Neftali Feliz's (elbow) next rehab start with Triple-A Round Rock will come Sunday.
Feliz will stretch it out to 75-80 pitches. He threw three shutout innings Tuesday in his third rehab start and has now allowed five runs -- one earned -- over 6 2/3 innings overall while striking out eight. He'll probably need one additional outing after Sunday before rejoining the Rangers.

Neftali Feliz (elbow) will make his next minor league rehab start Tuesday with Triple-A Round Rock.
Feliz is slated to throw three to four innings or 60 pitches. He allowed four runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks over 1 2/3 innings in his first start at the Triple-A level on Friday. The Rangers could really use the help in their rotation right now, but they aren't going to rush Feliz back.

Neftali Feliz (elbow) allowed an unearned run over two innings Monday in his first rehab start with Double-A Frisco.
Feliz allowed one run and two walks while striking out four. He topped out at 96 mph on his fastball and threw 25 out of 40 pitches for strikes. The Rangers plan to stretch him out as a starter in order to build arm strength, so he'll throw three innings in his next rehab outing Friday with Triple-A Round Rock. However, it's possible he'll eventually return to the majors in a relief role.

Fri Jul 6 201211:30Neftali Feliz (elbow) will rehab as a starter
Neftali Feliz (elbow) will be stretched out as a starter during his rehab assignment.
It doesn't necessarily mean he'll rejoin the Rangers in the same capacity, but he'll have his stamina built back up just in case. Feliz will throw a third bullpen session Saturday before the Rangers determine when he'll begin a rehab assignment. Given that he'll be stretched out as a starter, a return in late July would likely be a best-case scenario.

Neftali Feliz (elbow) expects to throw off of a mound when the Rangers travel to Chicago next week.
This comes as a bit of a surprise after Rangers skipper Ron Washington noted Friday that he didn't believe Feliz was close to mound work. The right-hander resumed playing catch late last week, and is slowly progressing in his recovery from an injured elbow. He could be back around late July.

Fri Jun 29 201218:30Feliz (elbow) not close to mound session
Rangers manager Ron Washington said Friday that Neftali Feliz (elbow) is not close to throwing from a mound.
Feliz started playing catch last week and is currently stretched out to 120-160 feet, but it's not clear when he'll be ready to throw from a mound. For what it's worth, he's considered to be behind Koji Uehara (lat) and Alexi Ogando (groin), who are both expected to throw from a mound in the next week. His absence figures to stretch well into the second half at this point.

Mon May 21 201219:48Neftali Feliz has sprained UCL
Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said Neftali Feliz has a ulnar collateral ligament sprain in his right elbow.
His injury had been described just as inflammation. It's always concerning when the UCL is involved, but evidently Feliz's ligament isn't bad enough to require surgery. He'll be shut down for at least a month and isn't expected to return to the Rangers until after the All-Star break. Daniels also mentioned that it's possible Feliz's role could chance upon his return.

Mon May 21 201218:35Feliz (elbow) could be out until AS break
Neftali Feliz (elbow) could be sidelined until the All-Star break.
Feliz was placed on the disabled list Monday with right elbow inflammation. He'll be shut down for a month, after which he'll begin a throwing program. This will likely sideline him until the All-Star break, if not longer. The 24-year-old right-hander was facing an innings limit in his first season in the rotation anyway, so this might not be the worst thing for him given that there's no structural damage. Scott Feldman will take his spot in the starting rotation and is worth adding in AL-only formats.

Wed Apr 25 201223:36Neftali Feliz works inning of relief vs. NYY
Neftali Feliz served up a solo home run to Raul Ibanez in an inning of relief in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Yankees.
Feliz also notched a strikeout as he got some work in ahead of his Tuesday outing against the Blue Jays. Although Joe Nathan has been less than stellar in the early going as the Rangers' closer, Feliz's leash as a starter appears to be very long.
