Thu Aug 12 201014:50Rockies' Olivo goes hitless in loss
Miguel Olivo went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts Thursday in the loss to the Mets.
Chris Iannetta is also off to a slow start this month, but he's been a lot more productive over the last month and a half than Olivo, who is hitting .161/.203/.304 in 56 at-bats since the All-Star break. The Rockies will probably continue to give Iannetta a lot of playing time against righties.

Tue Jun 29 201001:44Rockies' Olivo knocks in four
Miguel Olivo went 3-for-5 with a homer, a double and four RBI against the Padres on Monday.
Olivo was ice cold for a few weeks, but he's hit three homers in his last six games, putting him up to 11 for the season. Chris Iannetta is also playing well, but Olivo will continue to get the majority of the starts for now.

Tue May 18 201022:41Olivo suffers bloody nose on head-first dive
Miguel Olivo left Tuesday's game against the Nationals after he faceplanted on a head-first slide into second base in the top of the seventh inning.
The good news is that he successfully stole second base. The bad news is that he'll be on blooper reels for the rest of eternity. Olivo suffered a bloody nose on the botched slide and was removed from the game as a precaution. He'll surely slide feet-first next time.

Wed May 12 201018:39Olivo's walkoff, 5-for-5 day leads to win
Miguel Olivo launched a walkoff solo home run in the bottom of the 10th inning Wednesday to lift the Rockies over the Phillies 4-3.
What a day for Olivo. He finished 5-for-5, upping his batting average from .228 to .274, and improving his season-long RBI count to 14. Finally, he's starting to take advantage of Chris Iannetta's absence.
Tue May 11 201000:51Rockies' Olivo goes 0-for-4 in loss
Miguel Olivo went 0-for-4 in Monday's loss, lowering his average to .228.
Olivo is 2-for-28 with no RBI in his last eight games, with Colorado having gone 2-6 in those contests. How much more do the Rockies need to see before they give Chris Iannetta another chance?
Wed Apr 28 201012:45Olivo passed two kidney stones this week
Miguel Olivo passed two kidney stones on Monday.
Tough guy. Olivo still played on Monday and Tuesday and is in the lineup again on Wednesday. With Chris Iannetta banished to the minor leagues, Olivo is worth a grab in mixed formats.

Mon Apr 26 201018:16Olivo in Monday's starting lineup
Miguel Olivo is in Monday's starting lineup against the Diamondbacks.
Rockies manager Jim Tracy has said he will play the hot hand behind the dish and Olivo certainly qualifies, homering in each of his last three games. He is batting .317 with five homers and 10 RBI to begin the year while Chris Iannetta is batting just .133 with two homers over 30 at-bats. They should be avoided in most mixed leagues.

Sun Apr 11 201019:04Olivo homers and steals a base in win
Miguel Olivo belted a solo and stole a base in the Rockies' 4-2 win over the Padres on Sunday.
Chris Iannetta owners can't be happy. Olivo has two homers and a .455 average in his three starts, so manager Jim Tracy isn't going to end the job-share any time soon. NL-only leaguers will certainly want to play both players, but those in all but the deepest of mixed leagues shouldn't dive in until a clear victor has been determined.
Fri Apr 9 201012:51Olivo starting Rockies' home opener on Friday
Miguel Olivo will start behind the plate for the home opener against the Padres on Friday.
As expected. Olivo also started Wednesday afternoon's game versus the Brewers. Rockies manager Jim Tracy has said that he will try to give Olivo and Chris Iannetta equal playing time, at least initially, and he's certainly sticking to that.

Wed Apr 7 201010:51Olivo to start over Iannetta on Wednesday
Miguel Olivo will get his first start of the season against the Brewers on Wednesday.
It's no surprise to see him in the lineup over Chris Iannetta with a day game after a night game. Iannetta is the superior catcher, but Olivo should still net plenty of playing time this season. Clint Barmes will also receive a day off on Wednesday, with Melvin Mora drawing a start at second base.
