Turner grunted and winced as he jogged away from the plate toward the dugout, his hand hanging limp at his side. Diamondbacks ace Zack Greinke will start this season in the dugout.Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Monday that Greinke won't pitch on opening day because of what's perceived to be a minor health issue.Greinke exited his latest start after one inning because of tightness in his groin. He's scheduled to pitch again in spring training Wednesday.The Diamondbacks don't want to push him to be ready for their first game March 29 at home against Colorado. 3B Matt Davidson missed his second straight game due to illness. Manager Rick Renteria said before Wednesday's game that Davidson was still experiencing some sickness in his chest and that he was available to pinch hit on Wednesday night. Davidson is expected to be healthy enough to play in Thursday's series finale.

DH Matt Davidson was a scratch because of a low-grade fever. Davidson was 0-for-7 with four strikeouts over the first two games of the series and 6-for-33 on the road trip.

DH Matt Davidson is the definition of a high-risk, high-reward offensive player. Davidson hit his 25th home run of the season Saturday evening, a solo shot in the fifth, but he also fanned once. Davidson has struck out 154 times this season. He has 64 RBIs in 108 games. He gives manager Rick Renteria some flexibility since he can play first, third and a little outfield.

3B Matt Davidson was activated from the 10-day disabled list on Friday to fill the roster spot vacated by rookie 2B Yoan Moncada, who was placed on the DL with a bone contusion in his right shin. Davidson was supposed to remain at Triple-A Charlotte a little longer on his rehab stint, but was recalled early. Manager Rick Renteria said Davidson will finish his rehab activities with the White Sox. He will start out playing DH, then gradually return to playing the field, with scheduled rest days off in between.
