runs in the top of the 11th. It was the first run Rauch has given up since May 31 against the Mariners and the first home run he has allowed since May 26. The big right-hander has certainly exceeded our expectations to this point, so it's hard to complain too much, especially because he put the eventual go-ahead run in position to score with a sacrifice bunt in the top of the 11th. Rauch owns a 2.57 ERA and is 17-for-20 in save chances this season.
Wed May 26 201022:04Rauch takes first loss of season
Jon Rauch took his first loss of the season after surrendering a ninth-inning home run to Nick Swisher Wednesday night.
Rauch came into a tie game and got the first two outs before serving up a meatball that Swisher crushed to right field. It's his second straight negative outing, but he's built up plenty of job security. Nothing to worry about here.
Sat May 22 201021:06Twins' Rauch blows second save
Jon Rauch blew his second save after giving up two runs in the ninth Saturday against the Brewers.
The Twins opened the ninth with a 6-2 lead, but Ron Mahay and Rauch combined to give up five runs. Rauch would have taken the loss if not for Delmon Young's double, which tied it in the bottom of the ninth. The Twins went on to win in extra innings, so neither of Rauch's blown saves this season have resulted in a loss.
Wed Apr 7 201001:08Twins' Rauch picks up first save
Jon Rauch struck out two in a perfect ninth for a save Tuesday against the Twins.
A nice start in the closer's role for Rauch. Matt Guerrier set him up with an equally flawless eighth in a two-run game.
