Neftali Feliz (elbow) is shut down for the time being.
Feliz was scratched from a scheduled minor league rehab appearance Saturday at Triple-A Round Rock due to right triceps tendinitis and felt discomfort again while trying to play catch on Sunday. The Rangers are confident that it's not a major setback, but Feliz is going to be out a while longer. He had Tommy John surgery last August.

Neftali Feliz (elbow) was scratched from Saturday's rehab appearance at Triple-A Round Rock due to triceps soreness.
The ailment isn't considered serious, but Feliz will be re-evaluted after throwing on flat ground Sunday. Unless it gets worse, the malady doesn't figure to set the right-hander back too far. He's hoping to join the Rangers' bullpen early next month.

Neftali Feliz (elbow) will move his minor league rehab assignment to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.
Feliz, who is working his way back from Tommy John surgery, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out four over two scoreless innings with the Rangers' Arizona League team. He should join the Rangers around the time rosters expand in September. While he's still viewed as starting pitcher in the long-term, he's expected to be used in a relief role upon his return.

Neftali Feliz (elbow) walked one and struck out two over an inning of work in his first rehab appearance with the Rangers' Arizona League team Friday.
Feliz touched 94 mph on the radar gun. The Rangers are hoping to get the young right-hander back from Tommy John surgery by early September. Though the club still views him as a starter over the long haul, he'll be used in a relief role when he returns.

Rangers manager Ron Washington said on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM on Wednesday that Neftali Feliz (elbow) could be ready to begin a rehab assignment by August 2.
Feliz, who is working his way back from Tommy John surgery, began throwing off a mound last month and hasn't had any setbacks. Washington believes he could rejoin the team in September, though chances are they'd use him in a relief role until next year.

The the first step in a long road back for the right-hander. The Rangers expect Feliz to be ready by the end of the 2013 regular season, but they can't realistically expect much from him again until 2014. He was limited to just 42 2/3 innings last season.

Feliz was eligible for salary arbitration for the first time. The 24-year-old right-hander posted a 3.16 ERA in 42 2/3 innings last season for Texas before requiring Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery. He's expected to be recovered by the end of the 2013 regular season.

Neftali Feliz is on schedule in his recovery from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery.
"Nefty is doing well," Rangers GM Jon Daniels said Wednesday. "He's coming into Arlington in a couple of weeks to get checked up by (team doctor Keith) Meister and then will report out in Arizona to continue his rehab. Everything's on schedule at this point." Feliz could be ready to return to the Rangers' rotation by August 2013.

Feliz underwent Tommy John surgery at the beginning of August and isn't expected to return until late in the 2013 season. The 24-year-old right-hander isn't expected to make much of a fantasy impact next season.

Neftali Feliz had Tommy John surgery Wednesday.
The procedure was performed in Arlington, Texas. Feliz faces a long road of recovery and probably won't be ready for major league action until late in the 2013 season. He posted a 3.16 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and struck out 37 batters in 42 2/3 innings this year.

Neftali Feliz needs Tommy John elbow surgery.
Not a surprise but still disappointing news. Feliz was scratched from a rehab start Sunday at Triple-A Round Rock after feeling renewed discomfort in his throwing elbow and was diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament on Monday. He'll be out through most of the 2013 regular season.
