LHP Francisco Liriano said on Sunday he was still experiencing soreness in the right side of his neck but he did not require an MRI. He experienced neck spasms in the bullpen prior to his start on Saturday. He tried to pitch through it but his start lasted just two-plus innings, as he gave up five earned runs and walked four batters. His season ERA rose to 6.04 and his WHIP increased to 1.67 in a season in which he has gone two innings or less in three starts. It's uncertain whether he'll be able to make his scheduled start on Thursday.

RHP Francisco Liriano left Saturday's game in the third inning with neck tightness. Liriano walked the bases loaded to open the inning and was behind J.D. Martinez 2-0 when he was removed after consultation with manager John Gibbons and athletic therapist George Poulis. "Hopefully, it's nothing serious, he just slept on it wrong," Gibbons said.

LHP Francisco Liriano (3-3), in his fourth start since coming off the disabled list with left shoulder inflammation, took his lumps in Toronto's 6-1 loss to Texas on Tuesday. The lefty suffered the loss, giving up five runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three over 42/3 innings. He gave up two home runs, both solo shots, one to Carlos Gomez in Texas' four-run first and another to Nomar Mazara in the fifth. Liriano gave up two home runs for only the second game all season. "I think I missed a couple pitches, but at the same time they were hitting some good pitches," Liriano said. "You have to give some credit to the hitters and just find a way to get better next time."
