Uh oh. No word on the reason for the change, but Beachy may have had another setback with his surgically-repaired right elbow. Mike Minor is now scheduled to start in his place Sunday against the Cardinals. |

Sun Aug 18 2013 | 11:38 | Beachy moved up to start in place of Medlen |
Brandon Beachy will start on Tuesday, a day earlier than originally scheduled, as the Braves reshuffle their rotation. |
The Braves were forced to use their Tuesday starter, Kris Medlen, during Saturday's 15-inning game, necessitating the move for Beachy. Despite moving up, Beachy will still be pitching with an extra day's rest, as he last pitched on August 14. Alex Wood will start in Beachy's place on Wednesday. |

Brandon Beachy allowed two runs through six innings in a win over the Phillies on Wednesday. |

Otherwise, the right-hander was sharp once again, giving up just six hits total without walking a batter. The win moved him to 2-0 and lowered his ERA to 4.50 -- it's still inflated from his first start when he allowed seven runs in 3 2/3 innings. Fri Aug 9 2013 | 22:19 | Beachy tosses eight scoreless to defeat Fish |
Brandon Beachy delivered a dazzling performance in Friday's victory over the Marlins, striking out six and scattering just three hits and a walk over eight scoreless innings. |
Beachy cruised through this one without getting into any serious trouble, only requiring 99 pitches to get through eight innings. As typically happens with pitchers returning from Tommy John surgery, Beachy has shown extreme inconsistency through his first three starts. He's certainly capable of delivering more dominating performances like this one, but should be started with caution. |

Brandon Beachy gave up four runs -- three earned -- in 6 1/3 innings but the Braves beat the Phillies in extra innings on Saturday evening in Philadelphia. |
Beachy is still building arm strength as he works his way back from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery and hasn't quite found the command of his slider. It got him into trouble early again on Saturday and he finally abandoned the pitch and settled in. It's going to take a while for the 26-year-old to round back into form. |

Mon Jul 29 2013 | 23:36 | Brandon Beachy gives up seven runs in return |
Brandon Beachy was tagged for seven runs and eight hits in 3 2/3 innings by the Rockies in his 2013 debut. |
Beachy's velocity was fine -- he averaged 92 mph with his heater -- and he was able to get some swings and misses, but Carlos Gonzalez gave him problems and a couple of homers added to the damage. It wasn't a particularly discouraging outing unless one was expecting him to be the 2012 Beachy right from the onset. |

Mon Jul 29 2013 | 15:03 | Beachy activated, starting Monday vs. Rockies |
Braves activated RHP Brandon Beachy from the 15-day disabled list. |
Beachy, now 13 months removed from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery, will make his 2013 regular-season debut on Monday night against the Rockies. It's common for pitchers to struggle out of the gate following Tommy John surgery, so the 26-year-old right-hander might not be the best fantasy bet in the early going. |

Sat Jul 27 2013 | 20:27 | Beachy (elbow) to start Monday vs. Rockies |
Brandon Beachy (elbow) will start for the Braves on Monday. |
Beachy has been making rehab starts in recent weeks, and the season-ending injury to Tim Hudson expedited his return to Atlanta. The 26-year-old is coming back from Tommy John surgery and hasn't pitched since June 16, 2012. He was having a terrific season before the injury, but expectations should be tempered on his immediate returns after major elbow surgery. |

I threw normally without that restriction. Felt good." The Braves will wait to see how Beachy's elbow responds before determining the next step.
