DH Matt Davidson hadn't played in six consecutive games before Monday. He wasted little time in staking his claim for more playing time in the future. Davidson had a career-high three hits -- a home run, a double and a single -- and matched a career high with four RBIs. Three of Davidson's RBIs came in the sixth inning when the White Sox batted around and scored eight runs, as he had two hits in the inning. Although he would like to play more than he is, Davidson said after the 12-1 victory over the Royals, "It's a whole lot better being here than at (Triple-A) Charlotte, so I'm enjoying every single day. Obviously, I want to play every day, but being around these guys and being in Chicago is a dream come true."

Mon Jul 18 201600:433B Matt Davidson transferred to 60-day disabled list Sunday
3B Matt Davidson was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Sunday. Davidson, who had surgery on his right foot this month, played in just one game this season. He went 1-for-2, drove in a run with a single and struck out June 30 in a 6-5 win over the Minnesota Twins before breaking his foot in that game. At Triple-A Charlotte, Davidson was batting .286 with 10 home runs, 20 doubles and 46 RBIs in 75 games before being recalled June 30.

3B Matt Davidson made his White Sox debut on Thursday after being called up from Triple-A Charlotte. Davidson, who had been flourishing offensively in the minors, wasted no time in collecting his first hit for the White Sox with an RBI single. Davidson went 1-for-3 before leaving the game with what doctors determined to be a fracture in his right foot. Davidson will be further evaluated on Friday. Before the game, manager Robin Ventura said he planned to use Davidson at both first and third base, which will allow him to rest Todd Frazier and Jose Abreu as needed. After sustaining the injury, which Ventura said occurred while Davidson was rounding first base, what Davidson's immediate future holds remains uncertain.

3B Matt Davidson was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday and was inserted into the DH slot. Davidson was hitting .268 with 20 doubles, 10 home runs and 46 RBIs in 75 games this season. Davidson takes the roster spot of LHP Matt Purke, who was sent to the Triple-A team Wednesday night.

Davidson went 2-for-3 with a double and home run Wednesday against Triple-A Durham.
The home run was already Davidson's third of the season, and he is slugging a healthy .533 through 45 at-bats. Unfortunately, he has also struck out 16 times already, and his .289 average will likely tumble when his .385 BABIP begins to decline. Still, if he can keep things hot, then a promotion to Chicago may not be out of the question, especially if Conor Gillaspie is unable to recapture his 2014 magic.

The White Sox optioned Davidson to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, the Daily Herald reports.
Davidson struggled to make good contact this spring, going 2-for-14 with just one extra-base hit in his eight games played. The White Sox are not pulling the plug quite yet, but it is clear that there is a fair amount of work to do before he can compete for the club's third base gig. Expect Conor Gillaspie to serve as the Sox's third baseman for much of the year.

Davidson will be given an opportunity to compete for an Opening Day roster spot during spring training, according to White Sox manager Robin Ventura.
Davidson's production fell off a cliff last season at Triple-A Charlotte (.199/.283/.362), but he still managed to hit 20 home runs while striking out an astonishing 164 times in 478 at-bats. While he previously showed a propensity to swing and miss, Davidson had never hit below .261 at a full-season stop in the minors while playing against older competition throughout his ascent in the Arizona system. If he rebounds in 2015, Davidson may push Conor Gillaspie for playing time at third base.
Thu Jul 3 201410:47White Sox 3B prospect Davidson rips 2 doubles
White Sox third base prospect Matt Davidson went 2-for-5 with two doubles for Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, raising his season line to .206/.282/.419.
Davidson has been hot as of late, hitting .267/.344/.605 with five doubles and eight home runs over his last 24 games. His strikeout rate is troubling, but his power has been shining as of late. Every month, sis strikeout rate has decreased and his OPS has increased. If he keeps hitting, he could see some time at the hot corner on the South Side before the end of 2014. This could be a great buy-low opportunity.
